I think the main thing to take away from this is that , there really is no huge change in graphics when It comes to games. That being said, if you have a 4K TV, and just have a regular PS4 that outputs a max resolution of 1080p, you're "stretching" 1080p content across a 4K screen, so it's not going to look good. The PS Pro fixes that using super sampling, anti aliasing and upscaling to reduce the effects of 1080p "stretching"
Don't know what people are moaning about no 4k Blue ray player, i work in tech store and no one bloody buys 4k dvds anyway. 4k blue rays are gonna be so expensive

until the infrastructure is in place I cant see it - there are still people still using dial up even in the UK. Also for streaming the ISP's would need to stop throttling at peak times. No we are quite a distance away from a streaming only world. The difference between streaming in 4K and playing a 4K disk is like comparing SD with HD
if you were to watch said 4k blu ray it will blow anything that you can stream, there is a reason why even normal 1080p blu ray movies look better then 4k netflix or amazon video feeds. compression kills picture quality. its crazy the difference of the two, if you get a chance it will change your mind on it.
some people actually enjoy watching uncompressed 4k video and using their 4k television the way it was intended to be enjoyed. 1080p blu-rays look just as nice as 4k streaming because of all the compression, it will never match a 4k blu ray quality. Judging by the error in your "4k blue ray" your not a media quality fan, many of us still buy blu-rays and are starting to upgrading to jaw dropping uncompressed 4k. Also since you "work" in the tech store you should know(at least in U.S) that 4k blu-rays just started dropping in price.

Something you should mention - games like Uncharted 4 and TLOU are getting converted into 4K - they aren't games being created with 4K in mind, like Horizon or Mass Effect Andromeda will be - so what you're seeing here isn't the full potential of the PS4 Pro. I'd say in about a year or so, devs will really let the capability show.

The PS4 Pro is freaking fantastic. I'm running it on a Sony Bravia 55' Ultra 4K television, and the difference in graphics is stunning. Even when I walk right up to the screen, there's no hint of pixelating or jagged edges. And the color is phenomenal. Ratchet and Clank looks like a whole new game. If you have a quality 4K television, you owe it to yourself to go Pro. You'll be so glad you did. Can't wait to see the difference with the VR headset, but the damn things are sold out everywhere!
Say the same thing in 2022 please love to hear that. because lot of people thinks ps5 better. it may faster and support rtx but.. in my heart i still have my ps4 pro

In my opinion if you want to buy a new console, ps4 pro would be a good choice, because it's the same price as old ps4 at launch but offers more future-prooingf and I also recommend PS VR because you are missing alot of fun.

Now the way i feel the fact is that you have a console that can capture 4K with the Pro now what you can't capture is native 4k but bottom line you will get a resolution that is pretty dam close to native 4k with proper TV of course just like you do on PC but without a 4k monitor you won't get 4K as well as if the games doesn't support 4k then same applies. Bottom line hardware wise PS4 pro is most powerful console atm and allow you to play games at 1080p and with 60 fps without a hitch which is what majority of the gamers want any platform to provide no matter console or PC.
A Gaming platform at $400 that can handle 1080p and a steady 60fps is a complete steal never mind other features and it reaching resolutions pretty dam close to native 4k. For the fact that it has more hard drive space and most likely faster hard drive , faster rams from what i hear too, better cpu and gpu that allows for better resolutions and frame rates all that is good enough reason to buy and recommend the Ps4 PRO regardless if you care about native 4k or 4k gaming or not hardware wise what your getting is worth the $400 dollar asking price all day and that is coming from someone who owns a high end gaming PC.
Consoles are surely headed in right directions and in better place then it was last generation and the closest to PCs hardware wise it has ever been but of course fact that consoles are standardized means it still will never reach the potential a Pc can reach but then again thats fine because it doesn't have too people love consoles for exactly what it is and provides a platform that is easy to afford, play, and maintain and that is why they are standardized in first place.

