Agreed. My husband came home one day drooling about a classic muscle car he'd seen. One he'd always wanted. We are in a good place. No debts. kids on their own so I encouraged him to go for it. It's fun to see him enjoy it.
That sail boat took my breath away, shes beautiful! As a 30 year boat owner I can tell you that taking a sunrise swim around the boat then wrapping up in a towel while sipping a hot coffee is beyond the description of the word glorious. Don't let rainy days stop you either! Read magazines , eat and nap in the cabin it's wonderful . Go get her! ⛵️
Yes, you will be just as happy the day you sell the boat (speaking from experience). Buy the boat anyway! Life is short and you should experience everything. ⛵️ ❤
We all know Phillip will buy his dream boat. He wouldn't travel all that way for nothing. I say go for it. You only live once. It will create many happy family memories. ❤
Doing some catching up as was away in The Aveyron region of France and then a quick trip to Spain followed. You always make me smile and quite often laugh out loud….thank you for sharing. God bless you all xx
We didn't have boats....just diary cows. Milk, cream, cheese and ice cream. They can't take you away, but they are delicious. Ziggy is so adorable. Love elder flowers.
Adore your vedios! And I say Philip you go get your boat you deserve it! And I remember last year or the year before when you took the family out on a boat for vacation.. It made for exodinary vedio; the cinematography was stunning. All for it ; on your side Philip! Love you guy's! ❤
Dear Philip and Anna, we have a 40 ft. boat on the Great Lakes USA. Our children and dogs grew up having lazy summer weekends and the long month of August traveling Lake Michigan to Lake Superior from Chicago to Canada. Our children learned navigation, how to tie knots, dock a boat and how to handle winds and storms. l'll be honest there were many times it was a pain for me, leading to a few heated arguments. It is another job to clean and maintain. But to hear my adult children talk now about our boating trips is endearing and memorable. Their favorite harbors, teenage escapades and the search story of our lost dogs on a remote island is priceless. So just do it.
My mum & dad are English we moved out to Australia in 1970 my dad’s idea. He also wanted a sailboat but my mum hated boats but one day she gave in & he got a 18 foot sailboat I think it was one of the best things my dad bought. I have some of the happiest & best memories of my dad as a kid sailing with him. Life is to short , go get that beautiful boat you won’t regret it 💕🇦🇺💕
As an herbalist, I’m constantly swooning over your property (in addition to all the beautiful things). Stinging nettle is a natural antihistamine and high in iron/Vitamin D, elderberry is chalk-full of Vitamin C…if you ever really consider an elderflower business, you could expand into Honfleur Herbals 😂💚
We had a 36 ft cruising trawler. We traveled the intercoastal waterway along the east coast of the US. It was a slow quiet lifestyle. We loved it. Nothing compares to a remote anchorage all alone at sunset with a cocktail.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 If living threw the pandemic has hopefully taught us,dont put things off today who knows what the future holds!enjoy the boat!Life is short and the memories are priceless!Ahoy Phiillip!Happy sailing!
How very true! Loved boating when my kids were little and they would fall asleep in my arms on the way back…nice family memories to build. Enjoyed Anna in the kitchen making the drink. P.s. I just love ziggy running around. What a great animal! Yes to the boat!
you guys have a renewed energy, this time last year you were cramming in last minutes renos for the b &b season and this year you're just going to enjoy your summer, you are looking very much in love.
A beautiful boat, and so many lovely memories to make in it!! Boating is a way of life where I come from in the Pacific Northwest, down the West Coast to central California where I live now. Study the boat's most recent survey to ensure its sea worthiness. She is a beauty, indeed!! I'm looking forward to making elderflower cordial next spring, Anna, I am impressed with your recipe, and with both of your talents, thank you for sharing them with us!!
Hi Anna and Philipp, Anna, your elderflower cordial looks good, Philipp, I have a 91yr, old client, who golfed until he was 90 and decided to stop, I asked him why, he said it started to become like work, so if the best days of owning a boat are the day you buy and the day you sell, it will because it's too much like work, so buy it enjoy it, until you don't. Looking forward to what comes next. Love from N.Y.
My dad use to put us in the bucket of the backhoe to lift us above the brambles to get to the blackberry bushes so we wouldn't get scratched up and stung by nettles and poison ivy. Maybe you need to get Jerome the farmer to lift you up to the elder flowers to bypass the nettles.
