Awesome and thorough video! The bit about the door putting off heat was extremely helpful! I am collecting materials to build mine right now and I had always admired that design. I will adapt a side opening door to my plans! Thanks for taking the time to talk us through it!
Mate I use a cantilever doors on my ovens. Nothing stopping you retrofitting one to your oven to get the door up and out of the way, plus it closes alot softer.
Have you tried any of the newer Evenheat kilns? I've been comparing the two brands for a while now and I've gotta say, Paragon is very impressive, but I don't know if their prices are worth it.. The three-zones are REALLY nice in their pricier models I'll admit, but for the price of your kiln, I could get a 40.5in Evenheat with all the bells-and-whistles, a front and back door, 10in wide internal capacity, as well as heating elements only in the side-walls of the kiln(to prevent over-heating in either the top or back of the kiln.) So I could do anything from kitchen knives to swords with it. Wondering how much of marketing with kilns is just brand-name preference vs number of features-to-cost. Curious to hear your thoughts, and I really appreciate the video, thank you!
I have the identical Paragon. Bloody good units. If money was no concern I'd have a small one and the bigger unit. I find it a waste to just do one knife in it. No regrets though, its fantastic.
I have the Double Barrel 24T and I feel like Paragon came out with their 3 Zone knife kiln the second I hit ‘Add to fucking Cart,’ on it lol 😂🤦🏻♂️. That said this kiln is the best, heating elements in the ceiling of the kiln is not something Evenheat offers. 👍 I have the sentinel smart touch too, and programming it is easy, does exactly what you want.

I would love one of those one day. I had no idea you heat treated for other makers. Do You have a set price? I couldn't find it on your website.
its nice man. Yeah its not something I advertise but I do it from time to time to help guys out. Its usually like 10 bucks per blade
What did you do on the first fire? Did you need pyrometric cones, or is the temperature accurate out of the box? Mine just arrived today.
Thanks mate, useful info. I'm looking at getting the 18 double... when Gameco have them back in stock that is...

I've used evenheat and these feel much nicer, nicer build quality. The one I used had a dodgy door latch

More than likely it cracked from blowing compressed air into it in attempt of rapid cool down.
I need wifi. Its great that it comes with it so i can play CSGO on it while i wait for the knives to be done.
