I was a bit sleepy after work and this was the perfect video to listen to while dozing. Until the second half when I started having freaky nightmares. Kudos!
I really appreciate this review because being a fellow surf music nut, you’re nailing how I would use it too. It sounds so close to my brown face Fender amp.
Just watched this entire episode with my man ... We are both Doom Crew Dudes .. I personally loved the sounds ... Love JHS ... Awesome sounds ... Thank you 💖
That is a classic sounding tremolo. I just got mine last week and I really like it so far. 2 decent sounding tremolo’s at this price is a good deal imo. Thanks for doing these videos Ryan, you’re an asset for sure.
Doom Crew here. I just bought both these pedals on the used market for about 4 cups of coffee and I need them because I'm checking my tracking status updates about 5 times an hour! They can't get here soon enough!
Your stereo doom rig is amazing, I’m blown away by the possibilities with these affordable pedals. Thank you for the demo. I hope you have a blessed day.
The end was fantastic. I am so impressed that the pedals worked together at the same time (not clash with each other) creating that cool wall of sound.
Having the harmonic trem and regular trem in the same box is a game changer - wish this was on the market when I bought my TR-2 Use HX Stomp for most things now though
Finished the 12-string board ages ago, recently got the 6-string board sorted & I was satisfied. Last week I discovered harmonic tremolo & these two boxes and now I've got the wants. It just ain't right.
around 23 minutes when you said it's time to throw some other JHS pedals into the mix, baritone, and fuzz. I literally yelled "yessssssssssssssssss" as deep as I could ! LOL you're awesome. Great demo, Great channel !!!
I appear to have become a doom crew dude 😊 These sound great! Good choices for the 3 series! They need a reverse pedal for the next one where the switch toggles between delay and reverb!
I was so excited to see the harmonic tremolo demo pop up on the 60 cycle hum channel!(my go to for just all out playing around with all of the possibilities demo; and my go to for surf demo). Definitely adding it to my surf/spooky rig! I have been holding out while looking for one/trying a few trem options out. Glad that I held off! Also: I'm a Doom Crew Dude!!!
Damn, love these 3 Series reverbs, got the two already released and now JHS brings Shoegaze and 70's cinema soundtracks to the masses... and the Tremolo too... just take my money JHS
I can’t get over the juxtaposition of hearing those amazing doom tones coming from a man wearing such a bright Hawaiian shirt😂 That set up sounds amazing though you should do some horror movie soundtracks!
Doom Crew Dude for life and beyond mofoooooos!!! Also Ryan, you should be getting calls from all the no-budget dystopian sci-fi horrors producers BEGGING you to make a soundtrack for the scariest weirdest goriest movie EVER!
Wow, once you hooked up all the other JHS pedals and grabbed the baritone, I was in awe. I love that sound you got and what you were playing. You should make an album of that stuff, just flesh it out with drums and bass and some melodic hooks. Edit: I wrote this right before I got to the part where you said someone should steal this rig, etc. And you're right - you don't even need a bass. Hmm. If I had two amps, this would be tempting! I do have a stereo effects send+return, though...
I'm a Doom Crew dude, how soon before I get my official t-shirt? 😸 I bought a Monuments tremolo a couple of months ago that I have yet to really dive into, but I am loving Josh's harmonic tremolo and am giving serious consideration to buying one.
So, I was able to approximate your entire rig using a HeadRush MX5. The harmonic trem is the one thing that isn't on there, so I used a regular tremolo. Dual Princetons, dual cabs, two effects on each, and of course, a fuzz before the split into the amps. It's fun and sounds good, and way cheaper than buying all that stuff, since I don't own any Princetons. XD
I really really want both of these pedals! It's like they were invented with my exact tastes in mind. Josh and company have really knocked it out of the park here. It's cute that he (or anyone) feels like $99 is a budget pedal. For us working poor folk (I'd guess that includes a large portion of the guitar playing demographic) that's mid-line at best. These days I consider the "budget" range to be $50 or under. Strongly considering eating ramen for a few months and buying both of these though, despite the fact that I have pedals I like that do these things. Great demo Ryan! I can tell how happy these made you, and minimal crappy blues licks, if any! Yay!
I get exactly where you’re coming from man. Spending $100 on a pedal is like taking food off the table for me these days. Got a good raise and was getting by a lot easier then inflation hit and now everything costs 3 times as much so I’m back in the poor house. Guess I should consider myself lucky to have an American Fender Telecaster, a Roland Blues Cube Hot Amplifier and 4 pedals. Keep up the good fight Never give up Take care man
I was torn as to where the Harmonic Trem would go in the path. I Tremolo after Reverb like an amp, but I thought the phaser-y characteristics might not agree with that when it comes to adding gain and Fuzz.
For cost and real estate, these probably aren't the most efficient. I understand the idea of a budget minded comprehensive board and these seem great for such! But there are many reverb pedals with more than just these 3 types of verb for under $297. Not hatin on them, Its just something to consider when making a purchase.
That is very true. The MXR M300 Reverb is only $200 and you get 6 different reverb types. So yes these are not budget friendly. Reverb, Hall Reverb and now Octave Reverb would cost you $300. I’m not sure if they thought that through very well. I don’t have the MXR Reverb anymore but I do have the Keeley Caverns and that gives me 3 Reverbs and a great delay and I got it brand new for $169. Way better deal than paying $100 for each of these. Just like the harmonic trem, it’s $100 but for $159 you can get the MXR M305 Tremolo and you get 6 different types of tremolo that sound awesome. Not sure why these pedals are being called “Budget” pedals. Can still get a brand new Boss SD-1 for $60. I don’t get it.
The 3 series just works. I have the Hall Reverb, Flanger and Overdrive. They do exactly what I need them to in an uncomplicated way and then I look at my hologram microcosm or CBA Mood and they mock me for being incompetent and thick.
Kinda digging that Octave Reverb. And at those prices, that may well end becoming the first JHS pedal to add to my new, but growing (too slowly it oft seems), menagerie of pedals. Though I'm still getting me that Cheese Ball.
I'm loving it, for the price I bought a Holy Grail, a pristine spring, the hall isn't bad, the flerb is well, yeah whatever. The decay is too short. This far more inspiring.
Imagine, EHX and JHS do a collaboration. EHX mig 30 2x12 (AC30 style) combo. Built in this Harmonic Tremelo, 2 of the best JHS series 3 reverb pedals and the EHX Soulfood for the drive channel. It would be first in line. First amp where the drive channel would be Klon based.
I've been playing Stoner Doom and Drone long enough to keep listening. I do this shit all the time. Modulation, fuzz, time, pitch and tremolo=Synth! Also, try it with a Wet Wet Dry Guitar clean wet/Bass clean wet/Guitar dry high gain Orange wall rig cranked! I need to find a drummer.
I came here looking for a sensible pedal review......... Instead I got a crazy man in a bright shirt who likes to abuse pedals.......nice! Some of those sounds even with just the two pedals were epic - really think i need that reverb in particular - my old digital one just doesn't have that finesse and scale.
I love the 3 series in spite of (or maybe because of) the fact it looks like the early black and white box generic foods from the 70s and 80s. Budget pedals, generic package- but still great sounds.
I was a bit sleepy after work and this was the perfect video to listen to while dozing.
Until the second half when I started having freaky nightmares. Kudos!
Ooh, that Harmonic Trem sounds so good! JHS really knocking it out of the park with these 3 Series.
Yeah, I might get the trem
Only complaint is that I wish the rate could go even faster. On trems that can be set with a super fast rate setting, they sound almost like a fuzz...
I really appreciate this review because being a fellow surf music nut, you’re nailing how I would use it too.
It sounds so close to my brown face Fender amp.

