Steve is the real deal. I had a 2 hour coaching session back in October. Before oct I had 1 century break practicing by myself with colors on spots and reds spread. Since oct I have had 9 centuries. Since I have been fanatical about snooker for 40 years I can’t believe how 2 hours coaching with steve helped me immensely. I have a table at home in Chicago which I have only had for less than 2 years. Couple of my mates can’t believe the improvement in my game. Planning to enter the Senior championship in Canada March . Cheers Steve!
Thanks very much Simon!
Cant understand why people thumb down this, the way you provide information makes it much less comlicated i wish had this knowledge 10 years ago. Thanks Steve keep it up 👍
147 completed tonight over the moon!!!
Also made my first ton (102) in a practice frame.
Great nights work.
That is awesome.
@@vxrdrummer thanks Ben
Steve u are awsome dont stop. I would like to see you play a few frames against a player to see ypu in action
I second this!
@@ShaahinShabbak interesting to watch all the things he teaches and uses them in frames
Hi there! It's something I'd like to do, although most people don't like being on video, so it's tricky to get people to play against. I do have video from a couple of years ago where I make a century against a practice partner, so I could upload that if it's something people are interested in.
@@BartonSnookerHello Steve, yes, please do upload that video. What I'd really be interested in is a proper snooker game where the rules are extended with this item: The player on MUST speak out loudly whatever is in his or her mind.
Such a game between two pro players would be fascinating but you could go ahead and demonstrate it with an opponent who is willing to cooperate.
@@BartonSnooker why dont you ask someone from the Facebook group I'm shore they would be more than happy
Tried this routine yesterday Steve. and I love it. Managed to get 5 or 6 reds in a row. gonna keep a record. Thanks again mate
Incredibly useful routine that really does what the title says it should. What the title does not say is that it also helps in focus&concentration as well as, incredibly enough, angle recognition (simply because you aim at same-ish angles over and over so you know where *not* to hit the cue ball when you “lose” the position).
Been doing this routine regularly the entire practice session for two months, no other; started off with 16 breaks, only to count 7 or 8 blacks couple of weeks after.
For a beginner, there’s no better way to start to build confidence. Off to next routine, hopefully Steve will show us some in coming months.
Just tried this tonight and got 73. Never scored so high before, 1 black i potted i had the white higher than the pink as i ran out of position. Awesome video and help thanks alot, this was alot harder than u made it look i had to come of side and top cushions multiple times.
Thanks Mark. Sounds like you did really well with the routine. Set your target for the century next 😎
Simple yet effective, I feel my game has improved after a week of doing this, thanks, fyi I find it especially helpful to watch your positional play where you also show the graphic of exactly where you hit the cue ball on each shot, again especially around the black where we all get those same shots regularly and I struggle with some angles to get the white where I want it which has also improved and become a lesser issue after practising this routine, cheers.
FANTASTIC control.
Best snooker tuition on the net.
hi steve just to let you no after about an hour of doing your practice routine i managed to pot fifteen reds and fifteen blacks but missed the yellow. great exercise thank you cant wait for the next one. ALEX.
Man these are great inputs. I’d have seen may be 3-4 as of now. I’ve found them all very informative. Can’t wait to try some out.
This is a great drill! It’s fun to play, and it is improving my game! Thank you.
Im currently playing my friend first to 100 frames..mentioned i was watching an on line video tutorial..as did he..turns it its steves videos weve both been watching without the other knowing..my highest break is in the 60s but in adapting to these structures and making more consistent smaller breaks..improving all the time thanks to your amazing videos steve.
Great video. I just recently started playing and was looking for some instructional videos on UA-cam, and I found your channel to be excellent! This video with the graphics on where you hit the cue ball with the tip of the cue is really helpful to understand how to control the ball. Brilliant stuff, keep them coming!
Yet again another absolutely brilliant video with clear and straight forward instruction.
Steve you truly are amazing.
Thank you so much.
And looking forward to some coaching
Have been doing this practice routine for a while now and have added a red also under pink (like 10 cm). Its very usefull for your game. It hit 80-ish here the other day. I dont put the reds back on the table until They all 3 are potted. Makes it harder due to position. Thanks for sharing this video 🥰👍🔴⚫️🔴⚫️
It's very helpfull for break building....
Excellent video Steve- making it look easy is what the ‘greats’ do!!
Top video this! Will be trying this next time. Your videos have really helped me to understand the angles, something I really struggle with so thanks for the help. Keep up the good work. Look forward to your next video. 👍
Excellent. It would be good to do the same thing but alternate the positions of the reds so they are between the pink and blue to practice around the middle bags. Very adaptable exercise.👍🏻
Very knowledgeable coach. I find myself watching a lot of these videos even though I'm well past playing.
Thank you 👍🙂
Hey Steve, keep up the videos they are immensely helpful! Any chance you could do a video explaining where the cue ball will end up? Finding it hard to leave it where I want it to go.
Nice video!! I think this is gonna be very useful!! Please, more routines for increase the breaks! Many thanks
Brilliant video. Really helpful. Thank you for putting it together. Brilliant! 👍
Hi steve great quality video as always. use a similar routine like this all the time but at the other end of the table with the baulk colours, really brings on your cue ball control, keep up the great work
Excellent demonstration , very useful as always , thank you Steve , U R the best !
