This is my home park and I have all the nostalgia for Zambezi Zinger, which is the first large coaster I ever rode. I do hope WOF also invests in a new high intensity coaster soon. Specifically, I’d like to see them replace or refresh Timberwolf. Ridership is really dropping on that ride as it just gets rougher each year. I went to Cedar Point recently and saw what coasters can REALLY do. Love to see something like a Valravin or Maverick at WOF to really us on the map. Also, you are spot on about the environment and theming. It’s a really beautiful park. I think the staff is rather mediocre as they come across as low motivation and load times for rides are quite slow. They probably need better pay, training, and culture.

I like seeing parks make eccentric choices like this. It's a nostalgic project, obviously, but it's also really novel. I'm also always there for anyone putting in new family rides of significance; I think many parks have a gap between kiddie rides and high-thrill rides that leaves too many people without any coasters to ride. That first drop might still be a bit much for *my* family, though--I could see them balking at it. The choice of making it mostly wood with only a few Titan Track sections is interesting. I get the philosophy here--it's to make a coaster that is mostly a woodie but can do things that would be a bit risky for a woodie. If the rest of it gets rough they can Titan Track more of it in the future.
The locals in the KC area who grew up with the original Zinger are popping for this. I think it's a wonderful idea, and it's different from Prowler & Timber Wolf. I am excited for this, and I'm not even from/ or live in the KC area.
I think it's a great new family coaster. About time this park got a new coaster. Kinda cool they got two gci in the park. Both offer completely different rides. Hopefully thier next coaster will be rmc Timber wolf.

Hey Brandon, nice update. Although, I’ve only been to WOF a couple of times, bot times have been filled with great times, and fond memories. As for your Analysis & thoughts on WOF’s new Zambezi ZingerI, I agree on many of the points touched that you touched on. One, I too wish that WOF would have made the decision to make the coaster around 135 feet tall, and use Titan track on the entire coaster this would have provided a top tier coaster for the park. Two, I would have liked to seen the layout feature two interlocking vertical loops, along with a pair of interlocking inline twists both of which traverse their respective inversions counterminuiouslhy (at the same time… i.e. the BGW LNM of the 1980’s). Three, detailed theming Phantasialand (Germany) theming. For example, rock work, water falls, tunnels, MeeFog Special Effects, and animatronic animals to truly round out the African theming. Lastly, in a perfect world, a few new flat rides (a tall Intamin Gyro Swing, a Mondial AirStrike attraction themed to a tree w/ monkeys playing on its branches, a chance FreeStyle would have brilliantly complimented the area). But it is a great start to getting back to our roots.
im pretty sure cedar fair is bringing a few old roller coasters to other parks too, but technically this one isn't new, its just a rebuilt version of the previous one
I definitely think they should have made the whole thing Titan track. If you are going to get the first ground up Titan track coaster, you might as well make it a true Titan track coaster. What they have here is basically a generic small scale GCI with Titan track on portions of the layout. I think everybody was expecting a full Titan track coaster. And if your not going to give us any inversions, at least give us some ejector airtime. That is something they said the new trains could handle. If I were to design this, I would have put as much ejector airtime as I could in it. But I understand it is supposed to be more family friendly.
I think it makes sense for the park. I would describe this coaster as looking like "pure fun". Not crazy, not intense. It just looks fun. I too was a little disappointed it won't be 100% Titan Track with an inversion. But maybe GCI Is being deliberate in their approach. They seem to be following an agile business model that leans heavily in to iterations. We saw small amounts installed on pre built coasters. Now the next step is a small amount on a ground up. Which means we're getting closer to the 100% ground up titan with inversions. Overall I'm excited to ride this next year sure. But I'm mostly excited for the next iteration of the titan Track. This is a descent sized next step in my opinion. Just my thoughts though! Another good vid!
Looks really cool. Love the spiral lift. I do think it will be a good coaster for sure. Only complaint is I wish it had an inversion to separate it from Prowler a little more, but looks like it’ll be good other than that.
Well, it’s unique I’ll give it that. Prowler is still going to be the best ride undoubtedly, but at least they get a pretty cool family coaster. Still wondering why they went so experimental when they could’ve just gone with Gravity Group though.
WoF being my home park and living just 10 min away, I can say the community and locals are excited. First, it's a New coaster after what felt like forever. Second, the homage to the original Zambe has those who had the opportunity to ride the original ecstatic. It has been said many times that it was the best ride when it stood, and was a ride favorite for most. (Which is probably why the park is sorta "Remastering" and bringing back the ride.) My concerns are it's going to end up feeling like a mini Prowler from the POV looks to be a lot of positive Gs. I was hoping for something new for the park's lineup.