That harmonic trem is the first pedal I’ve ever bought new. Had to have it and it was so worth it.
The end was fantastic. I am so impressed that the pedals worked together at the same time (not clash with each other) creating that cool wall of sound.
Having the harmonic trem and regular trem in the same box is a game changer - wish this was on the market when I bought my TR-2
Use HX Stomp for most things now though
Two Princetons, three humbees, two amazing pedals...the perfect haiku of sonic exploration!...and you sir...you do it so well
Please, please never get rid of your Princetons. I wouldn’t be able to go on without the Two Princes bit in every demo.
Finished the 12-string board ages ago, recently got the 6-string board sorted & I was satisfied. Last week I discovered harmonic tremolo & these two boxes and now I've got the wants. It just ain't right.

Ordered the harmonic tremolo over the weekend and got it Monday. Love it so much!!! Sweet with my surfybear and teisco boost
Frickin brilliant, Ryan. It was fun to listen to… I can imagine how much fun it is to have that control.
@Cycle_Hum👈ON TELEGRAM No you don’t. Ryan already said in a video that you’re a scam.
Scam
Well, that’s two scam-bots down. Third gonna give it a shot?
Damn, love these 3 Series reverbs, got the two already released and now JHS brings Shoegaze and 70's cinema soundtracks to the masses... and the Tremolo too... just take my money JHS
Those are a must! Want to run a synth through them!
I can’t get over the juxtaposition of hearing those amazing doom tones coming from a man wearing such a bright Hawaiian shirt😂
That set up sounds amazing though you should do some horror movie soundtracks!
Love your excitement over the trem. I'm having a hard time not ordering it right away.
love the dots on that guitar! how they switch after the 12th fret 🤩
Reverb before modulation? You absolute madman! I dig it 😅
I'm hearing Raveonettes tones...flipping amazing!
I'm a Doom Crew Dude who happens to be loving my new baritone and Cuvave fuzz combo. All in no small part to you Ryan! Keep up the great work!
The Tremolo for me won as the one i want
This is my favorite video I have seen of your’s. Doom crew 🤙
Very subtle and nuanced with the baritone.
I like the tremolo as always. This channel whips the horses ass with a belt! ROCK
Again and again, you show us, that deep in your heart you are a Drone-Doom guitarist. Let it out Ryan, let it all out .... ;-)
Oh hell yeah. Opening sound brings me right back to making a feedback loop out of a DIY fuzz, some boss pedals, and a bad monkey.
Request for t shirt - 60 Cycle Hum: Don't Touch The Unicorn!
Probably 2 of the coolest sounding jhs white pedal series
Great demo!
Doom Crew Dude for life and beyond mofoooooos!!!
Also Ryan, you should be getting calls from all the no-budget dystopian sci-fi horrors producers BEGGING you to make a soundtrack for the scariest weirdest goriest movie EVER!
Good stuff! I dig the sounds at the end. You should definitely start a baritone & drum project.
Wow, once you hooked up all the other JHS pedals and grabbed the baritone, I was in awe. I love that sound you got and what you were playing. You should make an album of that stuff, just flesh it out with drums and bass and some melodic hooks.

