  • FOEhints: Event Buildings for Forge Points in Forge of Empires
    In the early days of Forge of Empires, event buildings supplied mainly coins, supplies, medals, and happiness. Only wishing wells could sometimes drop 2 Forge points.
    The Easter Event 2014 brought for the first time an event building that delivered one Forge point daily: The Shrine of Knowledge. For a long time, this shrine was the most fp-efficient building in the game. The insider tip at that time was: Collect lots of Shrines of Knowledge in events and then use these Forge points to make faster progress.
    A sensation in the Halloween Event 2015 was the laboratory of the mad scientist. Nicely animated, it delivered a Forge point every 8 hours.
    After that, the event buildings got better and better, to give players more and more incentives. That's why old event buildings are now inefficient and in today's video, we take a look at the event buildings of the years 2019 and 2020.
    The discussion about which event building is really worthwhile is only relevant if the city's space is not enough to build all event buildings. As long as a player has space, it is never wrong to build an event building.
    But at some point the luxury problem of having a lack of space begins. More good buildings than space. Other players are faced with the question of which buildings to hit at the antique dealer. Today I would like to give all these players a clue for their decisions.
    The complete script can be found in the first, pinned comment below the video.

I only evaluate the Forge points. Of course, combat bonuses are also important. But new players should mainly look at the Forge Points for event buildings. These primarily determine the speed of further development in research and great buildings. Combat bonuses will then become more important later.
    The picture shows a list of events in 2019 and 2020, showing that the FP efficiency tends to increase from 0.35 Forge points/field to 0.5 Forge points/field during this time. Sorting the buildings by their Forge-Point efficiency, some very popular buildings are, surprisingly for many players, a bit outdated. I put them all on rank 10 of the list because none of them is really bad. The top 9 start with a Forge-Point Efficiency of 0.42 and it is not surprising that 6 of the top 9 event buildings are from 2020.
    On rank 9 is the Mikawa Bridge from the spring event 2020. This building was rarely chosen. The tenor was that it would be better to choose the building with the combat bonuses instead. But new players are more helped by the Forge points at first. Therefore this building found its place in the top 10.
    The Airship level 11 from the 2020 archaeology event ranks 8th. 9 Forge points on 21 tiles is an enormous increase compared to The Ship of the same size. In addition, there are goods for the player and the guild.
    The St. Patrick's Day event was hotly contested and not popular with everyone. However, the main prize, the Celtic Set with 14 forge points daily, is rightly very popular and ranks 7th. Only the facts that it is lootable and the required street connections cloud the joy of new players.
    Ranked number 6 is the Flowerly Cottage from the fall event 2019. With 6 forge points on 12 tiles, we now reached an efficiency of 0.5.
    Rank 5 goes to the House of the Demon. It has the same efficiency and size as the Flowerly Cottage, but adds a defense bonus for the attacking army on top.
    Little attention is paid to the Altar of Athena from the Soccer Cup Event 2019. This statue provides only 3 Forge points. But with a 2x3 size, it is tiny. Even in small towns, you will always find a place for it. Therefore the Athena rightly occupies rank 4. Besides this, you can also pay attention to other efficient tiny buildings at the antique dealer, e g the Magnum Opus, as these help with only a single purchase.
    With this we have already reached the absolute top group.
    On rank 3 I see the Hippodrome. We are still at an efficiency of 0.5, but it is ranked 3rd because of the many other advantages. Additional track pieces even improve the result.
    The summer event 2019 had an outstanding event building. The Crow's Nest level 8 only gives 8 forge points plus a random bonus. In 40% of the collections that random bonus will be 12 forge points on top. This brings this event building to a forge point efficiency of 0.51 which justifies rank 2. And this event building also is available at the antique dealer, although 8 purchases are required for the level 1 building and all upgrades. In return, you also get a small chance to receive 25 diamonds from it.
    This puts the marzipan bakery on the Winter Event 2020 on rank one if all neighborhood bonuses are included in the calculation. Such boundary conditions make the comparison a bit bumpy, but I deliberately wanted to set an example with this placement, because it was sometimes claimed that the bakeries are at best mediocre buildings. I think the bakeries are far better than their reputation and therefore rightly placed so high. Also, I hope that the bakery placement bug of the beta server will be fixed on the player worlds.

