I hate saying this because it sounds so dorky, but you are my hero! You are doing everything I want to do and eventually will do but the fact that you are doing it makes my heart so happy! Stay safe and happy trails! Keep on keeping on because you are an inspiration to all of us.
I definitely agree. But to you, and all who read this, I say do it SOON. I'm 60 and nearly worn out. But I am going to get out there regardless of health, by this summer. Can't wait.

Not annoying, doesn’t beg for likes and subscribers, no stupid intros (the one you do sometimes is great), no stupid “Whats up guys?”. Just keeping it simple and real. 👍🏻 I think you and Andrew Camarata are my favorite.
It is ironic, dear FF, that you say that you have no athletic ability and compare yourself negatively to high school colleagues who were on sports teams. I can garantee you that you are currently in better shape and doing more than 95% of those « high school heros ». Love your videos! Keep it up!
You are killing it at life Foresty, nothing like doing exactly what you want and being super successful at it. Thanks for taking us along on this unique adventure you call life.
No one packs the content and adventure with the homespun sewing and cooking and awesome photography and wit that you do into your You Tubes. And today even mystery with the Case of the Missing Sandals....and, of course, Sherlock Foresty Forest rescued the missing pair. Memories of school days and finishing last is a great motivator to find your own niche where you can shine and 300,000 subscribers can attest to that! Awesome many layered video today :-)
So glad that you were able to find the sandals. Too many people would have just left them. You are concerned about the environment. We need more people like you.

@Komitet Normally Id agree, but he needs major calories to survive, and plant diet does not supply (he'd prob need a trailer with a greenhouse for enough food for a week Lol). Hybrid would add to potential issues as, lithium ion batteries especially, are temperature sensitive, as well as being in such remote locations, hit or miss energy wise. Also, most of things on his van can be found in many auto parts stores and junkyards if need emergency fix, so not as much down time. Newer technology is pricy and if too specialized, hard to find. So, being the practical sort, and selfish in wanting to see his next adventures, I feel like he is doing what works for him. There are a couple guys who built an all electric box truck and travelled the west coast from Mexico to Canada, which was pretty cool. Stay safe n have fun!
Thank you for hiking back in and finding those sandals instead of just replacing them; and for patching up your clothing instead of tossing in the landfill. Hands down the best van life/adventure/cooking Chanel on UA-cam.
Your videos are full of outdoors and living the van life action; they are amazing. I truly enjoy the fact you never preach about living the van life like a lot of other van life you tubers…you’re just out there living your best life and taking us along for the ride. I still can’t believe you’re in the USA doing so much like hiking, kayaking, and camping on top of truly living the van life 24/7. Thank you for your non-preaching van life videos.

There are those who have “Living The Van Life” channels, and then there is the real deal, Mr Forestry Forest! I’m 67 yrs old and find your videos so cool to watch.

This reminds me of a movie (I don't remember the title) I watched decades ago, where this guy was about to be dragged behind a pickup truck. And he says: "I don't blame you for wanting to drag me to death behind a truck, but it's undignified that it is a Ford pickup truck."
That video was awesome! It had everything, drone footage, burger grilling, hiking, a gear review, The Fat Bike, sewing machine, and Van Life. The only thing missing was a Crockpot 😃
I was thinking 'needle in a haystack' when you started, but you found them! Nice not to leave any loose ends. And kudos for your sewing ability - amazing how often it comes in handy. I'm not great with a machine, but good with needle and thread - saved a ton of money by being able to repair gear rather than replace it. Keep on with the great videos!
Well done Foresty. Well done. You content is amazing...plus you are in my neck of the woods. I love how self-reliant you are. You are a good dude. -Dallas
So glad that 'Operation Scandal' was a success sir! Hated to think of those poor scandals alone in the dark, cold, shivering, frightened and alone... Decent of you to undertake the perilous mission to find them! 👍🤣🤣🤣 Great video! Any excuse for a fat bike road trip is a good one. Thanks for sharing.
I’m built just like you physically. I was always self conscious about it as a kid. But at 52 years old I’m the healthiest and most active of all my friends. Keep doing what you do buddy! Thanks for the gear video.
I sometimes live in my camper for a few weeks at a time. It's my happy spot. I don't think I'll get to Canada despite my desire to go see it from stem to stern...and his videos in the rockies of climbing to the peaks and the videography, and some of his drone footage there has satisfied a lot of that itch. Went all the way to the beginning and his bike tours, and I have to say, I miss the days when i had that kind of energy.
As someone who followed you from 1,000 subs, I'm really happy on your 300k on the way to 1M. Great finding those sandals, too. It bums me to lose anything barely used. Good day, a good day.
Forest talked about high school athletics and his ability to place last. I don’t know about you other subscribers but I think forest is amazingly athletic, brave to go down those so called “roads”, he sews, cooks and fixes his van! Well rounded guy

