New to the channel? I do Let's Play videos -- these are like walkthrough guides of gameplay with continuous English commentary trying to explain my decisions and what strategy I use. If you're looking for hacks or cheats, you're in the wrong place!
Thanks for showing this, bought it right away and it's a great digital version of the real game!
Pretty funny that you have Einstein as a leader but only Swordsmen as your military! ;)
Sid meyer as leader, lol
A full quick play through. Just right for a bit of binge watching. Thanks Quill
A good overview, though I would have loved if you had looked at all the leaders that appeared in the top row. Clearly they each do some fun game rules bending stuff, and it would have been fun to have a look at them.
Gratz on your victory! Board Game Trivia: there is actually a Civilization board game, published in the US by Avalon Hill 10 years before Sid Meier's Civilization [ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization_(1980_board_game) ]. It plays very differently from Sid Meier's Civilization; Sid's game was originally inspired by Risk, SimCity, and Railroad Tycoon, with the influence of the Civilization board game (and the name) coming in during the iterative development process.
Yes I played a lot of that Civilization Board game as a kid with my family. I play Sid Meier's Civilization , but as mentioned although there is a connection the play styles are completely different (I never played the first Sid Meier's Civilization. but I pretty sure it isn't much like the board game either). This game on the other hand looks kind of similar in more ways although there is little to no connection.
Sid Meier was a card! I wanted to see what he does😐
He's arguably the most powerful leader in the game (if used properly).
Michael Harris He reduces the science output of your labs by one, but makes them produce an extra culture point for each of their levels.
Aww quill, play some more of this game please!
Mads Mikkelsen is Napoleon 24:26
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought he was the leader of France.
Do any other game of this game
Why hasn't anyone mentioned that there actually is a "Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game" published in 2010?
That, plus a new version has been announced. Check out "Sid Meier's Civilization: A New Dawn". Looks like it will have hexagonal tiles, like recent civ pc games, and the art seems borrowed from civ6, which is somewhat divisive but that's a debate for another day
I'd love to watch you play medium/hard! Can't get the game myself.

One quibble, This is NOITHING like the Civilization board game. Not saying it is bad, but the Civ board game predated the PC games by a fair bit.
The man who made Through the Ages, Vlaada Chvatil, was not trying to accomplish anything other than to make the best civilization-themed board game he could devise. The original version of Through the Ages board game came out in 2006. Revised version came out a couple of years ago, and the app came out a couple of months ago. I don't really understand who you have a "quibble" with. As a board gamer who adores Through the Ages, I am thrilled to be able to play it quick and dirty on my tablet!