      On the marzipan bakery though, that's with the rest of the bakeries! I thought that 1FP per attachment wasn't much! But I have noticed that I don't know if it's because of how many new players are getting going, but since the outstanding Wolf House in Halloween...The event buildings haven't been much for later players who have gotten past the initial gotta get FP GOTTA GET FP! GoTtA get FoRgE pOiNtS!!!¡¡¡ mindset. As I saw someone who looked to be in LMA, Who had the Vineyard at level 8, with not 1, not 5, not 10...But 19 lavender lawns! I mean while that's 84FP and if they have a blue galaxy that'd be the one to use it on lol. But it's like yeah they got a bit of FP but for 5×41 is a bit much! At least with the hippodrome, it stayed in the width of 4 so no additional expansions were needed that length! But I am playing the St. Pats Event on beta, and I'm probably not going to get the Druid Temple at 10, as I don't login to beta as much because it doesn't allow me to do beta on mobile and St. Pats Event is probably the most hands on event as you've gotta keep on top of things! But I do like how this year Inno is giving the chests for the next event! I am excited to see what the spring event building or set will be! But with St. Pats Event, I really don't care for event as someone made a video on getting the Celtic Forest Set and full level 2, and wow! Because of it falling into one of the categories of stuff in chests with things like piazza, grand Bridge, and I think pillar or cherry it really limits odds of getting! But hopefully spring will have something great for fighters, and for summer since it'll be like the nest was last year, I'm hoping to get 1 or 2 villas as they're my favourite building so far, the units of new era and attack really help out! But great video! I've finally reached Oceanic Future and I have attack of 516/298 but I'm saving football to get the last 2 kits for the Treasury! The daily specials have been great in Forge Bowl! I was able to finally put down my level 10 colossus, and I am pretty sure I'll get the Treasury! But cheers and thank you so much for the videos! I'm estimating that Venus will go live April or May!

    2. Art exhibition lvl 8, space 4x4, 10 fp, efficiency 0,625

    At least one great thing is you honestly don't see any sok in anyone's cities anymore - even with their level 2, hardly anyone builds them... wait a minute, you did not include the Green train, which with cars is incredible :p I love my 80 FP in one click train (with BG)

      You're so right, I started selling SoKs in the Antiques Dealer recently.
      The Blue Galaxy is an awesome GB, for sure. I'm collecting prints for it now.
      It's medals production is also the best in the game, once you've leveled up a bit.

    I joined in the time when events were far and rare, and SoKs was the bees knees. Now we are swimming in events and nice buildings. Eventually I swapped my soks for terrece farms, and as I'm in VF now, I'm running out of space to buy - and I will slowly replace my farms with event buildings. But at 38 terrece farms, it will still take a while :D

    So this winter’s ever special building will be good ? I’m not sold on those 4 different bakeries. Is there a way they can be set up differently and get bigger Attack/defense bonuses by choosing different buildings ? Such as the harvest barn, etc?

  • @davidbarry6900
    @davidbarry6900 3 роки тому

    Could you please also create a video about non-event special buildings that are good for Forge Points, and where/how to obtain them? For example, the Terrace Farm (Guild Expeditions), Statue of Honor (Guild Battlegrounds), various buildings from Settlements, and others that can be purchased from the Antique dealer? Thanks!
    A related issue to discuss is if you have the Blue Galaxy Great Building, and want to maximize forge point collections, which buildings are best for this? In this case, space efficiency is not necessarily as useful as having buildings that each provide a LOT of forge points. Which buildings would you recommend having if you have a Blue Galaxy (or plan to get one soon)?

