Great analysis at this time of no play - thanks. A good point of interest @7:00 is his straight black cannon to the pink. This is almost an auto shot, a dead straight black screwed with no side and accurately hit into centre of pocket will almost always hit the pink on its spot !!!
Enjoyed this commentary style of this video. Steve always has a clear way of explaining things, and it's even better with Ronnie playing. Just slightly disappointed Ronnie didn't wrap it up with a century.
Yeah its because he always plays the right shots no matter the scoreline or situation. This is basically learnt very early on in a players career. A lot of players back away from what they know is the right shot when they get to the business end of a match or well behind... hendry played much the same way
Excellent video Steve and great idea of taking and analyzing an O’Sullivan break. There is no snooker fan out there that hasn’t tried at least ones to learn from O’Sullivan’s way of play and the way you explained and having the cue ball on the screen makes us understand his game better. Thank u sir and I’m sure lots of people like the video. Maybe one day take one of his maximums and break it down for us would be great. He doesn’t run out of position much but in the maximums trying to stay on the black sometimes he plays recovery shots forcing angles and stuff. Your knowledge would be much appreciated explaining those shots. Thanks again for all your videos and keep them coming
Super Steve really learn so much from this . Amazing how quick Ronnie's brain works it is like driving a car for him does not have to look at the pedals and changes gear by instinct so natural and beautiful. Keep safe.
I subscribed to a swim coaching channel too and the instructor/owner has taken to analysing swimming techniques of actors in films to keep his channel going for this week. This has been hard for us all. Coming back, I see that side is very rarely used. A bit of a consolation for amateurs like me.
Fascinating commentary made even more interesting with your inclusion of where Ronnie is hitting the white. Wishing you, your business and family the best!
Thank you for this voice over sort of commentary and coaching. It was actually quite helpful. It helps better understand and improve shot selection and break strategy. Much Thanks.
Steve love it - Can you make an analysis of cue actions, especially Steve Davis vs Ronnie and how the styles have evolved over the past 30-50 years, particularly with todays thinner cloths, faster beds (heaters etc), more reactive balls (bearing in mind Super Crytalite balls is the same compound just a different moulding process to the modern balls) - and how they have impacted cue actions ????
Thanks Steve, this the best video, I have seen, because i always wanted to no which part of the white ball they hit so they can set for next shot, fantastic be safe, and give us more video like this.
Hi Steve. If possible, could you do a small video just on cue delivery, I am having big trouble with any sort of backspin, other shots are OK, the biggest problem is jumping over object ball, I am just wondering if when I deliver the cue I somehow change the angle of the cue, is there a way to practise away from the table.
@@nepiris Thanks nepiris, I'm afraid I have lost confidence in the shot and will look for other ways to play the shot, no problem with potting or any other types of shot, just this one
@@swftezza What is usually the case is that folk use their normal bridge then aim down to hit the bottom of the cue ball, subconsciously they do not strike the bottom of the cue ball as they are afraid of either jumping the ball or tearing the cloth, so they actually, without realising it, hit around the centre, not the bottom, with no follow through at all . The cure is to lower your bridge when attempting screw, then you can follow through in a straight line with no fear. The follow through is essential in achieving the screw back, you could hit as low as possible but if you don't follow through, the cue ball will most likely stop dead, not come back.
Thanks Steve- an excellent topic in these unusual times! Very inspirational, it’s what we need😊. Do I recall you played in this event? Wishing you well.
About that black with top left side. In all tutorials say do it with stun to go for red. But all time i see ronnie play top left side. And this black normaly is hard to pot and if we take it with side its become so harder.
Great video Steve. Well done. Would love to see more of these positional play ones. Fascinating to understand shot selection and what they are thinking. You are looking good these days too. Lost some weight, I think. Not that you were big, but you look thinner 😀
@@BartonSnooker I'm guessing that's his stomping ground for practise? Surprised the place wasn't a stand still with him in the room.. I'd be in complete awe

Thanks to you and Ronnie both Steve. I`ve often wondered about Ronnies cue action aiming. Thank you. Cheers🍺
Definitely do more of these. Particularly on Ronnie, I found it very helpful.

Good Vid Steve, I like the break down of Ronnie shot selection, for me it really shows the difference in how a pro picks their shots to a club player

I'm guessing that you are using your normal bridge, try lowering your bridge hand so as to enable you to play fully through the shot.

I certainly did! I won 3 matches and then played Jack Lisowski. I lost that one 4-2. But good time 😀

Btw when will Snookerq come out? I really want to try it
It should be later this year now. The game is coming along really well. Certain elements are being finalised and worked on ready for realise.

I'll be able to play the game then, along with Snooker 19! 😁

Very nice analysis, He's quite a player isn't he.
Counting down the minutes...should be a good one this!! :)

Nice break, but good channel
Yeah it will be fine soon enough
The video looks a bit old but anyways a very good tutorial on break building.
Decent player, this Ronnie lad.
You know, this Ronnie character looks like he could get places with this. I mean, with a bit of practice, surely he could be a contender!
I think so too!
Is Ronnie gonna be in this??
Unfortunately not. Well he's the one making the break. I talk about shot selection, where he's striking the cue-ball etc.
He might be good but he’s never beaten me
You going to be talking to Ronnie?
Unfortunately not!
BartonSnooker May have already seen the video, I recognise the background. I’ve set a reminder anyway I’ll give it a watch 👍🏼
@@lewis8476 you won't have seen this. I talk through the break, show where he's hitting on the cue-ball. Explain why he's playing certain shots etc.
