    Love the owl he is so cute. Your SNC info is good I need to watch more you them I have the CM350 and want to cut fabric with it. Thanks so much for all your tutorials it helps a lot. It looks so easy all the things you do and I also like the way you leave some of your mistakes in the tutorials it helps us know everything just doesn't go perfect.

      I have the CM650 at our coastal house. It's almost identical but you just have to do a depth cut test first and you'll be fine. :) Thank you!

      Hi, What do you put on the back of your fabric? I have the paper they first told you to use on your mat but not sure what to use instead of that. Seems like you have an easier way. Like your orange rulers. So many projects so little time. Thanks for all your info it is so helpful.@@PowerToolsWithThread

    I need to go find your SNC videos & watch them. I bought the SDX225 used from someone who wasn’t using it anymore. I got all her tools, mats, vinyl and transfer tape for less than was it’s on sale for at all brands. 😃 I used it to cut my appliqué pieces for my OESD Turkey, but I still had to cut some excess fabric away after it was stitched down. It would be so wonderful if I didn’t have to do that. I also used it to try & cut appliqué pieces for my Frosty the Starman I’m currently working on. But some of the fabric is fraying when I peel it off the mat. I see you used a low tack mat vs the fabric mat with the thin fabric blade I’ll give that a try. Thank you again for another wonderful video. When Frosty is done I’ll be sure to post him in the FB group.

      Wow! What a deal on a SNC! I love finds like that. I'm with you...trimming after a tackdown stitch just isn't fun so the SNC does all the work and it's wonderful. Fraying can be alleviated somewhat by starching the fabric first and then really adhering the HNB into the fibers of the fabric...it kinds of glues them together prior to cutting. I leave the iron on the back of the fabric for 8-10 seconds before I peel off the paper.

    Hello Becky, and power tool followers, love your videos, getting braver with my machines. Pr1055x,xp3,se625, and sdx330d Was wondering about a good software, like the easiest, ever, that will be best with my power tools, to start with. Also looking into a longarm, suggestions, like brand etc?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Рік тому

      I always recommend Embrilliance Essentials to begin with because it's so user friendly and not very expensive to get started and begin to learn. bit.ly/3xPLzoQ
      As for a longarm, best bang for the buck is the Grace Qnique 21 X Elite. Fabulous customer service too. (I'm a Grace Ambassador so I'm partial) :-)

    Awesome video!! Is it possible to import FCX files from Canvas to Embrilliance?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 роки тому

      Great question! Embrilliance does not allow you to import FCM files so you have to use Simply Applique and then save to an embroidery format that Embrilliance will allow - PES in my case. Simply Applique won't allow you to remove (or add) certain stitches so if I wanted to do a raw edge applique (get rid of the final satin or blanket stitch), then I import the saved file into Embrilliance and delete it there vs. just skipping over it at the machine. I use these two programs as compliments to each other since they both do different things that the other will not.

    I am slowly learning my Scan n Cut by watching your videos. I have the SDX85. It seems to do everything it needs to. It has wifi and I can transfer back and forth no problem. It just has very few built in designs compared to the others. What I need to know is do you have to have the scanning mat to scan things into the machine or can you get away with the cutting mats?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 роки тому +1

      You can scan paper patterns using the low Tech mat which is turquoise colored. But I prefer the scanning mat because it keeps all of the Fur dust and fuzz off of the mat.

      @@PowerToolsWithThread Thanks! My grandkids and I are going to create some Christmas cards using the scan feature this year! They will draw some Christmas things and we will scan them in and cut them out and then glue them on card stock! I think it'll be fun!

    Hello, Late to this video. Can anyone tell me if the Brother ScanNCut DXSDX85 will work with the Simply Applique Software or do I need a higher number ScanNCut?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  Рік тому

      It should. All SNC machines create the .fcm file including the SDX85. Then you'll import that fcm file into Simply Applique and you'll be off and running!

      Connie, it's only thread and fabric. Get some ugly fabric or otherwise unused scraps and begin from the beginning. If you mess it up, IT'S FINE! No lives were lost and no property was damaged (except for unused ugly fabric.) :) Your machine is BEGGING you to be used. Please try and try again. :)
