I'm 73 and a self-taught former drummer from the 60's. The Ventures were one of several instrumental groups that taught me the art of drumming when I played with a local rock band from 1960 to 1964. The Ventures are 60's gold and they still sound great in 2020! Thanks for posting this memory lane video!

I was borne in California 1968. Great stuff. I'm a Son of a Dutch Man I never got to surf just Boogie board. Then we moved to Utah in 1975 . I feel cheated except the music flowed me. The last beach I was on was near Amsterdam July 1991 .during the Jazz festival. I ran into the waves like a Salmon swims up River. Thanks for the Wonderful music
Back in the mid-1960’s my father(now deceased) owned a car stereo shop in St. Paul, MN. We had one customer who was a huge Ventures fan. Whenever we got any Ventures tapes it was a guaranteed sale. Those were fun times(and I still enjoy the Ventures).

The Ventures had real skill to play their electric guitars. Their tunes are still among my favorites some sixty years later. Good music never goes out of style.

I don't intend to even mention that any of the guitar playing masters who most people hold on a pedestal. Individual Glory hounds each and every one of them. Never has any of these icons put goose pimples on me like the combined talent of the. Ventures doing their thing. UNPARALLELED.

I was born in 1968 but grew up listening this kind of music. I loved it. My dad could pick a guitar and I loved watching him play. But over the past few years my dad doesn't play anymore. He's had some health issues and hasn't really wanted to pick his guitar up and play it. He'll be 75 in February of 2022.
Went to South High, Torrance, CA 1959-'63..... Started surfing spring 1960.... Have put together a large playlist of all the Surf Rock from those days..... Ventures are still one of my faves.... 79th birthday in a couple weeks..... Still healthy and lovin' 50s-70s music.... Life is rich....

I love the driving force in this , you really don't want to know why , but I love driving sounds in music. It's coming at you and it isn't going to stop.
Man, this was a great band, no other band like them since. In 1960 I was six years old, but I remember my older sister playing their records or have the radio blaring when my mom wasn’t home. Then years later when I was a junior in high school, we would have pep rally’s in the auditorium on a Friday during school, then a football game that night, and I’ll never forget the cheerleaders came out and performed to “Walk don’t Run”. I thought that was the coolest thing ever and it really brought back a lot of great memories. I don’t think half the kids even knew that song or anything about The Ventures, but I was one lucky teen that did because of my sister. I found out after I graduated my sister went to high school (same one I attended) with the gym coach that was the coach for the cheerleaders. Small world, great choice of music and wonderful memories.
Frampton can play a lick or two and is not out of his league with this sit in. Looked like he was having fun jammin' with this group of legendary status. Great stuff!

The Ventures sold over 100 million records. One of which was my dad’s copy of The Ventures On Stage (1965). I had to buy it on cd after I wore out his old vinyl. I told him that between him and the Ventures, it’s why I play guitar
All these gems were being played in the house I grew up in and bring back memories of a happier time. I grew up with women, my aunts who were teenagers at the time,played these songs on an old box RCA that was the one with the dog listening in wonder with his head slightly tilted. The same record player I introduced them to The Kinks and the Beatles on.
This song came out in 1963, it was the first song I learned how to play on the guitar, I was 14 at the time. I owned every "Ventures" LP that ever came out. Nokie Edwards was my guitar hero back then, Most of you here probably weren't even born then. But back then, we guitar players had to listen to the records 33 and a third over and over to figure out what the notes and chords were. There wasn't any YT to "show" you how to play every single note -- must be nice.