Wonderful and thank you so much sir for the tips
Great routine for me to practice tomorrow - thank you Steve 👍👍
1st half century with this routine, I've done it on a 3/4 table so I'm not sure whether that's good but I've enjoyed it just the same. Thanks😊
Amazing. Well done 👍👍
Great stuff Steve. I'll be giving this a go tomorrow. Just having another practice routine is really good to keep up the enthusiasm!
Superb video. Cant wait to the routine a blast.
Thank you for all of your videos.
Hi Steve I will certainly give this a go. I have been trying with two reads between black and pink. Not doing very well though.
Great idea for a routine...This will help.Thanks.👌
A great practice routine. Will be giving it a go. How many 147,s have you made now? Lol. , You make it look so simple. Thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to make these video's they are great. I'm still shit but slowly improving.
Good practice. I will tried it.
Thanks.
When potting where should we lay our sights, to the cue ball or to the object balls?thank you sir for those informative and helpful videos
Hi Steve - what kind of pencil should I use so I can spot the reds in the same spot each time? Worried about damaging the cloth if I use the wrong thing...
No side except that one from the black to the yellow. Okay I’d go practice this.
Fantastic control
It is amazing of how much cue control most snooker players have. I have never played snooker but it does look challenging. Good drill. I do notice that the tip on your cue is much smaller then what i shoot with, would I have a difficult time trying to play snooker with my Cynergy 15K?
Thanks Steve, this video has been extremely helpful to me.
Nice routine👌
wanted to know if the Reds are in line with the black..can't tell from the camera angle
Yes they are 👍
Thank you for these videos
I can pot a ball almost half decently now, but I CAN NOT POT during any drill that involves positional play I.e line up
I am starting to lose hope about how to improve both potting and position. Do you have any tips for a newbie who's been playing for about a year and a quarter now?
Great practice routine 👍
How to marks a table? With chalk?
great tutorial Steve ,put over brilliantly mate
Hey Steve. Good drill this. Will try this and aim for the maxi when I'm next down the club. I can see an improvement in my game since coming to see you in November 👍keep in touch
That's great to hear. Yeah, I definitely think you can do the maxi in this. The easier you make this routine look, the better your control must be. If you can keep on just potting the reds and stunning up the centre of the table, that's perfect control. Let me know how you do!
@@BartonSnooker I've nearly done the maxi in the T excersize. 15 red blacks, missed yellow 🙄 I've cleared table with the 6 reds and 10 reds exercises you gave me in the report (videos on my channel) I think my cueball control is good enough to get the maxi in this excersize. I'll let you know! Keep the videos coming. How often would you advise coming to see you at my standard.?
@@CueBald I think at your standard it's keeping on top of technique. So really making sure that everything is very disciplined and consistent on each shot.
Then aside from that, it's having detailed discussions about shot selection and break-building. This is such a massively important skill that can be underestimated.
The sessions are totally up to you though. If you feel like you're not improving as you would like and want some more things to think about, then come again. It's all down to the individual in my opinion.
@@BartonSnooker Great. I'll give it some thought, keep practicing and be in touch 👍
Absolutely Marvelous Steve. Thank you so much!
owesome exercise..thanks steve...
Tq from Malaysia
3:00 he should have pot the red ball on the right corner pocket first instead of the left 😅
Was literally just doing this up in the club an hour ago and managed to get up to 56. Great little routine for soft stun and screw shots.
Awesome. Well done Jodie!
@@BartonSnooker I must figure out how to change the name, Jodie is my Mrs and her old phone I’m using still logs in as her!!!!! 🤣
@@jodietarpey9247 haha! Sorry Jodie 😂

Awesome routine ladd ,nice 147 first time seen ,that way ,verynice ,unique..😎
very good and interesting all the positions on the white
Hey Steve and his viewers, I’ve been playing snooker fairly regularly for the past 6 months and I’m looking to really improve my game. I’ve currently been working on screwing the cue ball back but when doing so the cue ball always move a little to the right. Can anyone help me as to why this is happening and how to stop this? Also great video as usual Steve! 👍🏻
Huncho you must be putting some side on it without knowing. Possible you are hitting across the ball
simon poole appreciated 👍🏻
@@dannynorris6913 Practice straight cueing! A good way to do this is by getting a empty 1 litre bottle and cueing into the hole of the bottle!
Another great video Steve, these are really useful, little bits of gold dust
Hi Steve. Are you allowed to take other colours during the break building, or is it restricted to the black only?
Hi Hugh,
You can take other colours if you like. The point of the exercise is to get used to controlling the Cue-Ball. If that means sometimes you need to take a blue or pink, that's fine 🙂
Thank you so much
Amazing stuff my man, most impressive!
very useful and very good
It was great, thank you
What a lesson sir...made 147 in sight...just so impressive
Hi Steve .after spending some time with you I can regularly get 40 break using this method in practice but I'm still struggling in a match to get more than a 20+ breaks . Any advice?