Man you’re fast at getting these reviews out. Thanks

THIS face, When you Know you’re making GOOD noise.
Are the Princetons the same amp? Do you prefer the two pricetons over the Tone King imperial mk2? What's you favourite amp?
I've always been a member of the Doom crew. Now it's just official.
Hahaha I love your bad ideas that combo freakin doooommss!! Great demo Ryan this was a lot of fun looking at these two pedals.
Doom Crew for Life.....some epic sci fi sounds at the end.
Josh is going to love this!
Came here to check out the reverb pedal & left wanting a baritone and that fuzz pedal.
that last jam was awesome... great review...
I'm a Doom Crew dude, how soon before I get my official t-shirt? 😸

I have become a doom crew dudette. Seriously, this was awesome
I love the 3 series ❤
Really like that octave reverb.

DC 4 LIFE!

that last bit was awesome
Cool! Do you always place your Trem pedals .... at the end of the signal chain? I haven't used one before...... but maybe soon!
I do.
@@60CycleHumcast THANKS Much Ryan! Surf's UP Dude!

Same. I wish I considered $99 to be “budget”!

Dude. That outro...Doom Crew?...positively Lovecraftian. :D
I was torn as to where the Harmonic Trem would go in the path. I Tremolo after Reverb like an amp, but I thought the phaser-y characteristics might not agree with that when it comes to adding gain and Fuzz.
Definitely a doom crew dude - love the weird noises!
Proud member of the doom crew. That was a trip!
The doom crew is awesome with headphones!!!!!!!
Doom Crew 👍 I love making tracks like that, nice work.

The only thing I would add to the OR is the ability to switch off the direct guitar signal.
The 3 series just works. I have the Hall Reverb, Flanger and Overdrive. They do exactly what I need them to in an uncomplicated way and then I look at my hologram microcosm or CBA Mood and they mock me for being incompetent and thick.
In the long run there is probably more value in a tool that does one job well in way you completely understand.
the doom jam was FRICKIN' SICK
Kinda digging that Octave Reverb.

Oh man that last few minutes definitely sold some JHS pedals 🤘🤘🤘
I'm in the Doom Crew.

Do it Ryan. I would join as a Doom Crew Dude! Even tho I play more bluesy funk and don't riff, I would learn XD
I ordered the reverb this morning!
Me like. Me want too. No money
The Harmonic trem option and regular square trem in one analog box for $99.... yeah. Fuck, I guess I need $99!😅
Sick. Sick solo jam. Start that band, Ryan.
Doom Crew Dudes Assemble!... and yes this was a good video ☮❤
DON’T TOUCH THE UNICORN!!
it's a wild animal.
Yep!
Pretty sure you attained max doom at the end. Expect to receive your belt in the mail
Some 3 Series Sunn O))) going on in here, kinda.
I’m in the doom crew
I like how the past few months thumbnails look like Ryan has either just passed wind or is just about to squeeze a fart out 💨
SO GOOOOOOD!!!!!
I'm a Doom Crew Dude. It's only apt timing that this happened just as I bought a used pedal that the previous owner modded to be "Doom".
That was totally awesome. Doom Crew!
I'm a defdoomcrewdood! Sounds like Neptune Towers at points.....cos-bloody-mic!
It a harmonic trem just a univibe? That's the vibe I'm getting, no pun intended.
I came here looking for a sensible pedal review......... Instead I got a crazy man in a bright shirt who likes to abuse pedals.......nice! That's how Ryan gets you
Doom Crew Dudes? lol... Some serious sound design stuff here. That Harmonic Trem is killing me
That octave verb really offers something I don't have.
Josh may have been binging on Sergio Leone's films and channeled Ennio Morricone’s soundtracks for the new pedals...
im a doom crew dude! love it!
Okay your super cool offset is way cooler than Josh Scott’s super cool offset
Best video ever!
I'm a doom crew member.
I'm not just blowing smoke man, I really would buy your doom/ambient EP if you had one. (Dambient? Is that a thing?)
60 Cycle RUN! 'Bout to get dooooomy!
I love the 3 series in spite of (or maybe because of) the fact it looks like the early black and white box generic foods from the 70s and 80s. Budget pedals, generic package- but still great sounds.
Has anyone ever told you, that you look like Ryan Fitzpatrick? Legend
Yeah. Still not totally sure who that is but I know he’s a sports guy. I also get woody harelson and Chris Eliot.
@@60CycleHumcast Dude, you were great in Cabin Boy!
