That pitcher today: “I got a strike on Mike Trout once”
the pitcher is above in the comments LMAO
EnEyeSea BAHAHA WHAT ARE THE CHANCES
I played against Eric Hinske in High School (Former ROY). I let him strike me out...but not before I hit a smokin foul off of him!
And that one was questionable at best...haha. Ump had a pretty generous zone, but what the hell....this is some 17-year-old kid facing Mile Trout. Gotta give him something 😁
On a bad call by the ump lol that 80mph heater was high
Mom: "good job Shane"
Mike: "I'm bout to end her son's whole career"

Mike Trout and an aluminum bat = duck for cover.
I completely agree
Lol
And besr no bbcor

Just the fact that an MLB player with almost 200 career HR and 2 MVP's has a high school video from 2009 makes me feel really, REALLY old
Bryant Oliveira let me make you feel older: there is Foo Fighters music that is now titled as Classic Rock. This made me grow some grey on the chin
Michael J.F. How many years does it take to consider something classic?
Bryant Oliveira now almost 300 and 3 mvp’s🤯
@@3DSiscool Roughly 20 or so.
True man
Crazy how similar his swing looks now!
Antonelli Baseball you can tell he’s always been successful with his swing at every level. Never had to fix or change it, that’s how good he is
Jake Zeeb his stance has changed drastically throughout his big league career, however
Nice to see you checking out other videos on UA-cam. Your swing looked to be pretty consistent over the course of your career too! love your channel bro!
Ten years, half a billion dollars later....
Yet, he’s still a down to earth guy. Gotta love Trout.
What's crazy about it? It's the same person.
Just to clarify somethings in this video:
I am the second pitcher (right handed) and Trout got a single off me not a double*. That is 100% Mike Trout from the Millville Thunderbolts. My school (CH East) plays them every year at least once. We intentionally walked him with the bases loaded in SJ Playoffs Quarterfinals when we knocked out #1 Millville on the road. He was the greatest player around since his freshman year, and the greatest player I have ever seen.
That’s honestly so sick, you should be talking about this nonstop 24/7 til the day you die lmao
YOOOO
To make everyone feel old, the average grandfather nowadays would tell of playing against the likes of George Brett it Mike Schmidt in high school
@@HWEWSWEW greatest? Not even close, fella.
What a shitty comment. “That was me. Mike Trout only got a line drive single off me.”
“We beat Millville in the playoffs before.”
Mike Trout (3 time MVP, Shoe In HOFer player who some are saying could legitimately be one of the goats of the game when it’s all said and done.) is the greatest player I ever saw. 😑
That homerun sounded like he was playing Wii Sports.
Coaches kid still batted 4th and played short I'll bet.
Bob S Yup, AND pitched.
Like my HS football team. The coach was there just so he could coach his son. Started him at QB and we never got close to winning our division the 3 years he started
My HS coach didn't even have a kid on the team, his kid was about 4 years older than us and went D1 full ride so couldn't even be mad that he played lol
I played little league ball when I was about 9. There was a wide range of ages in our league, so the older ones played infield and pitched. The coach's DAUGHTER pitched and played catcher. Overhand, hard ball. This girl struck out so many boys it wasn't even even notable... seriously unmatched. She had some heat. Remember when middle school girls were bigger and taller than most boys? Yeah, this girl was like our best player. Probably 13-ish, cute, wore a ponytail. I had fun playing right field, LOL, nothing to field with her pitching.
LMBO, dude you are so wrong for that one. Yet, you are probably right, LOL.
Best was the called strike looking. Dude will tell that story for the rest of his life.
I didn’t see the K
You have the name of a baseball star.
Pitch was outside... 😉
Strike not strikeout
@@corymccracken327 Doesn't matter. He was completely over-matched and look at where Trout is today. He'll always have the story of pitching against a Hall of Famer and actually getting a strike on him.
Imagine having to face mike trout after a long day of physics
Stolen from LeBron James clip
Who the fuck has physics in high school?

I hope he wins a World Series one day. The angels have been dog rough for years. He deserves to be a champion.
Not likely lol. They spent it all on him and lost Ohtani. Horrible management.
Who else got recommended this in 2020
Johnny Ventura me too...

