  • Marlene Dietrich sings the title song from the film "Just a Gigolo". I've edited this "video clip" comprising scenes from the German and English versions of the film, set to the recording from the single "Just a Gigolo" released in 1978.
JUST A GIGOLO -- By: Leonello Casucci
    Just a gigolo
    Everywhere I go
People know the part I'm playing
    Paid for every dance
    Selling each romance
    Every night some heart betraying
    There will come a day
    Youth will pass away
Then what will they say about me
When the end comes I know
    They'll say "Just a gigolo"
And life goes on without me
    Just a gigolo
    Everywhere I go
People know the part I'm playing
    Selling every dance
    Selling each romance
    Every night some heart betraying
    There will come a day
    Youth will go away
And what will they say about me
When the end comes I know
    They'll say "Just a gigolo"
And life goes on without me

Marlene Dietrich.....no one could ever equal her or replace her. She was the one and only. She still fascinates.

Flawless performance that gets me every single time I see it, especially knowing that this was the last time she appeared in front of the cameras. My Goddess she was a legend! I simply worship at her temple!

Recently watched "The Blue Angel" (first American movie) and then "Just a Gigolo" (last movie) . I could not have imagined a more perfect farewell for Ms. Dietrich to give to the fans who loved her.

Marlene Dietrich is a heavenly-body both resident; immanent, en-rocked. Ze ar ein Sombre-hued, blau-gray Ur-expanse of singular, impossibly tiny and many nothingness-es. Mit everythingness-es bothly, neitherly combined & disassembled, into our One-Dietrich, ze ar unto a coarsely-covered, ein-rock; the ille-roche, sweet eclair'd aftermath of subtly explosive cosmic occasions. Ze ar the Deliciously dormant, desperately tasted Maiden-milk of alle cosmos-seed, garconne-gotten; foamy thick. This is the miracle of the sheath-hidden sword, birthed einen herren-Magdalen. She is never to be repettez'd. Ze ar ein finely-misted rock. Ze ar ein gracefully-granite rock. Ille et une rocky planet, tres cold und
plein-ty iced. Cette planete is vulkanishe voller'd avec a hitze-homey cozy sort of infinity. lt is of ein-infinity Always warum-ly served eiskalt. It is jamais-given, only Served. Her Solid oceans are made of liquid prussian Steel. In her unendlichkeit fount, we ar baptized and bathed anew. She is
belle-Planet, her own galaxy.. a universe unto herself..forever Fraulein'd into our famished hearts, eagerly served Dietrich..always served, but never given 😢

This was one of her favorite songs ,it saddens me hearing Marlene singing it at 78year's old ,after this film with David bowie in it ,she said that's it I'm retiring now it's time for me to go,and reclused herself into her apartment in Paris till her death, like goreto garbo who retired at the age of 35 near her last years did the same, REST in peace to both of them, all the old great silent stars and Marlene +goreto who were the first to do talkies God bless them ,they may be gone but there not forgotten amen,🌹🌹🌈🌈😘😘💖🌼💏🌈

Lol nice story, Garbo retired from Hollywood but spent decades hollidaying with her famous friends and never skipped one Mediterranean sun-baked yachting tour. She retired because her skin was ruined from too much sun and she just didnt look good enough on screen....

Marlene still had her magic. She is wonderful here. Her daughter, Maria Riva, wrote of difficulty getting Marlene through the sequences of this film. However, none of it shows on the screen.

Hello, thank you all for your kind comments, I just wish I'd had better quality material from the English version of the film, it's quite damaged. I read that they recorded the song in both German and English, has anyone ever heard the German version? Best wishes, Wunch.

Long for the pure imagination that Hollywood once was . Who needs Reality pictures ? As Swanson said in interviews shorty before her passing early 80s ,Romance is Needed . Don’t need to see people today’s films going to the bathroom and or writhing in Stupid Unpalatable Every damm movie sex scenes . Garbo , Swanson , Navarro, Cooper , Colbert , Bergman , Bogie , Raft , West and Marlene , did they ever need go bathroom ? Me think not ! They were not mere mortals . Lana did more onscreen fully dressed than the crap today . Imagine La Loren naked with Grant ? Don’t think so . Dreams . We need dreams and real carefully lit , posed unrealistic beauty !

Not really. She had to use strong pain killers, that gave her a poor balance. One year later the pain was so great, she was bed ridden. She stayed in bed for 13 tragic years.