The boat is beautiful! We had an ODay when our children were younger. It was a light yellow. The Sunny Day ! Sometimes we would just sleep on it tied up to our mooring. Great memories. As our children grew we had less time to be on it. So now we have two kayaks. I wish you the best of luck with your decision. I didn’t have any idea about the beaches in Germany and surfing too! Love the beach baskets ! Anna your cordial looks delicious! Love the wise man’s saying “ do something new every few years”. Ziggy is adorable.
Follow your dreams!🙂 My relatives have a boat and its their favourite thing in life. The sadest times are for them when the boat has to be repaired in a shipyard and the happiest time of the year is in April when the boat is let on the water for the season. In Northern Germany often boats are not in the water all year long. Good luck for the purchase if you should decide to make an offer!🍀
Yes to the boat! Some of my happiest memories were on my dad's boat and my little fishing skiff where I'd scoot about on my own. Life is so short. Don't let that time pass you by.
I vote buy the boat. I'm 65 and my fondest memories are spending all summer racing around the river, in my own boat. Your daughters will have memories to last forever. Anna have you tried making a recipe with the stinging nettles, I seen a video out of the UK, she made a soup, everyone said it was delicious.
Hi from Australia, New to the channel. I watched you explain the decision about buying a yacht. You do what makes you and your family happy. To me!! This is my thoughts, Its your life, enjoy it and be safe 💚🙏👍
@TiggertheTabby Welcome to this amazing Channel. It’s the real deal all round fabulous channel. I’ve been on board from the ‘get go’. Warning: it’s very additive, but definitely worth it. This family and their extended families, as well as craftsmen are pure joy!! Philipp and Anna are two of the most amazingly creative and talented people sharing their vlogs on UA-cam. Phillip has a droll dry sense of humour which instigates hilarious responses from those around him. In my humble opinion this is the best channel on UA-cam. Mary, from sunny Central East Coast, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
Fehmarn is one of our favourite holiday spots - but not only for the beaches but horse riding. Strandkörbe you'll find nowadays also at the North Sea not only the Baltic sea ;-)
I’ve flown in/out of CDG many times. One trip, I grabbed a suitcase identical to mine. Discovered the mistake as I was putting it into the rental car. Every entrance looks the same! Somehow I was able to retrace my steps, find the save entrance, find the door to the right baggage claim - and talked the guard into letting me back in! I was frantic! But found my suitcase 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Just to say we had a boat and one day I was looking through out money outgoings and all I saw was boat repairs costs, boat moorings costs, boat insurance costs, boat fuel costs, wintering and dry dock bills!!!! 🙄😉need I say more. 😅. Just saying dear Phillip. Love your vlogs. Sending love from Rosie🌹 O from Devon England 🇬🇧
A most beautiful boat, Philipp! Another adage for the word is that it stands for "Break out another thousand." 😉 But worth all the adventures you and your family will have! And Anna, it's so good to see you in your lovely kitchen. What a difference from what it was! I know you all must enjoy it! And always love seeing Ziggy in the mix! What a sweet boy! ❤️
There is no way of hiding the basics of character and relationships in a long-running family project YT video. Instead of stifling the tensions and issues, Phillip has a for defusing tensions by airing them. in a way that works for the all the players in his films. You'd almost think he's a professional filmmaker (Oh, he is! But he makes us forget: another gift)
Karl O I was literally about to say the same thing, My father had various boats from as far back as I remember - "My Father used to say 'a boat is a big whole in the water you throw money into.' "
Your prospective new boat is beautiful, and you are right about the necessity of falling in love first and then trusting that she will provide you with adventures of a lifetime! Happy sailing to all of you. “ “Sailing is a direct exemplification of man and nature in cooperation.” ~ Alan Watts
As someone who is from nothern Germany and grew up with "Strandkörben" this was really nice to watch. 🌊🌤Hope you get the boat and visit northern Germany again ❤
Briefly looking at the boat when you are filming, i think you should closely check the hull around the dagger-board well + most probably you will have to do the anti foul (which seems dated).
We have all the same flowers in Michigan as you have, that's so cool to me, to see people sharing across the Atlantic and that the flora and fauna are basically the same. Wonderful fellowship! Also, that boat looks like it was made for you Philipp.
Loved the airport architecture as well Phillip. Anna, I’ve been wanting to make elderflower cordial for a while now- great to see your process. Unfortunately the elderflower bushes at my moms were cut down a few years ago. We don’t have as many of them around in my area of the US, we certainly don’t have any wild ones like in your neighbor’s pasture!
Some of my favourite childhood memories are the summers sailing with my grandparents around the Balearic islands in Spain. If you can do the mantainance and repairs of the boat yourself, it's not so expensive.
