RIP to one of the coolest metal musicians ive ever met. One of my greatest memories is Trevor coming out to the bar after a show at Tremont in cut-off jogging pants and flipflops. Asked him if he wanted a drink and he chose tall boy PBR in a can. Talked for a bit and was the most down to earth guy you would ever meet. He looks at me kinda wild eyed and says "hey man wanna start a circle pit at the bar?" So with Slayer Ghost of War blasting over the bar speakers we started a mosh pit right there at the bar lol... one of the coolest moments ive had and i was star struck.
Hey Lee! Ah thanks so much for sharing that memory. In truth I've been grieving hard since I got the news. I actually broke down and cried when I heard. I had known Trevor for 10 years or so when we first met in London and became friends throughout the years. I'm truly heartbroken but hearing your story sounds just like Trevor man. There will never be anyone like him but that just means that we get to cherish his spirit forever. Sending love, light and positivity to you my friend x
I work with this dude's aunt, and have a sticker on my bike with a picture of hi that says "Never forget". His contributions to metal, the Michigan metal "scene", and my personal obsession with all things metal are unparalleled. I stood outside a venue when I was 14 listening to them play. So surreal that he is gone.
thats so awesome! I miss Trevor alot, and it still hurts he is gone. Please be sure to tell his Aunt he has touched soooooo many people in the industry and we wont ever forget him! LEGEND
I’ve seen so many videos where metal band dudes would tear an interviewer to shreds for asking these types of questions yet Trevor is genuine and kind sad to hear of his passing may he RIP
I can't tell you how heartbroken I am. I've spent the last week grieving on and off. We knew each other for 10 years or so and we might not have been able to hang out all of the time due to the obvious reasons of touring but whenever they came to the UK we would ALWAYS see each other. I'm going to miss him so much man. Sending love to you and your friends and family, we've got to look out for each other x
Thanks dude! It means so much that everyone has been so supportive throughout this whole thing, really does! I'm glad you liked the interview man, have you seen BDM many times before? Cannibal Corpse I have to say though gave them a serious run for their money at the show but you know, its Cannibal Corpse hahaha
TheMetalTris Of course, dude. You do a great job and deserve recognition. Yeah, I've seen BDM 5 times and they brought it each time. I'll be seeing them for a 6th time this July with fleshgod apocalypse and whitechapel. I've never CC, but really hope to soon.
Hey Winston! Its been a while! Thanks for the kind words bro, he is the absolute sweetest guy in the world honestly and not to mention absolutely bloody hilarious too haha! I'm glad that you liked the video, I thought the fact I fucked up his name was hilarious hahaha! Hope all is well with you dude? :)
Haha yeah I remember watching the DVD's they released a few years ago and Trevor always cracked me up in them, proper funny guy! It's funny you fucked up his first name because it's always his second name that I have trouble saying hahah! Yeah I'm good thanks, how's it going with you?
I’ll miss him every day man, what a fucking guy. Still not processed this news fully, we’ll never have that beer that we talked about all throughout the pandemic. Truly heartbroken.
Wow. That's probably one of the nicest comments I think I've ever gotten on here! It certainly beats being called a faggot for having a UK accent and wearing a jumper hahahah! That's seriously so nice man, I'm just glad that you enjoyed the interview! I try not to take things too seriously and I think Metal especially people can get bogged down with a lot of stuff. Plus Trevor is a hilarious dude haha! I'm honestly so grateful that you've said that man :). Just out of curiosity what is it that you like so much? I hope that I can translate all my goofiness to all of you guys around the world! Thats one of the things that I love about doing this, we're all together in a sick community helping everyone out. Thank you so much man, thats made my day :)
Haha didn't thought about being noticed by you at all honestly, it's a really nice surprise and it makes me a bit excited. Well, since I discovered this channel I have literally watched almost (I think all of them but I'm trying not to be weird so okay haha) your interviews and I really like the way how every musician act so honest, 'human' or more closer to their audience and the way how they express their thoughts with your questions makes it really clear for everyone and that's it something I really love about it. Don't pay attention to the criticism or any shit like that, personally I like UK accent and I use jumpers almost daily so I guess I'm fine with it hahaha, love your work and hope you keep doing what you like! Cheers.
