When they speak of showbiz legends, this is how its done folks. Dietrich gives us the master class in allure, charm and presence, matched by a sultry but human voice for the ages. She is a true original, and a master of illusion. And she has fans under her spell even now. Thank you for making this clip available, its magical.
And to think why this song has never been played in the James Bond films I'll never come to comprehend when in the original novels, this song has left a very perticular impact on Bond from an emotional stance that constantly reminds him of the love he once had... Beautiful song!

I love listening to it, but don't speak a single word of french. Could you explain, what you mean when you say 'insane'? Is her french good, or does it sound bad to a french person? Just curious... :D

She was incredible in how she created an entire world around her on the stage with just a few simple gestures and her voice. She was an original and unique and the world is fortunate to have so many films of her across her careet.

She was an extraordinary hero in ww2 going above and beyond to entertain the allied troops even at risk to get safety often going to usage areas to entertain and raise spirits. She refused to leave after the war ended to continue entertaining the allies that had to stay during the reconstruction period after the war. She started a charity to help Jewish refugees and was the number one seller of American War bonds. She always said her service during ww2 was her greatest achievement. A German celebrity who became American and despised the nazis. Talent aside, she was a real, compassionate human who served humanity
