  • This is part two of my Laksa Product review. In the first episode, I tested 3 different laksa paste. In this video, I will be testing two laksa products from Prima Taste. The ramen one and the instant paste. The instructions were a bit confusing, but overall I like this product and will buy it again. To check out my original laksa video check out the following link.

I don't think you're supposed to cook the noodles separately. It's written in the instructions that you're supposed to put the dry noodles into the soup to cook for 7 minutes.
I know you do that for other ramen because they impart certain undesirable elements into their broths, like the taste of rancid oil or noodle starch which may interfere with lighter broths.
This particular product though, from personal experience, actually tastes BETTER when you cook the noodles in the soup. The soup actually gets creamier.
    It was designed that way.
Boiling and draining the noodles separately gives you a thinner and less rich broth.
Give the actual instructions a try, I'm sure you'll like it better.

Ok thanks for the additional info. I will try putting the noodles in directly.

Laksa is different, it is designed to be thicker and creamier. I agree.

You want the noodles to absorb the flavor of the broth while they’re cooking. Don’t be the same if you cook them separately.

also the one with the box has actually 3 packets while the first one only has 2 (the laksa paste and the premix powder)
the boxed one is more expensive since it has 3 packets (premix powder, laksa paste, sambal paste)

I can get the first Laksa pack here in the UK; I usually add fish balls, fish cake, prawns, tofu puffs and a little extra noodles of a different type :)

No matter how many different kinds of instant laksa we buy...it never tastes as good as mom's cooking haha! These looks decent though! 8/10 is great for something that came out of a packet hehe. You're looking fab btw!

    DO NOT BUY
We have been buying these noodles for a while.
Our latest packet of four were absolute rubbish.
We bough them from Burwood Highway Asian Grocery, Burwood East VIC.
The price is up the quality really bad, like dish water.
    Are these new owners?
Are they really made in Singapore?
    Waste of money.
    Refund please.
