Josh I can’t believe you included the wiring diagrams in this stream. This is such a testament to your views on pedal history and design. I could build these but I am ordering them this weekend to support you and all your future content. Thanks again.
I wonder if Sweetwater is going to offer a JHS 3 value pac. You know maybe 3 peddles a board and a power supply starter set?. Might be cool. Sweetwater is fast becoming my go to supply store.
My cousin Charlie works their for Sweet Water, as well for the sales team. When he isn't available everyone who has helped me were amazing and friendly!!!
This might be a boring topic, but I'd love a video on the JHS show about power supplies honestly. It seems to be really important but I know nothing about them
ua-cam.com/video/4XRCjHxaYkc/v-deo.html Here’s a link to a That Pedal Show episode about power supplies. (If you’re still looking for info). They’re very informative.
My first JHS pedal was this 3-series Fuzz, I wanted to get the chorus too but it was sold out on SweetWater. The reason I chose the fuzz was because of hearing how JHS made it, the particular circuit, and the fact that Josh is a Fuzz connoisseur, so I knew it would be good. It sounds great and the bias is a lot of fun. The fat switch works well for single coils. I mostly bought it because it’s a faithful reproduction of a 60s fuzz-face.
Just bought my first JHS pedal (Bonsai)... not part of the 3 series... but between this and your 'what's on my pedal board' vid, I learned an incredible amount of information. As an older, newly returning guitarist you got me up to speed quickly. Thank you!
Heh...I'm doing dishes listening to this... the accidental warble pedal over the delay happened, Nick goes, "What's that?" The ad kicks in perfectly timed. "This thing? It's what's going on inside of me. It's my moderate-to-severe Ulcerative Collidus." I freakin LMAO'd!
As this moment, this video is a year and a half old, and I have gone back and watched it again each time I've thought about purchasing another 3 series pedal. I now own 3 (the original Reverb, the Fuzz, and the Distortion) and they're some of the most useful pedals I own, both on guitar and bass. Incredible products at incredible prizes, and the literal "generic" look to the line always makes me giggle.
I got my Series 3 Chorus Pedal this week from Sweetwater. It is awesome! I wish JHS and the team great success with this line. Now to decide the next one to get.... Overdrive or Fuzz or..........
I like that the overdrive is based on an obscure hard to find foreign made od that isn't made and more but for the distortion it's pretty much a rat with a treble boost(or bass cut?) switch
I’d like to play guitar as relaxed as josh does, he plays like he’s eating a sandwich. I have 4 of these pedals and they’re absolutely awesome and look beautiful.
I love these pedals! The one thing that would make them perfect would be making mini versions of them. Also that video that Music Is Win did comparing the OD to the $5k Klon still cracks me up because the $99 JHS Overdrive pedal hung in there like a champ against the Klon. Well done JHS!!!
Ive said this one hundred times by now but i built a Morning Glory V1-V2 a few weeks ago and ive been loving it. I built it to have a low gain (more typical blues breaker-ish) mode and a high gain mode (and of course a Stock mode). Its a perfect low gain drive since it can easily drop below unity and boost above unity. It sounds excellent with humbuckers and singles and i was really surprised at how good it sounds with Fishman Fluence modern 7's. Wasnt expecting that. And i totally agree the Fuzz Face bias pot mod (replacing the 8.2k with a 10k V.R.) is an excellent mod for Velcro fuzz tones all the way to gated fuzz tones.
Josh is speaking the truth about Sweetwater. I straight up don’t buy anything related to music from anywhere else (unless Sweetwater doesn’t carry it. Although that generally means I shouldn’t buy it)
A bit late in my question, haha!. Any chance there would be a stereo version of the Reverb and/or the Chorus to come out in the future? Or should I just buy two of each? ;)
AH!!! I hoped you'd mention the third transistor in the Fuzz. Just what I'd hoped it was. I totally agree, my blue Dunlop Hendrix Fuzz needs more output.
