Make sure you watch to the end of the video to get access to the free practice sheets and Procreate brush ☺️And let me know which stroke you enjoy practicing the most!
iPad Lettering Hello Karin, how long will the practice kit be available? Could I download them now and install once I get my new iPad? Also, we have on the same Apple Watch band.
Helpful! I'm not much of an artist but I have always wanted to learn 'fancy' lettering. My handwriting has always been pretty rough but I never did anything about it. Now I'm in my 50's and I want to create things for my children and grandchildren to put on their walls and make them on my ipad pro. I am starting this path with your videos and practice sheets. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your kind feedback! I love your motivation to create lettering art for your children and grandchildren - it's so nice for them to have something handmade by you 🥰🤗
I love how you make understanding how to use Procreate for lettering very easy. The fact that you made the things that you used free on your website is wonderful. Thank you so much for being such an amazing person and teaching how to write and do lettering on the iPad.
I love your videos. You have inspired me so much. I just received my ipad a few weeks ago and I was not excited about using it until your videos. You are amazing!!!
Just snagged an ipad and I'm thrilled to get started with my lettering practice. Installation of the brush and importing the sheets looked intimidating, but it was quite simple to do. Thanks for this.
Thank you for providing us with the lesson and practice sheets plus brush. I have wanted to learn to do lettering in Procreate for years, but I was afraid. I just followed along with you and enjoyed it. I do need a lot of practice, but your sheets will help me greatly.
I'm not interested on iPad Iettering cuz it's not my main language but I love to watch your videos and enjoy plan with me videos and the, zinnia app, but you got me exciting to try lettering. Your videos brings me joy. 🎨
Thank you so much for this video! I have been letting on paper for a few years but recently got the Apple Pencil for my iPad. I look forward to my practice with procreate
I just got my Apple Pencil and now I’m trying to get into hand lettering! I’m left handed so I struggle a little 🥲 but your practice brush and practice sheets are awesome!
Thanks Karin! This is exactly what I have been looking for - a great foundation to build on. I will be following all your tutorials, I can promise you that :)
This is everything I have been looking for. Zinnia actually led me to you and you just have no idea how badly I needed your guidance in my life! Thank you so much and I cannot wait to tell my family members all I need for my birthday and Christmas from now on are gift cards to your shop bc I need 1 of everything you have ever made or will ever make! Seriously, THANK YOU!!!
I’m so glad I stumbled across you and thanks for the free worksheets. I will have to watch this video again and again...but how do I reset all the settings in procreate back to default? Or better yet, what settings do I need to have it on???
hiya! If you want to start over, I recommend that you import the worksheets and brush again ☺️ Oh - and I also made an update video you might like to watch as well: ua-cam.com/video/WwvZV-V7C1I/v-deo.html 🤗
Thanks for the free sheets and brush however I can’t get my brush to thicken the way yours does in the tutorial. I tried another brush with tapering ends and it worked better.
Thank you so much for sharing these tutorials. I'm just starting to learn Procreate, and love the idea of making my own lettering. Hopefully to incorporate into my own Cricut designs, which I'm also just starting to learn. I'm definitely going to need a lot of practice writing letters on my iPad, but I think it's fun already. So far I find the letter J the easiest.
You are most welcome! I wasn't an artist myself before I started my iPad Lettering journey - I'm sure you'll get the hang of it quickly with a bit of practice ☺️
Thank you so much! This is exactly what ive been looking for to help me get use to brush lettering. The only flaw I see here is that you’re not a leftie. So I’m trying to mirror the way you hold your pencil. Thanks!
Haha, sorry for not being a leftie 🙈 I always wanted to be because I think lefties are more creative! Don’t worry too much about how to hold the pencil, whatever you feel comfortable with is totally fine ☺️
I unzipped the practice sheets and the procreate brush from your kit but i cannot aces the brush. Please help, what am I doing wrong. I followed all your steps.
Thank you SO much for this! And thank you for being so generous in giving us free practice sheets and brushes! I am already looking forward to next week's video!
Thank you so much for this. I’ve just got my iPad Pro and fund all the tutorials rather overwhelming. I’m going to definitely download your brush and practice sheets. I’ve also subscribed 👍🏻
This was very helpful. Thank you. I just got a ipad pro and I'm ready to get started on this journey. I've did the brush lettering now I got a ipad in excited to start.
