They are Lehigh Defense produced bullets. The 115 grain bullet is used as the Extreme Defender by Underwood and the 140 grain bullet is used for their Extreme Penetrator round. They also make a 100 grain solid copper bullet fluted in 10MM. Underwood Claims their 140 Extreme Penetrator 140 Gr at 1500 FPS 700Ft.Lbs Energy, 115 Extreme Defender 115Gr 1700 FPS and 738 Ft. Lbs Energy and their 100 Gr Extreme Defender 100 Gr 1875 FPS and 781 Ft. Lbs Energy. I have and have fired all of these, I don't have any Honey Badger and have never fire them. All function very well in my S&W 1006.
@@lucasschmitz4588 I'm talking about the Bullet itself, the projectile. They are made by Lehigh Defense. The difference between the actual Cartridges is the company's loading. Both use the Lehigh Defense Projectile. Black Hills makes the "Honey Badger" line, Underwood make the "Extreme Penetrator" and "Extreme Defender" line and both use Lehigh's Fluted Solid copper projectile.
@@lucasschmitz4588 Lehigh Defense makes the HoneyBadger to Black Hill's specs. In some Black Hills loadings, they are indeed Lehigh Xtreme bullets; in others, they are Black Hill spec'ed bullets. But they are all made by Lehigh.

@dkdogs thanks guys for your feedback! I just need to confirm that the Springfield xdm 9mm can tolerate +P ammo. On different Springfield discourse boards I heard differing opinions
Talked to guys running G9 external hollow point 95 grain and woodsman 145 grain out of their 10mm ronins and they said it ran just fine. I will test 95gr tomorrow out of mine
Very good. But I do think that tough gel would better represent the ability of deep penetration. Without knowing for certain it would be difficult to choose a light bullet of only 115 gr. I just instinctively feel it would have a tough time going through a tough bear.
I ted to take your word for things on here, if you say its good then its good. That big dan wesson is certainly a beautiful massive weapon, the size of it put me in mind of a 50 cal desert eagle. I can't afford such a thing but if i could, even if i didnt shoot it much i'd get a slightly used taurus 454 casual i saw at a local ffl for 750. jus to say i had it lol
I think it is...."Watch him almost die, everytime, guaranteed!" See his video titled Mossberg 500 Tactical for Bear. He says it at the beginning. He says Chuke in that video, instead of "him" like the song has.
I think momentum is a better measure of a cartridge's effectiveness. Momentum is the product of mass times velocity. The Underwood round is 140 * 1445 = 202,300. The Honey Badger round is 115 * 1621 = 186, 415. Underwood is the clear winner. For comparison, Underwood 200 grain hardcast rated at 1250 fps = 250,000. Penetration is key and is best predicted by momentum. Energy is a questionable metric to predict effectiveness against large game animals.
There are a lot of videos with people test against gelatin to document depth of penetration but there is a video where they were testing solid copper against hollow points. Fortunately they used a high speed camera to watch the slo-mo behavior of the rounds. The hollow points achieved better penetration and a larger PERMANENT wound channel. The sold coppers produced a TEMPORARY wound channel that almost exploded out of the gelatin. The solid would produce a balloon effect that would crush all of the chest organs against the rib cage. This resembles the famous tumbling rounds of the M16. The F.B.I. testing standard takes none of this into account. I will take the lighter, faster bullet than has less recoil and shoots flatter.
Good Morning ☀️ Chuke. I Gave Your UA-cam Video A Huge Thumbs Up 👍 Ok Chuke. Iam Still Praying 🙏 For The Entire World Too Ok Chuke. I Love ❤️ Watching You Shoot At The Gun Range Too Chuke. Keep Up The Great Work Chuke And Thanks 🙏 For This UA-cam Video Update. I Hope That You Are Having A Wonderful And Blessed 😇 Saturday Morning Today Chuke. Amen 🙏.
Flattening the bullets by hitting the plates first, ruins any true test of how it would work on a bear. Penetration has to do with getting through the hide. Then the thick layer of fat. And finally the bones. Your hitting plates first would be like hitting the bones first. Not realistic. Maybe next time you can use some hog flesh instead of plates to simulate what the hide and thick bear fat would do.
Still not riding the thumb safety.....the Razorback will get you mauled/killed in a bear attack because you're not training the way you'll need to react in an emergency
Good to hear more companies loading the 10mm Auto to proper velocities and power.
Indeed. Maybe in another 4 or 5 years I'll actually buy a 10mm now
Sippin' coffee, and watching the Chukmeister with my dog. Sun has the sky orange. You gotta EARN these sunrises! 👍
What's the Chukmeister doing with your dog? 😉
That Razorback is dope Chuke. I really want a Delta Elite.

