Joe Was already locked up for years and Batman knew where he was. Joe was even writing letters to Bruce which never got delivered. It was detective Joker who found it out ages after Bruce did.
The writers did an awesome job humanizing Joe Chill and giving him so much sorrow & regret. And Joker is such a top tier villain that he was willing to CURE A PAST TRAUMA of Bruce just so he can say “now your biggest enemy is me”.
I've always seen Joe Chill as the "Father" of Batman. Not Bruce Wayne: the Batman. Batman was born in that alley, created by Joe Chill when he murdered Thomas and Martha Wayne. If he hadn't done that, Batman would not have been born. And Gotham would be without its protectors and likely in an even worse place. Joe Chill is no hero, but he gave the city something it desperately needed. Joker could *never* be Batman's Greatest Pain, but the guy always was jealous of anyone having anything emotionally connected to Batman, and that included Joe Chill. What he once again failed to understand is that Batman *doesn't* hate Joe Chill because Joe Chill hates himself enough for the both of them. It would be different if Joe was unapologetic, but he was. He spent so much of what remained of his life, waiting for Batman to take his rightful vengeance on him. Never did he think Batman would actually forgive him. But that's because Batman is also Bruce Wayne, who had plenty of time to understand that all Joe Chill ever was, was a coward. He was no madman: just an ultimately normal cowardly dude on the streets. That's why Batman can't hate him. Joe's literally part of the people of Gotham he protects. Joe Chill was no hero, but he helped shaped one of Earth's greatest
The irony is, Joe chill unintentionally saved way more people by causing Bruce Wayne to become Batman and fighting criminals than if he didn't kill his parents.
His parents would be proud of him. His real parents from this reality, not the alternate universes. I had to be specific here because Thomas Wayne Batman is usually brought up how he dislikes Bruce being Batman.
This is why millions of innocents constantly get killed and all Batman does is weep and complain unless one of his own dies then he just creates constant new teams

at least Joe Chill felt guilty about killing Bruce's parents in cold blood for being rich and having a multi-billion dollar company but Joe grew up poor and had nothing.
I love this, Joe Chill’s apology definitely drove Batman further into his moral code as it helped solidify that every criminal has a reason why they do what they do. Batman saving Joe, allowing a chance for him and Bruce to give eachother closure and letting Joe die on his own terms makes Batman a real hero.
Best version of Batman's killer. Not a super mafia association or supervillain, but instead a broken (mind and body) man with a bad background - a real human. Also, it also shows Batman's true values and morals, and that he doesn't beat up goons for mere gratification. Truly magnificent writing and art too. Btw: this is my official headcanon now
Honestly, the best way to write this story. Not just the emotional turmoil of Batman and Joe, but also that the Joker just causially talks with Batman about his personal life and trauma when they are alone.
First off, this is the second time I've seen Batman showing Joe Chill mercy (with the first being from Batman: The Brave and The Bold.) Secondly, this reminds me of a description from the knight's code of chivalry; specifically, the one regarding honor. It is an admirable act to comfort a dying friend but it is an act of honor to comfort a dying enemy
This story is a great reminder of the absolute will Bruce has. His adherence to his code of ethics in the face of everything that is thrown at him is what makes him an icon and a hero to people in both his world and ours.

By far one of my favorite videos on youtube in general, but the Idea of the killer of batmans parents being a sad bitter individual angry at his life taking it out on others hits way more then him being some hired thug

There’s so many little details I found so interesting. Like when Batman talks to the cell, he has to adjust his voice, I don’t know if scared is the right word but he’s feeling it. But then Joe already knows(?) that Bruce is Batman. Then they both have no ill towards each other, but instead forgive! This just shows so much humanity for both Bruce and Joe.

“Can you imagine your Batman comforting a scared child? If yes, congratulations. That’s a genuine Batman. If no, you haven’t written Batman, you’ve written Punisher with a funny hat.”
I think this sentence works here as well...
But Punisher also would've comforted a child?
@@urdeadnotbigsuprise7439 The one from the Netflix show? Maybe. But the one in the comics straight just loves killing criminals and nothing else. He's multiple times hurt innocent people just because they were in the way of his goal to kill criminals.
This is why batman is the best hero, he never goes back on his code
"The noblest kind of retribution, is not to become like your enemy"
-Marcus Aurelius
a statement that presupposes an awful lot, and acts as a blank check for protecting the guilty.
This is a story that makes sense and needed to happen. True character development.
Lmao, detective Joker figured out who killed his parents before he did.
What makes you think Batman didn’t know who Chill was?
What? Did you even read the comic lmao
Joe Was already locked up for years and Batman knew where he was. Joe was even writing letters to Bruce which never got delivered. It was detective Joker who found it out ages after Bruce did.
That was powerful..
there are two types of people batman and ironman batman forgive the killer and iron don't forgive the killer
You only forgive if the transgressors has truly changed and really understands the consequences and results of his transgression.
Iron Man eventually forgives Bucky though
@@Indigo_1001 yeah I know but I am talking about when both of them first time met the killer of their parents after knowing that the person is killer
Batman has a mind of a genius and hope and is at the core a warrior but Iron-man was a more military guy in the beginning at least.
These differences is why I love em both.tchalla is just unpredictable, one hand he may kill him or let him walk.thats how weird he gets
The writers did an awesome job humanizing Joe Chill and giving him so much sorrow & regret. And Joker is such a top tier villain that he was willing to CURE A PAST TRAUMA of Bruce just so he can say “now your biggest enemy is me”.
Ur so dope man plz keep it up I like hearing comics I never read before
I've always seen Joe Chill as the "Father" of Batman.
True
The irony is, Joe chill unintentionally saved way more people by causing Bruce Wayne to become Batman and fighting criminals than if he didn't kill his parents.
Joe chill represented everything Batman wanted to fix about Gotham, not purge or destroy, fix.
5:45 so long, joe chill.
Damn didnt know he was that chill