Anna, my husband bought a boat but the nearest water way was too far away so he hardly ever got to use the boat, so we sold it. I think Phillip is going through a midlife crisis hope ya'll make the right decision about purchasing a boat. Lots of hugs, Kathy USA
I hope the seller takes your offer - that boat was a classic! How wonderful to give your kids the amazing memories sailing as a family can bring. Fingers crossed! 🤞
Philllip, you are the dreamer of your family and the great thing is that you make them come true by working hard together with your wife and your parents. They deserve to enjoy life while they are young and healthy. I hope you take into account the comments about reviewing the boat more thoroughly, before making an offer.
Efficiency is one of my favourite things, and so that airport really appeals to me. It would also appeal to a friend of ours whom we met originally because he responded to our request for a WWOOFER. He spends most of his year cycling around the world (and he's 70!!!!) and currently he's in France. Sometimes, after checking in to the airport with his big bike box, he has to do a mad dash to the right gate and recently missed a flight because it was so far away! That boat looks stunning Philipp! May your dream come true! 🚤🌠 And those beach baskets would really come in handy for the beach from which I live a couple of blocks away. The easterly is absolutely horrible here and I think this is why it's the only beachside suburb that is incredibly affordable, cheap even... Elderberry syrup looks so easy to make! I'll be making that drink with sparkling wine in the future! 🥂 Love Jacqueline from New Zealand
@jaxstorey6734 I was very much interested in Philipp’s take on the history and design of the airport. I almost missed my recent connecting flight to Amsterdam in Doha, due to the fact the C1 to C40 plus departure gates were in one very very very long line. Not impressed !! To add to my angst, the Flight number and Departure Gate was never displayed on the flight boards. Also they only had one ‘Connection Check In Booth’ which was at the furtherest end of the airport opposite to the departure ‘C Gates’. It was frustrating that floor staff were unable to adequately understand or speak English. Beautiful airport but woeful design and lack of floor staff training!! However on my return flight to Australia from London, I couldn’t fault Dubai airport. Everyone spoke impeccable English, and were very helpful. There were ‘Connection booths’ everywhere. Also the design of the departure gates were so easy, quick and accessible. 10 out of 10 for Dubai Airport.
@@maryacton6046 Waht a great experience at Dubai Airport for you! 👍🏼 No doubt there were massive funds contributing to the perfect design and expierience. Regarding how difficult it is to get around other airports, I can't help but wonder, given our recent global event, if they're not trying to put us off international travel bit by bit... maybe and maybe not... Still, let's keep travelling and exploring and experiencing this glorious planet and all its varied and beautfiul life ☺
We are also bewildered why Strandkorbs are hardly seen in the UK and clearly France. We discovered them in the Baltic as well. Wonderful things. Buy that boat!!
You are both so lovely. Just go for it(if it’s in your budget) because life is far to short. It’s sad to be sitting in years to come and say , if only.🤗
I think the boat is an amazing idea!! I used to sail all around Long Island in USA so fun! Perfect for a family trip! Hope your offer is taken seriously! Love the elderflowers😊
Anna, can you use another ingredient instead of lemon slices? For example, if someone is allergic to citrus fruits. Stinging nettles aren't fun. I found you brave to go ahead and pick from that area. Of course, Pillipp takes the cake when it comes to boat dreaming....I wonder what your decision will be? Loved the ending - cheers back!
Ahahahaha having boated/mostly sailed Lake Ontario for over 30 years... never heard that one, Philip but " a boat is just a whole in the water to throw money into" or "if you have to ask how much a boat is you can't afford it"! I say - if Anna agrees - buy thd boat! Nothing more relaxing and stress zapping then being on the water 🤩 Also, here they sell boats in the water usually so you can feel how she handles. Good luck!
The kitchen is looking so lovely now! I was thinking back to the original state of the kitchen when you all got the chateau and the many trying interim stages... Congratulations again on the wonderful, beautiful and utilitarian kitchen
Agree with you that it’s good to do something new (and maybe unreasonable) about every three years. My project is to buy a pied a terre in France! I live in Houston so this will be a big unreasonable deal! Lovely video, btw! Nice ending and Anna is always wonderful to watch. Salut!
It’s a beautiful boat Phillip. I hope they accept your offer. As an avid follower of many sailing vlogs and love of being out on the sea, I’d definitely enjoy that in your vlogs. Fair winds my friend ❤
I would love you both to tell us about your past careers. I remember you briefly saying but I’d love more detail as you were both successful creatives. I personally would love to see snippets from your past career. Just an idea I have thought about for a while. P.s., I love your channel x
Love it! Get it! I love the boat, it is so beautiful! I can see you all on it already. Exciting times are ahead. I am so happy for you all and looking forward to following your new adventures!