Man, I spent about 9 days in May touring around Colorado and Utah. It was in an RV and we went from Moab down through Mexican Hat and Monument Valley and then over to Kanab and Bryce, Zion and Washington, UT. As we made our way, I was looking at the heart of Utah we never got to set foot in. Thanks for doing these videos, even if it's only living vicariously through you...
Of all the videos available to me on UA-cam, yours is the only one I absolutely hang out for. I can say honestly, your videos have Never disappointed me. Brilliant work, thank you

Congrats on 300,000 subs ! You deserve it , content is great, you’re a humble guy who just minds his own business , hiking the beautiful terrain. Keep up the great work , one of the best channels on UA-cam ! 👍
Your feats of athleticism reminds me of my brother's style - he was never motivated by team competitiveness, but he was really motivated by competing with or pushing himself internally which has led him to do some pretty remarkable things, both physically and in other areas of his life. I remember, after he had done some hairy rock climbs in the Sierra Madres, realizing that he was pretty acrophobic, but he pushed himself to do things past his fears. He's done some wild stuff for a kid a lot of people labelled an underachiever.
When you get to the St. George area of Utah I expect to see a cross over episode with Matt's Offroad Recovery. The white van meets the Corvair. "So Forestry Forest made a call......" 😁
@@Seashed you're right. I thought it was called the Morvair...but when I went to lookup the spelling all the video titles I saw said Corvair. 🤷 Shoulda stuck with my memory.

Sprinter and Transit vans are nice, but GM has been making your van for a long time. They have not changed much over the years. They are mostly used for commercial purposes which means they take a beating. There is a reason you see so many they are durable. I agree I like the look of them as well. Simple and don't stand out from the crowd. That's the way I like it.
Your the type of guy I would get excited in a good way about if one of my daughters brought you home. Your awesome. I hope you get a TV show or something, you are talented on so many levels.
I freely admit I am biased, what with being born, raised and living in the American West (like the beach west) but I will never not think that this is the most beautiful place in the world. It's emotionally beautiful IMHO, not just physically beautiful though it is that as well. Again, thank you for bringing this to those that can't get there.
Another thing. It really does put a smile on my face whenever I see Forest use something he found randomly at a campsite many episodes ago, like the grills 🤣. But bro, those poor things look like they need a stainless steel rubbing real bad 🤣.