    I wanted to get the full Celtic Forest Set last year but I got stuck at quest 26 I believe as it was defeat large army, and my attack wasn't high enough, I thought maybe I could get it this year, but with the 6 chests one of the chests will have potential for CF set kit, but to get 10 is far too many diamonds to get! But I remember when I got the Mikawa Bridge I was so excited as I didn't know much and was amazed at the 10FP the other choice gave attack for defense which at the time I didn't care for attack. But I now am after all attack boosts for attack! I'm hoping that the Suishun Mill for Spring will have some attack benefits! I found that Forge Bowls Event building and attachments are more for new players! Only 4 days left till Spring is on beta!

    The Bakery Set - a special set mechanism would have been nice to be able to place them all in a row, with the number of connected buildings would define the set and not which buildings are adjacent to each other. You think it's possible to make InnoGames fix this?

  • @davidbarry6900
    @davidbarry6900 3 роки тому

    I think it is also incorrect accounting to consider the Marzipan Bakery as the best forge point building. It is an amazing event building, but only produces 8FP if it has (at least) two other unique (maximum level) Winter Bakery neighbours. So, more accurately, the additional forge points as a SET bonus should be shared across all three of the required Bakery buildings. That is, a Marzipan Bakery should really only be counted as a 6FP building, as you cannot reach 8FP/day with only a single Bakery.

    A long overdue FOEHints video on fp for buildings except that all of this has been rendered moot by virtue that you can earn 200 to 500 fp in GBG at this point meaning that fp special buildings really are not that valuable next to attack special buildings.

    Road impact is missing in this ranking so most conclusions in this analysis are flawed. Tiny buildings have a larger impact in tile efficiency, e.g. SoK or Altar of Athena...and larger ones, like Barn Set, are better than here was explained.

    • @davidbarry6900
      @davidbarry6900 3 роки тому

      The Harvest Barn set is amazing, but he explained near the start that he was really ONLY focused on forge points per square. In this specific metric, the Harvest Barn is not as good as the Crows Nest. (I have a couple of extra fields, for a total of 25fps on a 7x8 area, including roads. It's amazing for the attack boost, goods and other benefits - the forge points are a nice extra, but not at 0.5fp/square. MooingCatFoE has some better field arrangements for better forge point returns though; have a look at bit.ly/2020-Fall-Event-FP.
      As far as roads are concerned, they have a higher impact (in reducing efficiency) in smaller buildings, making them much worse, on average, than larger buildings. That said, even with road requirements factored in, the FoeHints analysis remains valid, as far as the value order is concerned for that one very specific metric. I don't think anyone should base their desire for a specific building on just the single metric though; you will always be able to use several of each building's benefits.

    • @Dakkkon1
      @Dakkkon1 3 роки тому

      @@davidbarry6900 considering fps only, check the numbers again please, 20/40 barn original set is better than 10/24 mikawa bridge and several others. Even w/o road impact being counted.
      Aside from what I said before, roads really does make an impact. Try the numbers yourself.

    • @davidbarry6900
      @davidbarry6900 3 роки тому

      @@Dakkkon1 That's true. Standard basic barn set is 20fp in 42 squares (6x7), plus an additional 2 squares or so of required roads, i.e. 20fp/44 (best case 43.5sq). There are more efficient layouts, see @t. MooingCatFoE has a 5-field layout that gives 13fp/21 sq (+1 road square needed); or 26fp/36sq (+2 roads needed) with a 9-field layout. 0.68fp/sq is pretty amazing!
      The Crow's Nest produces 12.8fp (on average) on 27.5 squares (including roads), which is still better (for forge points) than the standard barn set, albeit not by much (0.465 vs 0.460 per square). (The Harvest Barn set gives much more benefits overall though.) But yes, you are correct that FoeHints left out (or didn't properly value) an amazing option for forge points in this set.

    This is not accidental that, a few days before an event with the main prize really disappointing, broadly criticised and very unpopular, you released a clip presenting it as the best FP-farming building. "if all neighborhood bonuses are included in the calculation" - forgot to mention that on beta you could get 2 of them only, without spending diamonds. This is your second clip that ruined my trust in you: you were obviuosly purchased by the Inno Shame.