Man. Not having inversions or launches is disappointing... And the lift hill is half the ride. Let's hope it slaps and they bring back orient express soon after
If this ride had inversions, it would be even less like the original than it already is. No, what this ride is missing is in-line seating with people sitting in other peoples' laps.
Well hopefully this means their next coaster will fill the gap they are missing, a launched coaster. Preferably one of the new Vekomas with trenches for a batwing and to pay homage to Orient express have a batwing straight section go through a vertical loop.
I don't think GCI wants to make full hybrid coasters, honestly. Their reps have stated in interviews that they are committed to making wooden coasters and the Titan track is just a tool to make their coasters do things traditional wooden coasters can't.
Sorry to say but I kinda wish they would of sold the park to Sea World maybe then they would of did more than just this. But really yea there bringing back a icon but its not even going to be the same.
I am a little disappointed as it had been 13 years between coasters at my home park just for it to be a family coaster, but i get why they did it. 50 year anniversary and you pay homage to a coaster that was there was in first opened.
The real buzz, at least in my opinion, is Ken Parks's strong emphasis on heavy theming returning to the entire park. ua-cam.com/video/QtsD8LAwP6o/v-deo.html
My buddy… you’ve just made me more hopeful for the park’s growth and evolution, since it confirms they’re going in a direction that I’d want them to take
As a new coaster sure. As a homage to the Zinger. No. It's not the Zinger. I'm not a coaster person but at one time when younger I used to live at WoF on the weekends while in high school so I rode the zinger a lot. 70mph, open feeling, no restraint and a frame that seemed so simple and open. It was super smooth and you never felt like you were going to fall out. I don't know what this new one will be but it's not the zinger. I don't know if the Zinger is still going in Columbia but if it is, go ride that. If you want to experience it.
I assume your comment was just meant to get people riled up but I'll set that aside. One of the best benefits of Cedar Fair and Six Flags is that they ensure that there are a variety of regional parks that are able to expand. In many cases, their park acquisitions have been parks that would have remained stagnant or possibly closed (though we all get that Cedar Fair has not really done anything for Michigan's Adventure that it's original owners couldn't have done better.) As much as people belittle places like Dorney, World's of Fun, Valley Fair, Six Flags America, Darien Lake or even Six Flags Saint Louis, it's a real benefit to the people on those regions that they have parks that are generally well managed. It would be a shame if California, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania were the only places you could find a variety of medium to large scale parks.
best thing WOF could do is add security out in the parking lot to control the young punks fighting at closing time (HUNDREDS). Last time I visited, I was caught up in traffic leaving, watching HUNDREDS of youth fighting (mostly girls) all around my family in our car....never know when gun play breaks out. Im a little disappointed in the coaster....I was hoping for a big splash.....however, my wife is excited enough to check into season tickets prices.....we usualy buy Silver Dollar City season passes.
This will be the biggest thing to happen to Kansas City in our lifetime. Bigger than the World Series. Bigger than the Super Bowl. Bigger than fucking Hallmark👍🏼
I have been going to this park since I was 7 in 81. This is a huge disappointment and slap in the face for a coaster enthusiast. It's looks like another kid's ride for WOF. I was hoping for more because of the hype behind it. It's like the Old Zinger meets Prowler. Very very disappointing 😞.
And that is what I feel will be the heaviest criticism among park enthusiasts. What a damn shame for WOF to copy two idea's and make it into one. What a waste of a good investment towards one of the most underrated parks in Cedar Fair.
I was really hoping for something intense. Its cool they are bringing back or reimagining a classic but it seems a little slow and kind of a short ride too. Hopefully this one will bring people in and the next one will be bigger and badder.
I hope this means king's dominion will get a ride very similar to volcano

