Oceano Dunes Pismo Beach // What’s It All About?

- Our 1st On The Beach RV Camping experience came at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular recreational beach at Pismo Beach. Yes you cross a river, yes, you need a 4x4, yes, you might get stuck. That’s about it. It’s a Mad Max environment with every imaginable sand machine roaring by continuously. It adds to the memorability of the entire RV Road Trip.
Other than the motorized rambunctiousness, digging out, both truck and trailer, seems to be a nonchalant activity expected to occur. During our short visitation we saw at least 4 stuck rigs, all of which were rescued by other Campers, their shovels, their trucks, and, their winches.
We didnt see any Class A’s out there, or Class C’s and Vans for that matter, 4x4 trucks towing 5th Wheels and Travel Trailers made up the bulk of Camping Units parked all along the shoreline.
As far as returning? Maybe! If for instance a UA-camr Meet Up was called and Oceano Dunes was the meet up site, ya, we’d go. But as a destination for just RV camping again… it’s a one time experience for The Lost RVers. There’s other beach camping to be explored.
So thanks for watching this episode of…

👍🖐️🤙
Wow, what a scene!
Thought about you when we got there, what a perfectly MADD place e for meetup👍👍🤣
@@TheLostRVers crazy stuff. It makes Q look deserted.
This place is all about sand machines and fishing… oh, and getting stuck lololol
What month did you film this? Trying to plan the best month to go out there.
March… 👍 it’s a crazy place but a must do at least “once” kind of place to visit 🖐️
Hello Pismo
Did u have to deflate the truck or trailer tires?
We didn’t but we saw about 5 rigs get stuck, a few did deflate. I think the trick is to keep Moving until the spot you want to make camp is right on top of you, then turn left without slowing down ( that’s what I did anyway) the two rigs being dug out on this video slowed to a STOP then made the left. Same with the others who deflated, they HESITATED and their tires sunk. I guess the point is: don’t stop until you get to your campsite or you will need to dig out or deflate and hope to get out.
You should deflate to about 15psi
Hi what time is best to cross the creek 🤔
Low tide. Get a tidal guide at any sporting goods stores … the lower the tide the better…. Or better yet just pull it up on Google. 🖐️👍
@@TheLostRVers thanks 🙏🏼