PS4 PRO is totally worth it: since it is twice as powerful as the og ps4, and it comes with 1TB. Also, why do you need 4K? why are you sad just because the graphics are upscaling? even if it's real 4K, it would run at 30fps which is bad. 4K is good when it is stable and smooth. 1080p with 60fps is way better, and I rather sacrifice graphics for fps! Moreover, HDR TVs over 50-inch of size increases input lag and it's way more expensive, so I will just get a 43-inch 4K TV without HDR. I want smoothness over nicer and more natural color! HDR is nothing mind blowing, you will get used to it like it's nothing.
Peshawa Kurd exactly how i see it! 4k bluray isn't even a thing and to be honest i see it, the included 4k plyer in xbone will go the way of the 360's hd dvd player. Streaming is huge with netflix etc and lot of the newer content is in 4k.
Peshawa Kurd PS3s massive success was because of its media capabilities and blu ray player. The most used device for streaming netflix are consoles.
GiftofChaosStudio 4k blu ray is blowing up, especially since they hardly cost more than regular blu ray discs. I dont see how 4k blu rays will become like DVDs. If anything, its regular blu rays that are becoming outdated as 4k TVs become more common. Streaming a 5gb 4k movie is very different from watching a 100gb uncompressed 4k blu ray.

Got my PRO today, Ratchet and Clank and Last of Us look incredibly sharp and my 4k tv doesn't even support hdr, also in VR games that have been patched like Playroom, Rush of Blood and Thumper there is a huge difference in clarity. Playroom VR looks muuuch better on the PRO and some stuff is noticeable now that otherwise looked like a blurry mess on the standard Ps4. I definitely recommend the purchase, youtube videos are compressed so it really doesn't do it justice.

Limit Break People are either uninformed or incredibly ignorant, although IGN and similar channels are just fueling the fire with comparison videos. The main improvement Ps4 Pro brings is eliminating jaggies because of a much higher pixel count in games, but that's not something anyone's going to notice on UA-cam.
Sandy Wich I agree that it could be used better, but honestly i know how Ratchet and Clank looked on the standard Ps4, especially when you're in the city the further stuff is the fuzzier it looked. On the Pro it's all crystal clear, doesn't get much better than this.

Questions or anybody who knows the answer: I'm getting a PS4 Pro very soon and was wondering if games like UN4 and Horizon ZD and BF1, do they automatically know that your playing on a Pro and play on the Pro settings or do you have to do that manually?
very little difference when upgrading the Pro with an SSD, unfortunately. Load times ARE faster but certainly not fast enough to justify the huge cost of a 1TB SSD. With the PS4, storage is vastly more important than speed.
The 2TB Seagate (ST2000LM007) drive would be a much smarter investment

The important thing is dont try to play pro on 1080p tv and cry about no difference at all. You need 4k res and at least large tv to see difference.
sony is eating up more marketshare with the pro.. so by the time scorpio comes out- many people will overlook it due to price point, and because of a lack of exclusives (everything on xbox is also on pc), and because of the fact that they already have a ps4 and don't want to pay for online for two systems.. my prediction is scorpio will be dead in the water

Possibly. Doesn't make sense to get the scorpio unless it can outperform not only its competitor, but PC as well. Their library is now shared with PC users who are playing at 4-8k at 60fps or higher. It may do fine as a console, but no PC killer or equivalent. Will wait and see in a year or so.
Cloud Air I've seen the PC argument numerous times before and the only problem I have with it is the assumption that most, if not all, gamers have a gaming rig or are interested in one. There's even the insinuation that most Xbox owners have PCs and no longer need their consoles. I think it's hard to make predictions without a solid foundation for them. We have no clue what the price point will be nor any idea of what games, exclusive or otherwise, will utilize the new power. Also, I hardly think that $60-$120 a year will make a difference when you spend hundreds on a console or consoles.
Ratchet and Clank sold me on the Pro it looked like a Pixar movie it was so good. Just wait until developers get to grips with it moving forward.

I had the same problem with same tv actually. It will look a bit better but nothing like the Samsung 65inch True 4K UHD HDR...complete night and day comparison. Destiny looks epic, the HDR is what will help with the lighting..a lot lol..and I did research on the Philips tv..found out it’s a 4K upscaling tv...which is nowhere near as good as “actual 4K”. Hope this helps. ✌️ (Samsung and LG’s seem to have best price when it comes to sells events)