Hey man! Wow that seriously means a lot to me dude :) I think that people in Metal especially take themselves way too seriously sometimes. Its good to just make fun of yourself at the same time you know? I'm glad that you enjoyed the video though man! Its just me doing this channel so when I hear something like that it makes it all worth it, plus I love bringing all sorts of cool content to all you awesome subscribers. Honestly its such a joy to do this and I know that I am a very lucky dude, if I can share any of that joy with all of you guys, then I certainly will! Thanks again bro :) means the world!
I really admire your way with people, I recently interviewed Trevor as well (not in person tho) and you just vibe so good with all your interview partners...
Another killer interview dude, I alway loved BDM, having read of the Trevor's columns it is very clear the man knows his shit! His vocals always send chills down my spin a BDM songs comes on haha
Hey Nick, or should I say 'Kempster' ;). Thanks so much for the kind words dude, I always appreciate all of the feedback all of you give back man! I know exactly what you mean in terms of vocals though dude, honestly, the intro to Widowmaker is absolutely killer haha! Whats a personal favourite of yours from BDM man? Thanks again man :)
TheMetalTris for a brief moment I forget what my name is on UA-cam haha, a pleasure good sir, Moonlight Equilibrium or What a Terrible night for a curse are my jams! Yours?
Nicholas James Kempster Johnson Hahaha ah man! I’m more saying it because of your new blog! I think that’s fucking awesome for sure. In terms of Black Dahlia Murder tunes, those are some good shouts! For me... I always lose my shit whenever I hear anything from Nocturnal to be fair but “I Will Return” at the end of the set is always special for me. Though I love that intro run of “Blood Mine” on guitar and “The Window” is definitely a favorite for sure. Another absolute favourite though has to be “Blood In The Ink”. I could go on for years mate hahaha
TheMetalTris thanks man hoping by sunday or monday I have a post which I am looking forward to 😁 After watching this vid I ended up watch as many BDM videos a possible before lunch was over lol
man I hate how every interview i see from the past now makes me ask all kinds of questions. Hope you're jamming with Petrov, Dimebag, Burton and everyone else now. RIP
Hey man, I'm pretty sure that they were a Nightbringers preorder piece but I would say try IndieMerch / Emp / Nightshift maybe, though I will say this that the interview is pretty old so it might be tricky to get yourself a pair but still, if I come across any I'll make sure to come back to this comment. Thank you for checking the video out all the same and hope that you're keeping well and we'll all remember Trevor in the best way possible
They might not be exactly the same but these are pretty close... Hope that might help? www.impericon.com/uk/the-black-dahlia-murder-detroit-death-metal-sweat-pants.html
Wow dude this is awesome... He's so cool. Great interview too. \m/ Audio is perfect as well! Gig was perfection too... BTW lost my shit when he said poop porn hahahaha
Hey Rhys! Thanks dude, I'm glad you liked the kind of stuff that I put together mate, I thought it was hilarious that I totally fucked up his name as well, those intro things are always so awkward hahaha! Thanks for the feedback about the audio man! I think since getting my little microphone for interviews and properly stepping up my game somewhat when I'm out and about its really helped. I think pretty much everyone did haha I certainly did! You should check out that band Homewrecker that they are taking out on tour with them in America, their new single was dropped yesterday. Interesting take on Death Metal, hope you're good my man!
TheMetalTris Well yeah hahaha the intros can always be awkward but at least you fuckin up the name made for a good intro for the vid!! It was meant to be! And yeah no probs dude, I shall check Homewrecker🤘😑🤘
Hey Hector! Thanks man! I'm glad that you enjoyed it, even with me totally fucking up his name at the beginning of it hahaha, he really is the most down to earth and easy guy to talk Death Metal with for sure. Not to mention his sheer knowledge is absolutely incredible in the genre, I wish I knew even half of the amount of bands that he does hahah, thanks for checking it out as always man :)
SAD DUDE IM 10 MONTHS SOBER & GOT CLEAN DURING THE PANDEMIC & CRAWLED OUT OF A DEEP DARK DEPRESSION I HAD TO STOP LISYENONG TO AND WATCHING HARDCORE 💩 & IM MOVING TO THE DESERT 2 EXCAPE MICHIGANS BRUTAL WINTER I WISH ALL YALL FIND YALLS WAY🙏☮❤✝️
Hahaha yes! That would have been killer man, I would love to find out where all of this talent has come from. Not to mention that I think Ellis wrote three songs on the new record which is a pretty big chunk of it! A very worthy successor to Knight for sure haha! Thanks for watching the interview, I hope you enjoyed some of the questions I had put together, apologies for the late reply to your comment dude, been super busy recently but I like to try and reply to everyone who comments on my videos :) Thanks again for the kind words dude!