This is great! I wanted to try hand lettering but didn’t want to get pens, journal etc so I was so excited to find your tutorials and practice sheets! One question, for these practice sheets and in general for others what % is your brush size set at? I am using your practice sheets and brush but finding if I am at 10% I can get the thin line but can’t really get the thick line. Thanks!
So glad you found it helpful! The size of the brush really depends on the actual brush itself, it’s not always the same. I’ve got another video where I’m sharing some tips if you are struggling with the thick downstrokes: ua-cam.com/video/9QzEei55rxQ/v-deo.html - hopefully this helps! 🤗
Hello, I’ve just downloaded your page and brush thank you. As started to watch you practice I just realized should I practice my strokes the the same direction being left handed?
This was helpful but I have a logitech crayon stylus because the apple pencil was too expensive and it does everything the apple pencil does except the pressure sensitivity
Thank you Karin❣️❣️ once I figured out what I was suppose to do to get around on the iPad , it was easy😊👍🏻 but now the practice Wow do I need practice❣️😁👍🖊🖊🖊
This was helpful. I didn't know about the press of the pencil creates the different thicknesses. I just wish people doing tutorials would show us how to use the Procreate tools or at least show how to create the tool being used so we don't have to down load a tool.
Glad to hear you found it helpful! Unfortunately Procreate doesn't come with the practice sheets built in, that's why I made them, and you can get them for free from my website :) I know it's an extra step, but you only have to do it once and will be able to practice for as long as you like.
Thank you soo much for these! I downloaded the freebie sheets, but not sure if the pen has come with it, and I can’t seem to find the right pen to practice with :( is there any way I can download it separately? Thank you again ☺️
Thank you for the videos and I have question when I drow in procreate how can I print it Also if I a beginner should I learn how to drow from zero and use paper and pencil or okay to start with ipad?
I have your brushes and your lettering sheets but I cannot for the life of me make the different line weights. No matter how hard or how light, the thickness does not change. Can you do a video going through each o the pen settings?
Hmmm - I wonder if your Apple Pencil is working properly? If you are curious about the brush settings - you might like to watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/HCIkvp-StLI/v-deo.html 😄
Did you use a new brush for the thick downstrokes? I did not notice you change brushed but it became thick, or is it a style in holding the apple pencil?
Hiya! I'm using the same brush for the upstrokes and the downstrokes :) It's a brush setting that will make the stroke thicker when you put more pressure on your Apple Pencil.
Thank you for your reply. Can you tell me which setting is that? Because I’m thinking that i can’t do the same thing you’re doing because I’m not using an original apple pencil. Do i have to buy an apple pen or will my generic pen do but i have ti change the setting?
For so long, I wanted to learn lettering design and now I can do it. I’m so excited. Thank you for the tutorial, I love it. However, I have a question, I was trying to do the last letter in the first sheet and I couldn’t. Idk if it’s the type of stylus that I used or what it is. I did as you said, less pressure in the thin line and hard pressure for the thick ones but all of them are the same thickness. What do you recommend me to do in this case?
hiya! are you using an Apple Pencil? And the right brush? If yes and yes, there might be a problem with your Apple Pencil. I recommend that you take it to the Apple store to get it checked out ☺️
Hi. Thank you for the freebies. I tried using my apply pencil (USB C) but couldn’t understand this different pressure technique. I tried to using pencil in all possible ways😅 could you please guide?
Hiya! Thank you so much for trying the freebies :) Unfortunately the USB-C Apple Pencil is not pressure sensitive, so you won't get the thick and thin strokes that I've shown in the video here :( Depending on the iPad you have, you will need to get the first or second gen Apple Pencil. So sorry!
Hi there. I’m new to your channel and I’m super excited to give this a try. I downloaded your practice sheets and I purchased procreate, but when I try to open them in procreate, they’re grayed out. I can’t figure how how to unzip them... Can you give me some advice please?
hiya! welcome to iPad Lettering 🤗 I’ve made another video where I’m showing how to download and unzip the practice sheets - you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/8qhYbXNCQdE/v-deo.html - let me know if this helps!
I need to get my hands onto an iPad 🤭 my husband is going to buy another one so I'll be able to use his iPad pro for lettering and drawing (exercises 😅) thanks for this tutorial!
Hiya! Haha a lot of people wonder about my accent 🙈 I grew up in Switzerland, but live in New Zealand now. The streamline setting depends on the brush - most of the time I set it very close to 100% ☺️
Thanks for the tutorial, Karin! I'm excited to start learning how to use procreate for lettering! I have a question- what size was the brush originally set on? I changed the % and I don't know where it was before! Thanks!