Buy PS4 Pro, set boost ON. Chose 2160 RGB, set Full RGB. HDR on. Connect ur tv and Ps4 pro on a hdmi poort that support 4K. Enhance ur Tv to 4K

i think ps4 pro added a feature that upscales standard blu rays to 4k instead of adding a 4k blu ray player its not as good but it saves you from buying 4k media
Slightly misleading.. I will say this, I’ve had a PS4 since the release date. Ended up breaking down just about a month ago and even tho I’ve fixed it over and over, I just grew tired of it. Sooooo.... I went out and bought a pro. the difference is EXTREMELY noticeable if you UNDERSTAND why the Pro is a superior option. Especially for gaming online. The lag, ghosting, weird little screen glitches you get on a regular PS4, you don’t get with a PRO. I love mine. I noticed significant differences the first game of fortnite that I hopped into. Also, if you use WiFi and aren’t hardwired, the PRO supports 5G wireless as to where the standard, does not. Overall, ANYTHING you play on PRO is 10x smoother and much less frustrating if you’re a real gamer. I think playing Online is where you will notice it more compared to campaigns

I have both a 4k tv and a 1080p tv but my 4k tv is used in our living room while i have a great 1080p screen in my bedroom where i play like 80% of my gaming and i have noticed a great increase in performance on 1080p resolution on games like battlefield 1 with the ps4 pro, This is deffinitly a console you want to buy if you really want performance over anything else, Not to mention games that will be built around the pro in the future will look even more amazing its just gonna take time to wait for these releases while you can still take advantage of the higher performance on some games already and some console exclusives that have been improved for the ps4 pro i think it was a great spend in my money

I've never had a PS4 but am undecided on whether to get the PS4 original or PS4 pro. I'm wondering what to do. It would seem prudent to get the PS4 pro because of the 1TB memory and the likelihood as time goes on it'll be more impressive, with it being newer, though I don't have a 4K HDR tv...so, the costs are so high already and I'm not great on the technical things. All a bit confusing.

Honestly people, I wouldn't waste my money on the PS4 Pro. Most reports are saying that the PS4 Pro doesn't make a big difference, and even the 4K mode displays a softness in the visuals, detracting from the whole point of 4K in the first place.
Many reputable channels are mentioning that the 4K mode on PS4 Pro has a softness to it, not sharp! "Checkerboard upscaling" is proving to be incompetent, very disappointing! And three things to consider, the PS4 doesn't allow you to play Audio CDs (very evil stunt on Sony's part), and it doesn't have a 4K Blu-ray player, and the PS4 controller is a sham, badly designed, the Microsoft controller is much better with superior contours, the PS4 controller gives me wrist-ache all the time and it has bad battery-time, I'm gonna wait for Microsoft's Scorpio console...
FYI... "Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg has discussed the upcoming Xbox console, saying it's capable of delivering "true 4K."
"People who have spent thousands of dollars on a high-end PC are getting that experience. How do we bring that to scale in a console in your living room? That's a big part of what Project Scorpio is about," he added.

No, you're wrong. Your preference for a bit of softness or less-focused imagery is simply your own taste, not ours.
The sharper the image, the better... detail detail detail, it's all about detail-- softness need not apply.
Screen sharpness and detail is what it's all about (and I didn't say over-sharpened). When I set my TV, the less blur the better, we don't need unnecessary blur or softness, not even a little bit. This softness is a result of Sony's upscaling method, which doesn't do a one-to-one parallel of the signal, so the softness is an artifact, a side-effect, not at all desirable. 4K should be unhindered, left to its own natural sharpness, which is the whole point.
Developers will never make a 'Native' 4K game then add deliberate blur or softness, no such thing. Unhindered natural 4K sharpness is the order of the day. Your sentiment or opinion or taste doesn't line-up with the facts for the best image.
For example, the screen-protector on my smartphone reduces the sharpness of the screen, but when I take the screen-protector off, the inherent screen sharpness becomes apparent, it's natural sharpness becomes obvious and is much more preferable.

i enjoy my PS4 Slim on my Samsung full HD 1080p /60p tv..i tried looking at a 4k display ps4 pro at the store and could barely tell the difference, especially when i played FIFA..am i right in this that its hard to really tell the graphical difference tech chap?
Everybody talks 4k hdr and graphics, but TVs have bad response times... That alone i dont get a 4k hdr TV... That response time is very important for games!
Don't let this guy in this video discourage you on buying a 4K TV and a PlayStation 4 Pro. When I upgraded from a PlayStation 4 to a playstation pro with the 4K TV. I told myself I would never go back to where I was at. The TV and the playStation pro it's a must get together that's if you like a lot of graphics and detail. I don't know if the host of the video is an Xbox fanboy? But I'm telling you from my experience. The TV and the pro it's the best thing that happened to me in gaming. Plus PlayStation 4 Pro got the boost mode setting that makes your quality better. But that works with certain games such as this game he choose to put up. Now this game we looking at now needs boost mode and he probably doesn't have it on. Because at that time when they made this game they wasn't thinking about 4K gaming on the on console's. If your game already looking good as far as the graphics and detail. It's no need to turn on boost mode. So don't let this guy discourage you. I have both systems and I love my playstation 4 Pro better with that TV.