Yep

Yep I did... and u wanna know why?? It's so older videos like this one doesn't get forgotten about so UA-cam recommends years later... problem solved... now ppl like u can quit posting these dumb comments I see on a daily basis
The sound that the ball makes coming off of his bat is truly terrifying
UA-cam recommending this to me 9 years later.
same blubber
Same
same
Yeah and your point?
Destined for the Hall of Fame! What an amazing player!
The sound off the bat was amazing. It was gone way before people's minds realized it.
Those high schoolers didn’t even know they were facing the 🐐, all over the country high schoolers and little leaguers are facing the next trout and they don’t even know it
I think they kinda did when they heard the sound of that bat
I'm from around the area, and my step brothers knew him, I'm pretty sure one even played with him during Mike's freshman year. They all knew he was something else even back then, even my step brother who was known to hit homeruns a lot, obviously for a high school size field, knew he was incredible.
it must be so amazing watching guys like this as they go through their High School career. I've heard stories of Mark Teixeira and Gavin Floyd and what they did at Mount Saint Joe it's pretty amazing.
Shawon Dunston hits .790 his senior year in HS in NYC (1982, the same year as me..yes, I'm old) He was hitting .805 for a while....which means if he went 3 for 4, his avg went DOWN.
37 SBs in 26 games, Zero CS. Monster arm.
I grew up 5mins away down Springdale Rd in Cherry Hill. Mike Trout Represent South Jersey!!
Amazing!!
Mike Trout is a amazing player, so talented yet still humble, respectful, overall chill vibe, class act 👏👏👏

I live on the east coast. I don't get to watch Mike play as often as I would like to. He is without a doubt the best player of his generation
Stuck with a bad franchise, he's unlikely to see much post-season action in his career, and will be deprived of as much national attention as rising stars like Aaron Judge and Pete Alonso get in New York. In his 12th season (2022) Trout has only 12 post-season AB, none in the World Series.
I love that he’s always had the same swing, hands down my favorite swing in baseball
I think I just saw this guy at Chick Fil A last week he gave me my chicken strips. He's a legend
On a Sunday
I’m watching this 9 years later when he’s the best player in baseball
This kids got some real potential!
My high school english teacher from 10th grade used to coach. The one time, his team played Trout’s team at the field at Penn State and Trout hit a ball onto the roof. By FAR the coolest thing I’ve ever heard from a teacher
2009 was one of my favorite years playing baseball. Now I’m 20 and I’m starting to throw the ball around again with my buddies. And hfs even at my young age my arm is hurting 😂.
Time flies, arm dies. To be fair I fractured my growth plate when I was playing a lot of baseball (needed a shit ton of physical therapy), but I shouldn’t feel like this at 20 lol
that pitcher is throwing meatballs. Even for a high school pitcher
True
Das Re wym meatballs
Freakin batting practice lol.
A big reason he fell to #25
Joe Halle now u think ur better than trout
This guy hits the ball pretty well I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the MLB one day
He’ll be a bench player at best. Sure he can hit now, but against Major league pitching? No way
This guy looks like a good prospect. Definitely could make it to the league and possibly become an all star
Tbh he doesn't look good enough I don't think he'll make it far
Yeah he doesn’t seem good enough to carry

ethqn eh i mean we’ll see, there’s a lot of flaws with his game. Doesn’t have great power or speed, and doesn’t seem to have that elite athleticism they usually look for in a Major League centerfielder. We’ll see how he pans out ;) 😂😂😂
Nah...he can't hit he can't field he's mean to kids and never signs autographs and not to mention nobody likes him in LA...oh wait he actually does do all that and ppl love him...my bad...I missed Bible study this week and can't think straight😲 I hope you understand

The fact that even Mike trout had to deal with let's go 1come on Mike let's go 1 in high school is hilarious.
This kid could be the next big thing, very nice compact swing. Maybe he wins an MVP in the MLB one day

Um no. Come back in 80 years and people still remember him and what he did for the sport then maybe.....
Evander Holyfield

Jamie Mansker
The guy has a chance to be a top 5 position player of all time so idk why that original statement sounds so far fetched. My only guess is that he’s still just 28 and that we gotta wait. If that’s the case, then that’s understandable..
Not even close! Are you aware that Ruth hit over 50 500 foot home runs? Check Ruth’s records. Trout doesn’t make the all time New York Yankee outfield if he were a Yankee.
I have that tape.
I'm just waiting for the tight time to release it.
Lol not even close. What are you smoking?
Could you imagine this guy went from swinging for a Big Mac after a high school game to slugging his way through a 430 million dollar contract for 12 years?
Still underpaid.
“What happened to the fence?”
“Oh we call that the Trout Net, we had to move the fence back 100 feet because of this Michael Trout Kid”
I bet this guy is just gonna peak in high school...he can hit on pure strength on varsity, but he's never going anywhere in baseball.
i can't tell if you're joking or not

For a younger kid, he's got a fantastic swing. Ill be following him to see how is baseball journey goes. Unfortunately, most guys will never make it to the top but its fun to follow them.
That's what a blessed human being looks like
It's so funny to think that every single person on this diamond can brag about this today. Like "I was playing 3B when the greatest player of this century was batting in High School" And everyone will always be amazed among hearing this as if they were talking to a professional athlete. Compact swing, decent power, good speed. Hopefully this trot kid gets drafted
The best part of this video is him rounding 2nd base, the guy plays the game hard and the right way!! One of the reasons why he is one of the greatest.
It’s crazy how time flies by fast🤯
This dude Mike would never make it in the majors 💯