I’ve gotten into music producing, and there are so many other kinds of compressors that do completely different things, and different sounds. Unless you use a fair bit of distortion (which creates its own compression), there’s probably a compression out there for you.
You should make note these pedals do not have a battery compartment. I bought a reverb pedal the sales rep didn't have an adapter for it he didn't know it wasn't battery powered either. So when I finally get to use it after all the running and 4 days later I got right around $140 in it ..it was a hassle it really is an amazing sounding pedal I really love the sound ..I have adapters but none of them worked ..I was considering getting a few more.is all the series 3 pedals battery free ? You really really need to address this. Thanks for you time and a great pedal.
Most of the times pedals aren’t battery operated. Out of my admittedly small collection, only one takes a battery. Meanwhile, a pretty basic Boss style power adapter fits it perfectly well.
Fuzz face style pedals should go first typically. They can react poorly to a buffered signal. That said, I run my Big Muff in the middle of my chain and it sounds great.
Almost anything can do a fast Leslie because it's going by too fast to hear the intricacies, almost no choruses can do a slow Leslie. Flangers seem to generally do better but this isn't bad. But as a chorus it's nice. Has a strange midrange thing like one of my faves, the DOD FX-60.
@ 1:10:30 - What is that pedal? It's white with light blue decal, 4 white knobs. Josh said that he loved it, but didn't say it's name. It's not a white Holy Grail ... is it???
It would require it not being true bypass, which can kind of affect the whole building chain if you are all into the 3pdt true bypass switching system (which many many brands use). You can also no longer state your "analog like delay is true bypass", which in marketing terms might have a negative impact
I bought a JHS 3 fuzz pedal and I am very disappointed in it. It just makes noise and crackles. Was supposed to be $99, I paid 145 euros and now I guess I have an expensive paperweight. I was a fan but now I'm thinking mayb it was just a money grab.
Josh I can’t believe you included the wiring diagrams in this stream. This is such a testament to your views on pedal history and design. I could build these but I am ordering them this weekend to support you and all your future content. Thanks again.
I love JHS, but I also aspire to build one or two of these. Haha
I just wanna say thanks to JHS and Sweetwater for this. This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen!
😉👍
I wonder if Sweetwater is going to offer a JHS 3 value pac. You know maybe 3 peddles a board and a power supply starter set?. Might be cool. Sweetwater is fast becoming my go to supply store.
(ask them. you may be pleasantly surprised)
Been wanting to swing a JHS pedal. Now I can 😊. Thank you Josh for being such an innovator and champion for the working people.
Better use of 90 minutes than the Vice Pres debate
Or any debate.
amen to that! I’d take 4 hours of guitar nerd talk over anything on any news channel.
We need more JHS vids like this the dialogue was amazing maybe about current pedals made and what inspired him to make it.
I know this isn't live at this point, but I still fell like I'm in the living room. Incredible jams
My cousin Charlie works their for Sweet Water, as well for the sales team. When he isn't available everyone who has helped me were amazing and friendly!!!
You guys sounded great today. I’m always impressed with the drum sounds you get - that’s hard! ☮️

Nice! Thanks for continuing to bring awesomeness into the world, JHS!
God!!! I love Josh’s playing a true master of melody and playing in the pocket.
My first JHS pedal was this 3-series Fuzz, I wanted to get the chorus too but it was sold out on SweetWater.

I bought the 3 Series Fuzz, and I can't wait to receive it! Same Transistor as the
Legends of Fuzz!!! Josh n JHS Rock! 🙂🤘Fuzzz
This was a super enjoyable JHS show. I might have to have a go at building one of the drive pedals, though I do want to pick up the Chorus when I can.
Great show, time well spent, thanks!
Josh IS The Pedal Profit!!!!! Love this guy so much.
Havin' a good time !! Thanks !!!
Brother I just bought the series 3 distortion and finally felt home.