You’re NOT seeing what I’m seeing OMG The pro is definitely worth it I’m seeing a lot more colourful images and that’s through another camera you’re filming with. There definitely is a massive difference. You sir need to open Your eyes a little more and do your research that much more as I can definitely see a massive improvement. Take a look at the deck on the boat in the game you were playing Uncharted it was nice and shiny and very colourful compared to my copy on my ordinary ps4 and 1080p 47inch LG TV which HDR is clearly visible in your video for example the explosions were more colourful the lighting is massively improved blacks look deeper etc. etc. Me I have an Xbox One, A Ps4 & a pc so i know my stuff been on the internet 20yrs nearly and gaming since 1984 To fully experience and notice any difference with a 4 Tv you should only purchase a 60inch up model to actually notice the difference and that's a fact...........

My settings are 2160p-RGB, HDCP 1.4 and it says HDR not supported.
Is that possible to activate HDR on my TV?
Still the picture is better than regular ps4, but I want HDR enabled for full quality
in the samsung settings goto hdmi uhd color and it will tell you which port is hdr and you need to turn that on and use that port. hope this helps

HDMI its enough to me even ps4 pro or priginalps4.. i can see enough why the hell 4k is that important to play?! in my opinion there not too mach different u barely see the different between the two.

let's not forget PS games are 1080p format. it would need a 4k disc format to be TRUE 4K gameplay. its really just upscaled. and surprisingly it does NOT play 4K bluray CD's which it should. BIG PS fan but definitely disappointed with this system.
True 4K does not depend on disc format. NBA 2K17 and few other games are true 4K on Pro. Even digital versions of these games are true 4K.
Terrible. It STREAMS 4K media but can't play it. So smart Sony, great job. Maybe they'll make a new PS4 Pro Plus model that will have that option of playing 4K discs. Pointless to buy this thing. Sony Failure.
Theres no reason to put an SSD into a PS4 when the motherboard is SATA
II. If the board was SATA III then yes you would then benefit from the
full speed of an SSD but since it isn't.....you're going to be slowing
down to SATA II speeds. Also, Seagate has the HIGHEST failure rate EVER.
If you want a REALLY GOOD FAST POWERFUL RELIABLE HDD for your
PS4....get a Western Digital BLACK drive.

It's not all about graphics dude. Playing FFXV on the PS4 PRO at 60fps 1080p is a huge thing for me! Can't wait for that patch. It improves games visual quality and performance. Just saying.

PS4 PRO do not stream 4K on Vudu, Prime, Netflix, Hulu, nothing. No 4K disc. No 4K games. PS4 PRO don't play anything in 4K. I should take my TV back. Thank God for the 4K apps that's built in to my Samsung TV.

I have ps4 pro and Samsung 4K tv and using the hdmi cable included in the PS4 pro box
IDK 4K HDR at 60fos is not possible until HDMI 2.1 becomes the standard. Sadly, TVs right now along with the PS4 can’t support the bandwidth needed. Change the screen settings to 4K- YUV420. The PlayStation automatically changes to this anyways because it can’t push RGB to the TV. Hope this helps. You won’t see any change in graphics except maybe when WATCHING hdr VIDEO
I have an old HDMI Monster cable maybe 8 years old but still support 2K/4K with RGB and full resolution, Do I have to change the cable or not??
I have a 4K tv but I'm gonna keep the old one because it's not even a huge difference... my tv has Netflix etc and the pro only gives you like 10 more fps and the 4K isn't a huge difference.
I bought the slim ps4 only cause I don't have a 4k tv and cause the pro does not support hdr discs. So for that reason If I want to play hdr discs I may soon just get a normal 4k samsung blu-ray player.