I am an Underwood guy too! All I carry. But I must say, I’ll pick up a box of this to try also. Impressive! Great content!
I love this that 907 is shipping ammo thanks Chuck. Thank you for the info.
Great information! Nice ammo.
Thanks

Great video and plenty of info Chuck, many thanks and thumbs up from NZ,, Tony.
I am super surprised that a bullet that light would penetrate that well by comparison. Interesting video, very cool!
Dan Wesson - truly one of the finest pistols made, and CZ hasn't f'd it up , yet!
Nice addition to woods carry 10 mil ammo line up. I have the Federal Syntech 200g and G9 Woodsman 147g in my 510 mags right now.
Seems like nobody wants to test G9 10mm...can't figure out why...and I mean nobody especially in gel
@@01PATRIOT4EVER I noticed that too, even Tools won't test it.
Thanks for the review Chuke. Nice load I think it would get the job done.
Very nice 👍
nice one Chuke ...
I was hoping someone was going to do this review
Cool 😎 some new ammo to try thanks for the information 👍☕️
Cool video I have not heard of them until now I’m interested in them it makes me want to see if they make 45acp and 9mm to.

How is the recoil?
Chuke, ❤ shoot the Grizzly wearing a bullet proof vest with ceramic chest plate on your next test. Bruce Lee says, "Water jugs don't fight back." 😅
Thanks for another great videos! GOT A QUESTION: going to grizzly area and only have a 9mm Springfield xdm, what ammo would you recommend?
Underwood +p+ extreme penetrators or +p hardcast from Underwood or 147 grain hardcast outdoorsman ammo from Buffalo bore
FMJ Fastest 147gr. You can find... if you cant find Buffalo Bores or Underwoods.

Would glock gen 5 be adequate?
Apparently, the sheriff of Baghdad loves these rounds. He says most ammo is gimmick except for this.
So no issues feeding this type of ammo in your 1911. Is the feed ramp polished ?

The main issue with all these specialty ammo types is will they be absolutely reliable in your bear defense pistol? No such issue with revolvers.
G9?? Very nice pistol
Honey Badger, don't give a shit! It's pretty badass.
interesting you would approve this for bear defense, always thought you needed more mass to penetrate well. cheers
I Agree ☝️
Nope.
Kinetic Energy =
(.5 mass) x (velocity^2)
Put that energy behind a bullet that stays in one piece and you have good penetration.
A good way to see this in real life is gel tests comparison between 45acp (slow-heavy) and the 357mag (lighter-faster).
40 call numbers . Just kidding I’m impressed with the honey badger thanks man ur the best
Does well, I still prefer the 170 hardcast

hard to find double action 10mm pistol usually see striker or single action pistols. underwood is good.
I think I will stick with the 200 grain Underwood black cherry
For myself with ' tests' like this I look at over penetration, that I do not want with defensive ammo.
This goes to show. Don't believe none of what you hear. The honey badgers are MEAN (😡😡😡)❗️I am very impressed with these loads.

Honey badger said they don't make 44mag anymore
Honey Badger don't give a ffff.
Looks like G9 ammo.
I think Buffalo bore is better than both of those.
For some reason the buffalo bore ammo kept hanging up in my Glock 29. I switched to Underwood and have never had a ftf with them.
