    C always was and will always be my favourite key. I've just always loved the way it harmonizes and you can literally go from sad, to happy, from romantic, to nostalgic. Sometimes even some kind of combo between all those feelings.
    Needless to say, this is my favourite arrangement for Pachelbel's Canon.

    When I hear this piece, I think of an old lady who fulfilled many things in her life. She had a sad and poor childhood, her father dying in battle, her mother not being able to pay for many nice things for the young girl. As the girl grew, she was interested in academics, maths and science and such. The girl grew to become a nurse for the soldiers at war, and it was there where she met her destined to be husband. He made her blush, laugh, and eventually they got married. Few people came, but it was a joyous wedding all the same. They bought a home in the country, doing it up as their own, and in it they raised many children. Year after year, through the seasons, the man and woman loved each other unconditionally. The children grew up, left for school, then work, and then had children of their own. Soon, the man got dementia. Him and his wife were very old, and so he was taken to a care home where he eventually died, quietly in his sleep. His wife continued to make his bed, cook his breakfast, and one morning, sat in her rocking chair on the porch, she too passed peacefully - happy and content with her life.

    This song is about something sad, I feel like the man who made this song lost someone dear to him, and he expressed his emotions through this. I lost my father when I was 9 and I'm 16 now, I always remember him when I hear this. It's true when they say sad songs are always the best, because they are the song that express the emotions so purely that you can relate to them in some way.
    Masterpiece...

      you should perhaps listen to the original to find out that this is only a quite poor cover version; and it is in the wrong key to make it easier to play for beginners.

    • @arcometroid
      @arcometroid 10 років тому +6

      Bluesgerd47 it's not in the "wrong" key, if you want to do your version of a piece and transpose it to whatever key you want it's fine, it has nothing to do with making it easier. it's souds different from canon in D and I think it's beautiful. still prefere the original, but this is a nice arrangement.

      Chee Kiat Teo why do you feel he needs to post a video to prove himself? If you took piano lessons or watched a lot of pieces, you'd know this isn't even a very high level piece. It's just a piece that sounds nice, but most high level pieces are musical and difficult in a way that usually makes no sense to people that don't play or listen to a lot of music, making them less popular. If this kid says he can play it, I for one would believe it whether he is lying or not because this piece had nothing difficult about, simply variations of the same tune over and over.

People that i have loved and love. Good things that i wanted to do, and great things i did. To support my family. To be happy for who i am. Enjoy every little thing. Having goals. Living happy. I've been learning to play Canon in D major so the entire time I was listening to this it sounded off bc it's so different in pitch that I felt uncomfortable with how different it, I much prefer Canon in d major, it just sounds better to me, but if other people find it pleasant then who am I to say that's wrong, no, I think it's wonderful

    It wasn't written by Pachelbel. The style of plying isn't for 16th-17th centruries. It's highly likely, that this is a variation of the modern pianist.

    A one-hit wonder...

    • @resonantdave
      @resonantdave 10 років тому +12

      I beg your goddamn pardon!
      His Ciaconna in D minor is directly referenced in Bach's Passacaglia in C minor, which is considered to be the definitive example of the form. Pachelbel's work is still widely enjoyed by people smarter than your ass who actually listen to Baroque composers, and is a fundamental chapter of the organ repertoire.
      Check yoself befo you wreck yoself, son.
      And this should be in D major, not C.

    • @TheFatbip
      @TheFatbip 10 років тому +18

      David Kirk You are the fucking idiot here. His Canon in D major is not the same as his Canon in C. They are two completely different pieces. His Canon in D is his one hit that I was referring to, not this.
      And I never said that I do not listen to anything else by Pachelbel. I only said that that is the only piece by him that is known to the general public.
      So fuck yourself, son.

    • @AnchesDeClavier
      @AnchesDeClavier 10 років тому +7

      TheFatbip This piece was originally in D major. The music in this video is a piano arrangement by George Winston moved down into C major. Same theme, different key signature. Also, he did not write a canon in C, although there is a ciacona.

    • @JohnPaluska
      @JohnPaluska 10 років тому

      actually, Pachelbel wrote many other songs. He really wasn't much of a hit in his day. This song only recently became popular. I believe it was in the 1960s that this song became a common mention in classical music.