Really love BDM, Trevor and Brian looks like really really cool dudes, hope to see them this summer in Italy. Nice interview sir, you got a new subscriber! What was the name of the "fanclub" thing you mentioned in the beginning? Couldn't catch it.
Hey dude! Thanks so much for watching the video and I'm glad that you liked it man! I'm sure that you will be able to see them this summer in Italy, their performance that they put on for the Cannibal Dahlia show was absolutely superb, they never disappoint live to be fair though. Thanks so much for subscribing man! I've got all sorts of other good interviews there already and coming up soon, I'm just currently going crazy with my university deadlines but I've had a chat with Cannabis Corpse which will be going up soon :). The fan club is a called The Blast Fiends, you can find them on Facebook, check them out! Honestly the craziest fans I have ever seen dude. Thanks again for watching and I'm glad that you liked the video man :)
TheMetalTris I've seen some of your reviews as well and I liked that kind of video too, your take is fresh and passionate, so I'll keep watching for sure! Asked about the fc name since for an year or so I've gone full hermit style (a parrot on each shoulder, as the death metal Iceland queen Bjork would say :P) and I've deleted my fb account... But I'll check them out if/when I'll be back. Good luck with your uni stuff, and have a blast!

Stop asking about violence in death metal, it’s so annoying
Papa Billydeth Hey dude! First off thanks for watching the video man, I was just wondering why do you find it annoying man? Especially as a huge death metal fan myself why we all buy into this culture of violence and it’s just ok you? I love Death Metal but I just thought that it would be interesting to speak to the ol Papa Trev about it :) either way man I hope you liked the video despite that!
What a positive response, kudos
TheMetalTris in regards to death metal, interviewers always ask about the gore and violence and the artists get tired of responding to it
Hey dude, fair enough! I can imagine that people get very bored of the same questions for sure. The main reason that I thought it would be interesting is predominantly because of Trevor's kind of status in the Death Metal world you know? I think that a lot of fans of Death Metal look up to the guy and I wanted to see what his take on it was, though its like he said, its kind of part of the package! I love Death Metal through and through but just thought from an outsider perspective it might be pretty weird, anyway though bro, thanks for the constructive criticism and again cheers for watching the vid! :)
Hey man! Thanks haha, I try not to get too bogged down with any sort of negativity and always think that there is a way to turn it into something positive. For example the guy i've just been commenting with, he's got an opinion and so do I and thats cool! Its even cooler though if we have a conversation about it and discuss exactly what it is you know? Anyway man, thanks for the kudos haha! I hope you liked the video too?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The main reason why Indonesian metal is so damn raw is that the Indonesian Gov is composed entirely of perma-child shitheads. The more you know...
The worse the living conditions are, the better the metal that is borne out of that frustration becomes. Suffering produces some of the best art, sadly enough. Just look at some of the absolutely brutal bands that have come out of Iraq in the last decade. Those guys are just unfuckwithable.
Well... You could fuck with them, but I wouldn't recommend it lol, especially considering that they pretty much wiped the floor with the entire brunt of the American military. How quickly we forget why America pulled out of Iraq in the first place; They were losing, and they were losing *badly.* The men and women who served in the US military were completely demoralized during that period of time. There's a reason why America hasn't won a war in 50 years, y'know.
😂😂 they were Emo, not death metal at all
Death Metal is not going anywhere? Just listen to Archspire, Profanity, Defeated Sanity...Real artistic and creative bands not like this "band" for posers...🖓🖓
Lmao shut yo bitch ass up. Those bands have it easy, who put in the work to push death metal from the beginning to where it is now? Definitely not any of the bands you listed. 😂
Israel Gascon band for posers? Shut the fuck up pleb.
Chicky Nuggies You know shit about music you fucking poser...😁
Chris Crowe Fuck off poser🖕🖕
Chicky Nuggies Profanity has been in the scene since the 90s and just last year they put an excellent album...Do your homework before you talk idiot.