As this moment, this video is a year and a half old, and I have gone back and watched it again each time I've thought about purchasing another 3 series pedal. I go back to this video every time I get a 3 series.I own the fuzz,Chorus, delay, screamer. Notaklon Jhs solo boost, emperor v2 unicorn v2
I got my Series 3 Chorus Pedal this week from Sweetwater. It is awesome! I wish JHS and the team great success with this line. Now to decide the next one to get.... Overdrive or Fuzz or..........
I adore my fuzz
That fuzz is on my list now...never too many fuzz pedals
10 hour stream of Josh, Nick, Adison, and crazy pedals... YES PLEASE!!! I'm sitting here, Guitar in hand, jamming along. :)
Jeez that same short tune for 10 minutes and counting...feels like I'm on hold with the IRS.
Fun fact they are changing their music next year..... so it’ll be new at least once 🤷🏻♂️
Awesome video, guys!
I like that the overdrive is based on an obscure hard to find foreign made od that isn't made and more but for the distortion it's pretty much a rat with a treble boost(or bass cut?) switch

You guys are awesome and feels like a great company to work for!!!! Nice sounding pedals, Impressive!!!!!
Man you guys are tight ...respect ...pedals rock too
The compressor jam at 50 mins sounds awesome!! Well done chaps! X
Live take over of Sweetwater! I'm still waiting on my JHS compression pedal. Every week I call, I'm told, another 2 weeks! Ugh!🙄
JOSH FELIZ AÑO! HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAVING THE THE JHS SHOW, HELPED THRU THIS YEAR!!
I know this is supposed to be about these badass pedals, but damn that bass tone!!!
Please do some bass demos and consider making bass specific pedals in this line!
So much fun. Thank you.
Saving up to buy all these pedals. I am really impressed.
Ive said this one hundred times by now but i built a Morning Glory V1-V2 a few weeks ago and ive been loving it. I wish I could build my own pedals. 😐
Love these, cant wait for more. I’d love a tape echo!
I am having a great time!
What is the best paint or markers to draw on these pedals? I want my daughter to draw a pic on my new JHS pedal!
Good question.
I like the Oil Paint Pens by Sharpie (Medium Tip)
That’s so cute!!
I tried the Fuzz, loved and imedeatly bought it, the day I got my money. I frogging love it
When Eddie died, I listened to the Zero Demos for the first time. That's my favorite VH now.
Josh is speaking the truth about Sweetwater. I straight up don’t buy anything related to music from anywhere else (unless Sweetwater doesn’t carry it. Although that generally means I shouldn’t buy it)
You guys are amazing.
A bit late in my question, haha!. Any chance there would be a stereo version of the Reverb and/or the Chorus to come out in the future? Or should I just buy two of each? ;)
the fuzzed tone reminds me of hound dog taylor's song "she's Gone. a fun hang out with details and historical factoids.
Slew rate limitors also found in modular systems
So josh build pedal for josh and josh bought it?
What's this inception???
😂
AH!!! I hoped you'd mention the third transistor in the Fuzz. Just what I'd hoped it was. I totally agree, my blue Dunlop Hendrix Fuzz needs more output.
COOOOOL but I had to boost the volume on this end almost 50% more to get, roughly, the usual level in my headphones.
Is that David Arquette on bass?
We need a Series 3 Flanger.
7:54 Josh says, “The real origin of JHS 3 Overdrive is HAO Rumble O.D.S.” (note that it’s not HAO Rumble MOD)
The compressor is awesome!
Second pedal I ever had was a Dyna Comp. Hated it. Had the Keeley - hated it. Done with compressors.
I’ve gotten into music producing, and there are so many other kinds of compressors that do completely different things, and different sounds. Unless you use a fair bit of distortion (which creates its own compression), there’s probably a compression out there for you.
Okay... because they're all the same color, with small, neat type font. If you had more than one, I couldn't tell them apart on the board.