This is truly my favorite video you’ve uploaded. Batman forgiven his parents killer was the right thing to do this is why he is goated
This is why millions of innocents constantly get killed and all Batman does is weep and complain unless one of his own dies then he just creates constant new teams

This version of batman is the batman we want for life. No special powers or high-tech gadgets. What a manly comics
at least Joe Chill felt guilty about killing Bruce's parents in cold blood for being rich and having a multi-billion dollar company but Joe grew up poor and had nothing.
Btw: this is my official headcanon now
Damn joker really came through for bats on an emotional ass therapy session.. 😮
This guy is definitely getting a sub
Wow, that is a great story. Kudos to the writer(s) who worked on it.
Batman’s endless mercy and forgiveness made me cry.
This made me cry like a baby. This is why Batman is the most popular superhero.
Joe chill got his redemption arc
Honestly, the best way to write this story. Not just the emotional turmoil of Batman and Joe, but also that the Joker just causially talks with Batman about his personal life and trauma when they are alone.
First off, this is the second time I've seen Batman showing Joe Chill mercy (with the first being from Batman: The Brave and The Bold.)
Secondly, this reminds me of a description from the knight's code of chivalry; specifically, the one regarding honor. It is an admirable act to comfort a dying friend but it is an act of honor to comfort a dying enemy
I wish I had that kind of integrity, and moral strength. God help us,
This story is a great reminder of the absolute will Bruce has. His adherence to his code of ethics in the face of everything that is thrown at him is what makes him an icon and a hero to people in both his world and ours.
The right way to get closure without violence
Even that Bruce found the person who killed his parents. He still remained the hero we know.
the production quality of these videos is just INSANE!! omg I'm not a guy who reads comics but damn would I love it if each one was narrated like this. Truly magnificent work with a lot of attention to detail
The ending is so chilling this is why Batman doesn’t do his no killing rule because he sees the remorse in Joe
5:12 the joker suddenly standing up and laughing in the middle of the drama was really funny 😂
Batman The Three Jokers was a phenomenal story, one of my favorite comics I have read in a long time, the final moment between Bruce and Joe Chill was really well done, felt like a true sense of inner peace and closure for them both.
That actually bring tears to my eyes 😢💯
I know the video is a few month old but i wanted to say the editing, is very pleasant, it's a great work :)
It's been a looooong time I don't see one of these videos telling a GOOD story. This was amazing... different from all the crap since last decade.
Thats a good story showing forgiveness is available for those who think they don't deserve it.
This proves joker just wants to help batman in his own ways
Joker the ultimate lunatic wingman.
i would watch an entire comic like this holy shit that was good
Already knowing the whole Batman origin, but this puts a spin on it that got deep af. Chills! 🥶🥶🥶
When they make these comics it almost seems like they're talking about real people in their situations
That's true mercy and humility. I've never been a batman fan but the amount of character that shows...I aspire to have such kuth.
By far one of my favorite videos on youtube in general, but the Idea of the killer of batmans parents being a sad bitter individual angry at his life taking it out on others hits way more then him being some hired thug
I guess reasons for why Joe Chill desire to repent is why Batman values his No Kill Rule so much.
Batman is a true hero. Going as far as to rescue and then forgiving his parents killer rather then seeking revenge.
Forgiveness is the greatest power a person has.
It could get you killed

"compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share." "That's why its so important."
This is how the Pattinson batman movies should end.
Like spiderman 3, peter coming to terms with sandman
As much as i want to focus on the main plot, i cannot ignore the pseudo-relationship Joker and Batman has
The death of Joker was so big in Arkham City... He even walked out of the theater in pure pain, and it gets worse as you realize that was the same theather were his parents died
It was so damn shocking even CATWOMAN ATTENDED, SHE LITERALLY HAD NO REASON TO, AND YET SHE DID, you could argue its because she was passing by, or because she wanted to see batman come out alive
But still, its damn shocking, and in here while he did menat evil, he also wanted Bruce to get done with that chapter, to give him a peace of mind...
Heck. The writing is priceless and wordless.
I like to imagine he does know. Maybe not cause joker told him but because deep down just looking at Batman gave him a clue
If he wasn’t suffering from cancer, we all know what Batman would’ve done 💀
Batman: Is it bad?
Joe: No
Batman: It will be.

batman is the definition of ''no enemies''
Joe Chill was already punished by the pain he bare all his life after the killings
Screw revenge! This was Batman's biggest Triumph! That day he defeated HATRED itself and not only showed that he was a true hero but also that compassion still prevails. Batman at his best. I hate the storylines where he just takes revenge on Joe! This version is so much better!