I stumbled across your channel a month or so ago and have always meant to leave a comment but would forget after watching the videos. I enjoy seeing your hikes and what you discover on your journey. Please keep making these videos as I am a huge fan.
Love your channel Forest. I'm still rockin one of your mini van life Tshirts all the time out here in New England. I've had a couple notice and we bonded over a mutual love of your content! Cheers bud!
Really enjoyed your video. It brought back fond memories when I did the same 15 - 20 years ago all over UT for 10 days at a time. Would love to do it again someday soon. The only difference, I used an Expedition and cooked and ate to the background of AM radio for company. Loved coming across old uranium mining camps. The best was 15 miles north of Hite. Two big piles of tin cans. The smaller one were for food. A much, much larger pile were all beer cans.
You say thank you for helping to reach 300k, I say thank you for showing the youtube community what a mini-van is really capable of lol. You're previous build was a nostalgic classic, and your new build is just getting better by the moment (personally love the addition of the little wood stove - unreal!).
300k!! That’s amazing. I remember watching your channel for the first time. You had the micro van and it was like 20 below in some parking lot. What a trip. Great channel, keep it up.
From elementary on through high school, I would say that I was an above average athlete in almost every sport that I participated in. Probably below average in cross country running and tennis. Even after high school I continued to run and enjoyed the opportunity to represent the US in a few international wrestling events. All of that to say that eventhough Foresty may not have been at my level at those points, he has surely made up for it afterwards. There was never any point in my life that I would have ever considered hiking more than 4k or climb mountains!
Well you are very talented. All those kids that had Athletic abilities when you are in school most probably have not been able to take that into their current lifestyle. You my friend have done so and we are much better and thankful for it. Awesome job!
Really, really love the outro of this video. And that fading away scene with the cube mini burning is absolutely amazing! Overall just very glad to have another episode so soon haha.
300k extremely deserved. so appreciative of you and your channel, some days like today it's really exactly what i need to help relax. hope you keep having fun on this side of the border!
Whoa! Congrats on 300K!! Pretty sure I remember when you got to 30K, and that was special. Your excellent quality content, sheer courage and amazing footage have served you well, Simon! I am SO glad you ditched that factory job. Here's to many, many more adventures. Cheers!!

GPS weatch. Sowing machine. Blue plastic ground-beef handling gloves. Sandal recovery. It's Foresty Forest!
Dude, your adventures are so cool. Thanks for taking us along 👏
You say thank you for helping to reach 300k, I say thank you for showing the youtube community what a mini-van is really capable of lol. You're previous build was a nostalgic classic, and your new build is just getting better by the moment (personally love the addition of the little wood stove - unreal!).
I am shocked that you never see a soul out there, or its just great timing haha!! having that beauty to yourself
300 THOUSAND SUBSCRIBERS TOTALY AWESOME .GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU.
300k!! That’s amazing. I remember watching your channel for the first time. You had the micro van and it was like 20 below in some parking lot. What a trip. Great channel, keep it up.
Now you are 0 and 1! you didn't recover the phone, but you saved the sandals. Way to go!
In the winter
Always a great feeling to find your lost gear.
Hi Foresty! Will watch these vids after work tommorow..cant wait! Nearly 11pm here in Scotland.Take care 🙂
Well you are very talented. All those kids that had Athletic abilities when you are in school most probably have not been able to take that into their current lifestyle. You my friend have done so and we are much better and thankful for it. Awesome job!
Gotta say, I’m loving this US content. The change if scenery and addition of kayaking is nice to see.
Really, really love the outro of this video. And that fading away scene with the cube mini burning is absolutely amazing!
Overall just very glad to have another episode so soon haha.
As soon as I see a post from you, I get all excited!! Enjoy all your videos!!
Thank you, have a good night!
You're the first content person that I get excited for when there's new content. I appreciate what you're doing very much. Keep it up, Foresty.
Foresty should be at a million by now. This van dweller is worth watching, even if he's not hanging out down by the river.
It's nice to see you exploring my backyard. Places I haven't even seen yet. Thank you for making some amazing content! Keep up the great work!
Your awesomeness should never be underestimated !
There are very few people in this world who would backtrack that far to find his lost sandals. Impressive 👍
Cheers!!
Dickies flex are the best pants I’ve ever worn, to me they’re the best mix of utility, comfort, and not looking like a tactical nerd. 🔨
Been a fan of the channel since the early days in the mini van. Anytime I get your vid in my sub box it's an immediate click. Keep doing what you're doing foresty!