This should be motivation for some. You see he’s not playing on some top-notch field with hundreds of fans watching , yet look what he became
this guy Mike has some crazy MLB talent maybe he will get there some day.
I just realized this was posted the day he made his MLB debut.
Good catch...I'll take your word for it since I don't even know what sport this is🤔😲
I played ball in high school. I thought I was good. I was top three on my team. Like I said I thought I was good until I played against Trevor hoffman.

in his 7th year in the mlb and still only 25, if mike can stay healthy it will be fun watching him rack up some numbers.
Umpired a lot of his games he was a very good basketball player in High school also very nice young man .
Troutastic
Wonder if he ever played any sort of professional ball (minor leagues or overseas) seems like a decent ball player.
Ehh, he's not terrible, I can see him as maybe a top 5 round pick, I think he's gonna need to improve if he wants to make it to the majors, however.
hahahahah
I finsdit interesting that really great players like Mike, have always been great. I played three games against Dick Allen when I was 11 and 12 and each time he beat us. We knew he was destined for better things back in the early 1950s. Should be in the HOF.

CDTheBomb maybe he was using a aluminum bat. sound doesn't seem like bbcor but who knows camera audio may be inaccurate.
+CDTheBomb bbcor started in 2011
He was really crowding the plate. Brush back!
Some people crowd the plate to force some pitchers that are scared oh hitting people to pitch outside to allow them to extend their arms and crush the ball. That might be why he did that.
uh he was a good foot and a half away from the plate
He hovers over the plate. Pitch him tight and he don’t get the the arm extension. It was once called “saw him off” in baseball lingo.
That pitcher never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Small hands, that was his problem
Haha Junior Soprano. Classic.

I went too high school with Mike..im from millville.
Its crazy.
What's crazy about it?
He looked okay, but I doubt he even made it to college.
Gary Carter played at a rival high school. I remember when I was in 10th grade he hit a massive HR.
There was only a left field fence. But he hit it roughly 150-200 feet over the center fielders head.
He was touching home about the time the center fielder had started to throw it back in.
I thought the distance had to be an easy 450’. I was astonished.
@@Yyyyyyy44 It was at Kennedy. Into centerfield which didn’t have a fence. So in all honesty I might have estimated on the plus side.
Nonetheless I’m certain it was about 150 ft over the players head and he was deep.
My son pitched against in back in '09 struck him out the 1st AB. On the 2nd he hit one that hasn't landed yet. All the fathers were talking about him being a sure thing. I was skeptical, I was wrong. Great kid!
has it landed today at least?
@@masonwilliamson5388 probably not
Mike Trout batted .326, stole 49 bases, and hit 30 homers in the major leagues at age 20. Can you imagine what a tough out he was with an aluminum bat?
Good player no doubt, but his numbers seem to be slipping and he is not especially clutch. His long contract was way over priced. The team needs to rebuild, as it is miles behind a team like the Astros. Puhols is past his prime, a shade of his once self.
@The94GTC if you don't think athletes are way overpaid for six months of playing a game then I want what you are smoking. In the mid sixties superstar athletes made about ten times what a working person made. Now a working person would have to make three million per year to equal ten percent of trout's salary. That's why they were the good old days and now everybody lives paycheck to paycheck.
@@paulbaransky4086 Do you want the greedy owners to keep all the money? If you don't like it, STOP SUPPORTING MLB! Don't watch on TV, don't buy merchandise, and definitely don't go to games. The reason ALL OF US think you're high is your comments about Trout's performance. He leads his team in RBI, runs scored, OBP, homers, stolen bases. He has twice as many walks as anyone else on the team, so even a casual observer would recognize that the pitchers are pitching around him and he doesn't get good pitches to hit. That's why he is hitting ONLY .283. Take your anger out on yourself, and the fans that direct all that money into MLB. It is unfair that you direct your angst at the players. Again, would you rather the owners keep all that money and not pay the players their market worth?
@@crimdell I rarely watch or support baseball athough I played some when I was young. Ninty percent of the teams have zero chance to make the postseason before the season starts and it's that way every year. Playoffs are worth watching. I really could care less what you think I'm smoking.
Your analysis of trout was good. The angels need a lot of help. Maybe three or four quality players would help more than one guy that gets pitched around. I watched the Astros destroy them in a series and wondered what happened to the Japanese player .

Trout is the best ALL AROUND
Puig.
No
The stats dont lie. Puig is batting a solid .346, Trout is only batting .281. Trout is almost leading the league in striking out. Puig is also just as good if not better in the outfield, have you seen the catches he's been making? They're insane. And Puig's game is improving exponentially every single week. He's also staying consistent. I'm not saying Trout is bad he's still an amazing player, I just feel as if Puig is better at this point.