Quelle aventure! What an adventure at sea this will be! The children are at a perfect age. I admire you both for your creativity, skill and work ethic. And look at the stunning results; your château! Bravo!
aaaaw, the suspense now!!! that boat looked amazing…. the baltic sea is amazing for holidays. you would love sailing there! fehmarn is great, heiligenhafen near to it is great, as timmendorf & niendorf. you guys could sail to the eastern part of germany, to the beautiful beaches in of poland, denmark, sweden… ❤
Yep the day we brought it and the day we sold it. Never again, my husband the Captain and I did all the hard work with two children the same age as yours.
I'm not sure how Anna feels about the boat exactly. Maybe how I feel about my husband's new acquisition. When we sold the house, downsizing to a Townhome, Lloyd's 1st dream was to own a Harley. Well he realized that dream and we got a good 15 years and a few long trips out of that. At 65, I really pushed for him to sell it and he did to pay for the youngest daughter's wedding. His other wish was to own a classic Ford truck. Well he had done some work during the lockdown for a businessman and organized his warehouse so well, that he cleared a million profit last year. This businessman gifted him a 1954 Ford Truck, original "Kelly Green" paint. Unbelievable. It needs engine work, like a complete overhaul. My thoughts, hmmmm. I have to come up with a dream of my own. Like a Condo overlooking the ocean off the coast of Vancouver 🇨🇦😊
Do it! we had 30 foot Morgan sailboat we loved. We kept her moored at our family home, so that helped in costs, but be prepared. It's rather true the quote that a boat is a "Whole in the sea into which you throw money" but it was such joy. There was heartache and frustration (once lost our motor and our roller furling coming back from the vineyard and that was an interesting nail biter) We sadly no longer have our boat, but we enjoyed it. I loved our sails to the vineyard and waking early moored there and making coffee on our little oil stove as our puppies slumbered below. It's probably silly now that we live on the sea and no longer have our sail boat, but it seems to be phases. Now I enjoy the sea in different ways, but embrace the moment, it's Truly where we all should live the fullest.
Cheers to husbands and wives who make each others dreams’ come true! 🌷
Agreed. My husband came home one day drooling about a classic muscle car he'd seen. One he'd always wanted. We are in a good place. No debts. kids on their own so I encouraged him to go for it. It's fun to see him enjoy it.
Poor Anna! Phillips got boat brain.😂 The things us wives have to endure. 😂 Thank you
That sail boat took my breath away, shes beautiful! As a 30 year boat owner I can tell you that taking a sunrise swim around the boat then wrapping up in a towel while sipping a hot coffee is beyond the description of the word glorious. Don't let rainy days stop you either! Read magazines , eat and nap in the cabin it's wonderful . Go get her! ⛵️
The elderflowers are so pretty! If Philipp can buy a boat, Anna can become the premier elderflower mogul in France. Toasting to your dreams!!
As an internationally renowned influencer, Philip deserves a boat!
I'm surprised this answer doesn't get more likes, it is the plain truth. 😄
Me extraña que esta respuesta no tenga más likes, es la pura verdad.
Yes, you will be just as happy the day you sell the boat (speaking from experience). Buy the boat anyway! Life is short and you should experience everything. ⛵️ ❤
That’s two happy days you wouldn’t otherwise have!
We all know Phillip will buy his dream boat. He wouldn't travel all that way for nothing. I say go for it. You only live once. It will create many happy family memories. ❤
I hope your toast to the boat comes true Phillip. I was expecting an orange boat in all honesty. 😂
No matter what they do....I absolutely ❤ their videos, very entertaining and he is hysterical at times!!
you are surly the most intimate couple on you tube. Love watching your adventures
Doing some catching up as was away in The Aveyron region of France and then a quick trip to Spain followed. You always make me smile and quite often laugh out loud….thank you for sharing. God bless you all xx
I have a fabulous classic yacht…. It’s my third, however, this one I have lived on for six years and we are still in love ⚓️
We didn't have boats....just diary cows. Milk, cream, cheese and ice cream. They can't take you away, but they are delicious. Ziggy is so adorable. Love elder flowers.
Philip the boat…. The best idea you have ever had x Happy sailing x Love to all the family x
Adore your vedios!
And I say Philip you go get your boat you deserve it!
And I remember last year or the year before when you took the family out on a boat for vacation..
It made for exodinary vedio; the cinematography was stunning.

I for one would LOVE to see Anna work her design magic on a boat.
