I love this style, immediately bought the worksheets after they came out. I just wish you had included some more common phrases (happy birthday, merry christmas, etc) for those of us who aren't really good yet ;-) Also, I'm enamored with the way you write your letters in "normal" modern calligraphy - any chance to get (affordable) worksheets just for the alphabet?
Thank you so much for your kind comment and feedback - I very much appreciate it 🙏🏼 I’ve made a set of free lettering ‘cheat sheets’ that have the whole alphabet - maybe these would be helpful? Have a look here: ipadlettering.com/freebies/ 🤗
@@iPadLettering Thank you so much, I had completely forgotten about the freebies! So far, I like your style of modern calligraphy the best, as it really looks modern and not so stiff. :-)
Hi Elaine! Yes I think it’s a good idea to practice the traditional style first - having to deal with the thin and thick strokes AND the distance between letters at the same time can be tricky! Once you are super comfy with the thick and thin strokes you can then start adding in the extensions 😍🤗
@@iPadLettering That’s good to know, Karin, thanks 👍🏻 I’ve been focusing on creating my own digital planner lately but when I finish it, then I’ll start practicing lettering. I actually took two terms of calligraphy in college back in 1969 but didn’t keep up with it except to doodle letterforms while talking on the phone 😄 So I’m looking forward to getting back into lettering digitally ☺️
Not a comment on you or the channel, simply on the trend of script lettering. I cannot for the life of me understand how or why this is popular. It's UGH...it's just awful. Give me good old fashion cursive and call it a day.
It’s a form of art - not everyone has the same taste 😊 I do this because I enjoy it and like the look of it - but this is not how I normally write, haha.
Another lovely video!! 😍
Thank you!

Yayyy!!! Would you say the new brush is the same as your IPL extended script brush or is it different?
The 2 brushes are similar, but this one is more pressure sensitive so you’ll be able to make your upstrokes and swashes a lot thinner 🥰🤗
Thanks, Karin! Do you think it’s a good idea to become proficient in traditional lettering before attempting this style?

Not sure why, but I’m having trouble finding the brush. Can you link it please?
Yes sure - the brush comes with the practice sheets: ipadlettering.com/shop/practice-sheets/extended-script-practice-sheets :)
I don’t understand the word “squash” for the “swish”, or I just call it the beginning stroke hahah I blame it on the accent barrier!
So sorry 🙈 My accent is terrible 😭😭😭 I thought it was called a ‘swash’ - but maybe not?
@@iPadLettering No don’t apologize! Hahah your accent is lovely! Everyone has different words for that bit!
What is the font called?
