Also when I was little I didn't know how the whole Miss Ms. Mrs. thing worked and in my head the teacher's name was consistently pronounced "miss" and I didn't find out I was wrong until watching Lulaloopsey and Athena's videos now as an adult.
And like, little kids are the ones who are doing most of this stuff for the first time, of course they have questions. You would too if you barely even knew what a bus is and no one will tell you where you're going or even listen to you.

The people who say these books are terrible for children do not know what they’re talking about 😂. These books were so much fun and creative! They show an imperfect character and I learned a lot from Junie’s mistakes rather than echoing her especially terrible behaviour. (Honestly I kinda wish I’d taken on some of her sass and confidence as a child). She’s so much fun and I still have ALL my books. If I have kids I’m definitely reading these books to them

i used to collect these when i was five, my uncle used to give me one every time he came down to visit! one of the first books i’ve ever actually read on my own in school was a junie B jones book!!
My mom was very obsessed with these books when I was little. She loved reading them to me and found them incredibly hilarious (I got second hand embarrassment more often than not despite being the same age as Junie B. but I was very shy and introverted) but I still enjoyed them cause she enjoyed them and we read them together. I have very fond memories. Now my mom is disabled and can’t read herself so I often read books to her and occasionally I’ll get out a Junie B. I mean, the way she made these characters leap of the page with her performances, was everything to me, it was truly camp and 6 year old me LIVED every time she pulled those books out. The first book she read to us was “The Monster Under The Bed” book and it scared the hell outta me as a kid. I could not sleep for weeks because of that book.

She got fired because of the sheer amount of kids that found out about it but then she got REHIRED as the Junior high principal, and they got married. Also, the band teacher at our junior high and highschool is the superintendents son. Meaning that he has to work for his stepmom that his dad cheated with 💔

Also though this made me think of another book series I loved just as much, also a slice of life series with a girl who grew up through the series... Ramona by Beverly Cleary-- if you ever did a lore video on them I'd be so happy lol they're a bit of a different vibe but very fun! She has her own way of thinking too
When I was in 1st grade, I went to see the Junie B Jones musical for a school field trip. It's the only memory I can think of whenever Junie B Jones is mentioned. The props fascinated younger me but I don't remember much of what it looked like.
So...Junie B means a lot to me. My Grandma (RIP) was a very kind woman, but also very stern. I spent a lot of time at her house as a kid, and we didn't see eye to eye on a lot of the things I liked at the time. She hated Spongebob, thought Hannah Montana was annoying, and didn't get the general concept of Club Penguin or Webkinz. Reading Junie B with her was the first time I ever saw her genuinely laugh out loud. She adored those books (and the Wimpy Kid series). It was magical, and I will always treasure those memories.

Grace and Ollie were on the police force, Lucille was the mob boss that owned the police, and Junie gets framed for a crime, and Jim is like a PI/bounty hunter and is helping her prove her innocence while they also hunt down the real criminals. I also remember as a kid I kinda shipped Junie and Lucille's older brother, so obviously we've got an love triangle with Junie, Jim, and the brother

Jones books and I was OBSESSED! I had this like Junie B Jones diary/best friend book that talked about how Junie was my best friend and I had to draw us hanging out. I was obsessed with it.
I LOVED Junie B Jones as a kid, I reread the boxset I got for my birthday over and over. I also even got the thanksgiving book in the second grade (it was my only hardcover of the series) Needless to say easily one of my top read stories as a kid
Absolutely enjoyed the trip down memory lane! Also low-key if you ever decide to narrate any audiobooks. I'm buying every single book

I read these books like the gosh darn bible as a kid; spent a lot of time reading them outloud to my mom too when she was driving and we'd laugh. Junie B was truly an icon.
Also though this made me think of another book series I loved just as much, also a slice of life series with a girl who grew up through the series... Ramona by Beverly Cleary-- if you ever did a lore video on them I'd be so happy lol they're a bit of a different vibe but very fun! She has her own way of thinking too
When I was in 1st grade, I went to see the Junie B Jones musical for a school field trip. It's the only memory I can think of whenever Junie B Jones is mentioned. The props fascinated younger me but I don't remember much of what it looked like.

So...Junie B means a lot to me.
My Grandma (RIP) was a very kind woman, but also very stern. I spent a lot of time at her house as a kid, and we didn't see eye to eye on a lot of the things I liked at the time. She hated Spongebob, thought Hannah Montana was annoying, and didn't get the general concept of Club Penguin or Webkinz.
Reading Junie B with her was the first time I ever saw her genuinely laugh out loud. She adored those books (and the Wimpy Kid series). It was magical, and I will always treasure those memories.

I don’t realize that I had read so many of her books. Junie B was (AND STILL IS) the most relatable character I had ever read, and is truly iconic ♥ The book about the teacher stealing grapes is always haunting me (and I HATE Mrs)
I remember watching a movie that i think was supposed to be about her (or at the time i thought it was) and i got really emotional about it but the only things i remember was the cat dying and her sister? Babysitting? Told her to bite m&ms heads first so they die quickly and mostly painlessly

That movie is Ramona and Beezus. There was never a Junie B Jones movie (A tv show based on the books was announced in 2021 but it’s currently stuck in development hell)

At my elementary school sometimes every other year they’d come and do a Junie B Jones themed play. I don’t remember my peers enjoying it as much but I adored these shows.

Junie B Jones was one of the few books I got as a gift that really made me excited growing up. I’ve never been a book person, but when I got glasses, my parents got me the Junie B book where she got glasses and I felt very seen.

Grace and Ollie were on the police force, Lucille was the mob boss that owned the police, and Junie gets framed for a crime, and Jim is like a PI/bounty hunter and is helping her prove her innocence while they also hunt down the real criminals. I also remember as a kid I kinda shipped Junie and Lucille's older brother, so obviously we've got an love triangle with Junie, Jim, and the brother

In first grade I did group reading and that's how I found out I love it and also I read way too far ahead. I started visiting the library and Junie b Jones books were the first ones I ever read and my favorite. I remember memories of it vividly. I loved Junie so much, like she was my idol.
The Junie B. Jones books played an integral part in my childhood. When I was younger, I used to listen to the audiobooks to help me fall asleep at night. It makes me really happy to see someone dive into the lore of it.

When I was in elementary school, my mom bought me one of those tiny little Amazon Kindle tablets and downloaded a bunch of books onto it for me to try, including almost all of the Junie B. Jones books and I was OBSESSED! I loved her outfits, I loved her strong personality, and I loved how there was a book for any topic, like when my tooth was loose, I could read about her tooth being loose, or if I was scared of something, I could read the monster one.
THANK YOU for talking about how frustrating it was when the adults ignored her or didn't properly help her manage her emotions, I always wanted to hug her even as a child

I have a core memory of when I was a little kid of my mom reading out that one book where Junie B. tries being a hairdresser. After she cut off the bunny slippers fuzz my mom did a really weird voice with the line “We’re baldies!!” And it gets referenced in my family all the time :)

43:12 Funnily enough Nickelodeon announced in 2021 that they were going to make a Junie B Jones tv show (though nothing has been announced since then so it’s likely stuck in development hell)
interesting fact, the reason most people might find fruit cake horrible is because aside the dried and candied fruit, its also because it most often bake with rum in it to keep it preserved. also centuries ago having a fruit cake meant that you could afford to have fruit during the harsh winter
Man I haven't thought about this book since elementary school my second grade teacher loved these books and would read them to us all the time and I didn't think I remembered that much until you were reading passages 😭 I think you should check out the Magic Treehouse books because they go completely insane after a couple of books