Most of the times pedals aren’t battery operated. Out of my admittedly small collection, only one takes a battery. Meanwhile, a pretty basic Boss style power adapter fits it perfectly well.
It's got that velcro rippiness I love and for 99 bucks I have to own one
This is great!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Should fuzz typically go first? I’ve always used it in the same spot I’d typically use a distortion pedal.
Fuzz face style pedals should go first typically. They can react poorly to a buffered signal. That said, I run my Big Muff in the middle of my chain and it sounds great.
this apply for oldschool type of fuzzes like fuzzfaze, tonebender and so on. There are ways around it.
Love the pink sweater!
Iv got a helmet. a hammer.
Bricks.
A cement mixer. cement.
Bricks.
Josh?! . . . Bubbe?! . . . I’m your builder.
cool compression jam.😁😁
Oh lawd! These tasty jams!!
Josh is gonna take over the world! Narf!
At least he'll try to! (like he does every night)
I saw your fuzz face mod video. Interesting but not my bag - not into the sputter thing. Does this bias knob go up past stock?
I enjoy the music actually 😊👍🏻
How about a tour of your pedal collection as a series of episodes.....any idea how many you have ? I thought I had a problem :) Great New Pedal Line !
19:00 Anyway, here's Wonderwall.
You say "come back to me"...but I say Stillwater - Fever dog (if you have seen the movie called Almost Famous)😃😃🤘🤘🤘
Also, I am so disappointed that I didn’t know y’all are from KC sooner because I went to KU
1:15:35 did you get up and dance around to this one?
These JHS pedals are brought to you by a grant from the Dharma Initiative.
an EQ 3 series with the toggle for high boost or low boost
Almost anything can do a fast Leslie because it's going by too fast to hear the intricacies, almost no choruses can do a slow Leslie. Flangers seem to generally do better but this isn't bad. But as a chorus it's nice. Has a strange midrange thing like one of my faves, the DOD FX-60.
It was Sonic Spookhouse, damnit!
I like the tootsie rolls. I'm a choco-holic.
I like the bit o honeys
Pinky and the brain! Sick!
I think we know what we're doing tonight! (The same thing we do every night.)
I could so see a pedal named the Slewy Sloth Pedal or the Slew Sloth Pedal.
Colton is my guy over there
50:30 ......... MORE COWBELL !
Do you think he brought up the delay Easter egg because there is an Easter egg?
@jhs Josh, could a Big Muff/Muffuletta be modded to include the bias control from the 3 series, to give the muff fans some sputter, as well?
Not Char--ring x road. Cha-ring. But you knew that, had to, seeing as that’s where Denmark Street is.
Will there be a straight up octave pedal?
The third knob.
But are they better than the Morning Glory?
@ 1:10:30 - What is that pedal? It's white with light blue decal, 4 white knobs.
Josh said that he loved it, but didn't say it's name.
It's not a white Holy Grail ... is it???
It looks like a Dispatch Master by Earthquaker
Dispatch Master by Earthquaker Devices
He said delay reverb
Man, I only got $100 in my pocket...
Guess I'm gonna have to sell that strat I never play.
Why is a trails switch on a delay such a hard thing to find?????
It would require it not being true bypass, which can kind of affect the whole building chain if you are all into the 3pdt true bypass switching system (which many many brands use). You can also no longer state your "analog like delay is true bypass", which in marketing terms might have a negative impact
Fireballs and Bit O Honey...
👍🔴🐝
Thanks for explaining the body control on the overdrive legends 🤙🙂☀️
Everyone prod Josh about his thoughts on woodcutters
I bought a JHS 3 fuzz pedal and I am very disappointed in it. It just makes noise and crackles. Was supposed to be $99, I paid 145 euros and now I guess I have an expensive paperweight. I was a fan but now I'm thinking mayb it was just a money grab.
The pedal he’s just made cost more than my guitar and my amp!
we need colors!