It will probably have more Titan Track you never know
what if carowinds gets a hybrid but it’s gci… nice…. but i STILL NEED MY RMC HERE
i think the titan track is the track with not catwalks
Man. Not having inversions or launches is disappointing... And the lift hill is half the ride. Let's hope it slaps and they bring back orient express soon after
I think it will be a awesome coaster.
If this ride had inversions, it would be even less like the original than it already is. No, what this ride is missing is in-line seating with people sitting in other peoples' laps.
@@gregorymoore2877 I'm good with the new trains, I don't miss sitting in a strangers lap, especially as a child
@@stevenohlson5476 You parents made you sit in a strangers lap as a child? Was sitting by yourself not optional?
@Gregory Moore lmso... savage. Wow...the trains look modeled to take on those whippy changes. Looks like a blast
Well hopefully this means their next coaster will fill the gap they are missing, a launched coaster. Preferably one of the new Vekomas with trenches for a batwing and to pay homage to Orient express have a batwing straight section go through a vertical loop.
Its December 12th and they started building it
That is great to hear! Thank you for sharing!
This is just a beautiful rollercoaster..I think many will be happy with this.WOF is definitely gonna be on my bucket list..
i hope worlds of fun gets a rmc too
Do they really need another wooden coaster?
No
Better question: does it matter?
I don't think GCI wants to make full hybrid coasters, honestly. Their reps have stated in interviews that they are committed to making wooden coasters and the Titan track is just a tool to make their coasters do things traditional wooden coasters can't.
Now they need to RMC the Timber Wolf and build a Trex Orient Express 2.0.
Sorry to say but I kinda wish they would of sold the park to Sea World maybe then they would of did more than just this. But really yea there bringing back a icon but its not even going to be the same.
Ok I'm going to sound really cocky saying this, but I actually did predict they were going to bring back a coaster.
I can see it now
new for 202x at WoF the B&M Orient Express
I am a little disappointed as it had been 13 years between coasters at my home park just for it to be a family coaster, but i get why they did it. 50 year anniversary and you pay homage to a coaster that was there was in first opened.

The real buzz, at least in my opinion, is Ken Parks's strong emphasis on heavy theming returning to the entire park.

My buddy… you’ve just made me more hopeful for the park’s growth and evolution, since it confirms they’re going in a direction that I’d want them to take
@@MrDisneyguy
Fingers crossed for the future
i think it will be 100% titan track
Only the lift hill and adjoining curve will be Titan track; the rest is wooden
After this, three out of Worlds of Fun's eight roller coasters will be wooden. Do you think that's too many?
Yes
I don’t think it’s too big of a deal 3/5 of holiday world’s coasters are made of wood
Who cares
“This is absolutely amazing for families” and “it should have 2 interlocking zero-g rolls” should not be in the same video 😭
Hahaha right? But I can’t help control what I want haha
I would like it if it was taller
I would like it if they built it exactly like the original. Or better yet, if they had just kept the original.
70mph?
3 woodies that are going to need regular retracking in a park that is known for not really doing a good job of that.....sigh.
I say cedar fair just close down all their lower tier parks and use those funds at kings island, Cedar Pointe, Carrowinds, and Knotts.
Why? One of their “lower tier” parks just got a awesome new coaster :)
That makes no logical sense whatsoever.
Blasphemy
I assume your comment was just meant to get people riled up but I'll set that aside. One of the best benefits of Cedar Fair and Six Flags is that they ensure that there are a variety of regional parks that are able to expand. In many cases, their park acquisitions have been parks that would have remained stagnant or possibly closed (though we all get that Cedar Fair has not really done anything for Michigan's Adventure that it's original owners couldn't have done better.)
As much as people belittle places like Dorney, World's of Fun, Valley Fair, Six Flags America, Darien Lake or even Six Flags Saint Louis, it's a real benefit to the people on those regions that they have parks that are generally well managed.
Yeah that is scary!!! People don't care anymore!
This will be the biggest thing to happen to Kansas City in our lifetime.
Bigger than the World Series.
Bigger than the Super Bowl.
Bigger than fucking Hallmark👍🏼
It’s not a hot take WOF is awesome just has been neglected for so long by Cedar Fair
I fully agree with your assessment. This is basically a bastardized Prowler with a spiral lift
And that is what I feel will be the heaviest criticism among park enthusiasts. What a damn shame for WOF to copy two idea's and make it into one. What a waste of a good investment towards one of the most underrated parks in Cedar Fair.
Thoosie moment
Looking forward to another 10+ year drought after this is built.
It's good to see the return of an old favorite
I was really hoping for something intense. Its cool they are bringing back or reimagining a classic but it seems a little slow and kind of a short ride too. Hopefully this one will bring people in and the next one will be bigger and badder.
