C always was and will always be my favourite key. I've just always loved the way it harmonizes and you can literally go from sad, to happy, from romantic, to nostalgic. Sometimes even some kind of combo between all those feelings. Needless to say, this is my favourite arrangement for Pachelbel's Canon.
This song is about something sad, I feel like the man who made this song lost someone dear to him, and he expressed his emotions through this. I lost my father when I was 9 and I'm 16 now, I always remember him when I hear this. It's true when they say sad songs are always the best, because they are the song that express the emotions so purely that you can relate to them in some way. Masterpiece...
+TooCoolForYou When Pachelbel composed Canon in D, he had already lost two wives, 1 boy and 2 daughters. The Barroque period was very hard in terms of health. Yet, this sounds inspiring considering the suffering that he must have felt.
you should perhaps listen to the original to find out that this is only a quite poor cover version; and it is in the wrong key to make it easier to play for beginners.
Bluesgerd47 it's not in the "wrong" key, if you want to do your version of a piece and transpose it to whatever key you want it's fine, it has nothing to do with making it easier. it's souds different from canon in D and I think it's beautiful. still prefere the original, but this is a nice arrangement.
One of the greatest chord progressions! C-G-Am-Em-F-C-F-G. You can have fun for years playing around with this song and all the various arrangements for it. Great stuff!

Played this every night for my three sons for years. As they got older, it slowed until one day I stopped playing it for them. Not long ago, I played this exact version of Canon, and they remembered. Brought back so many good memories of a time not long ago. Tears for all us.
As a kid my aunt used to play this on the piano everytime I spent the night. It was my go to piece to fall asleep. Now looking back on it, this piece now makes me cry. 😕

Chee Kiat Teo why do you feel he needs to post a video to prove himself? If you took piano lessons or watched a lot of pieces, you'd know this isn't even a very high level piece. It's just a piece that sounds nice, but most high level pieces are musical and difficult in a way that usually makes no sense to people that don't play or listen to a lot of music, making them less popular. If this kid says he can play it, I for one would believe it whether he is lying or not because this piece had nothing difficult about, simply variations of the same tune over and over.