You know, that actually would be interesting... hmn.
More painting jobs ahead! 😀
This is Grandma from Texas. I just love y’all. I always anticipate your videos. Y’all are a lovely family. Thank you for sharing your stories with us.

I made the Elderflower Cordial and I am in love!! So delightful and refreshing! Thank you for sharing ❣

Found two years ago a old boat during a run. Felt in love, bought it, refreshed it and sailed it this week. Go for it 🎉
I laughed when he said he’d have to use his phone like old times because the car didn’t have gps, in old times he would have had to use a map lol.
Some of my favourite childhood memories are the summers sailing with my grandparents around the Balearic islands in Spain.
If you can do the mantainance and repairs of the boat yourself, it's not so expensive.
Ahh yes...sunsets, beaches, water and living on a boat. sigh~ Excited to see what you both decide. Thanks for sharing! ox⛵
I am so delighted for you giving yourself your boat. A dream come true

Elderflower sirup in a drink is the best, hugo is also very popular in germany😌
Good luck with the boat🍀
Anna's gonna need that elderflower business....
Loved this video today! I make elderberry syrup with the berries! Is really good for colds!
Are you sailing?! where was Sunday’s video?
Philllip, you are the dreamer of your family and the great thing is that you make them come true by working hard together with your wife and your parents. They deserve to enjoy life while they are young and healthy. I hope you take into account the comments about reviewing the boat more thoroughly, before making an offer.
I think you need to buy that boat! It’s relaxing work. Just your style!
Stunning views of the chateau 💗
Efficiency is one of my favourite things, and so that airport really appeals to me. It would also appeal to a friend of ours whom we met originally because he responded to our request for a WWOOFER. He spends most of his year cycling around the world (and he's 70!!!!) and currently he's in France. Sometimes, after checking in to the airport with his big bike box, he has to do a mad dash to the right gate and recently missed a flight because it was so far away!
That boat looks stunning Philipp! May your dream come true! 🚤🌠
And those beach baskets would really come in handy for the beach from which I live a couple of blocks away. The easterly is absolutely horrible here and I think this is why it's the only beachside suburb that is incredibly affordable, cheap even...
Elderberry syrup looks so easy to make! I'll be making that drink with sparkling wine in the future! 🥂
Love Jacqueline from New Zealand
I was thinking about the same thing while watching! I loved my summers sailing around Long Island. Wishing you a happy summer :)
This man is relentless! He will get his boat!!🤣🤣
So does this mean that you are no longer going to renovate the outbuildings, or are you getting the boat in addition to the planned renovations?
I would love you both to tell us about your past careers. I remember you briefly saying but I’d love more detail as you were both successful creatives. I personally would love to see snippets from your past career.
Just an idea I have thought about for a while.
P.s., I love your channel x
Love it! Get it! I love the boat, it is so beautiful! I can see you all on it already. Exciting times are ahead. I am so happy for you all and looking forward to following your new adventures!
Captain Philippe, has a certain ring about it! Best wishes from Australia x
finally a boat! Happy to see next adventures on water!
Quelle aventure! What an adventure at sea this will be! The children are at a perfect age. I admire you both for your creativity, skill and work ethic. And look at the stunning results; your château! Bravo!
This was so enjoyable to watch! Loved the vibes, chill energy, scenery, the recipe, picturesque camera shots and the small history intro.
Living on our sailboat watching channels on renovating chateaus 😂 cheers to all the dreamers out there
Haha, we’re just the opposite way round :)
Thanks for taking us along to Germany! Best of luck in your boat pursuits!
Get the boat an enjoy it. I loved our boat
aaaaw, the suspense now!!! that boat looked amazing…. the baltic sea is amazing for holidays. you would love sailing there!
fehmarn is great, heiligenhafen near to it is great, as timmendorf & niendorf. you guys could sail to the eastern part of germany, to the beautiful beaches in of poland, denmark, sweden… ❤
Ana, I ❤ your elderflower liqueur recipe! By the way, your kitchen look gorgeous. Your husband is bold and funny😊
cause the lemons were used unpeeled . . . . did Anna buy untreated lemons, hopefully ?
Cheers to you both and your prospective watercraft!!
Do it! we had 30 foot Morgan sailboat we loved. We kept her moored at our family home, so that helped in costs, but be prepared. It's rather true the quote that a boat is a "Whole in the sea into which you throw money" but it was such joy. There was heartache and frustration (once lost our motor and our roller furling coming back from the vineyard and that was an interesting nail biter)
We sadly no longer have our boat, but we enjoyed it.
