As a Hmong, I am a VERY DISAPPOINTED at Dr. Shoua Yang's comments/speech. Dr. Shoua Yang, as a professor and academic individual, has hi-jacked this conflict into his "Hmong Nationality Organization" that he and others are forming and trying to get people to support. The comments are not putting out the fire but fueling the angers within our Hmong people's hearts and souls MORE. If Dr. Shoua Yang and Dr. Xoua Thao are truly our Hmong leaders, these two individuals should STAY OUT of the conflict and help PUT out the fire instead of adding OIL or encouraging people to boycott the Hmong New Year. Dr. Shoua Yang SUPPOSEDLY an expert in political science but his speech show what kind of expert he really is. All I can say is SHAME on Dr. Shoua Yang!

This is why Hmong people do not have a country. They do not know how to help and support each other. The people who aren't doing anything with their lives are just home doing nothing, drugs, gangs, commit violence bring a bad names upon the Hmong names. For those who are smart with high status are corrupted, noses up so high in their ass not wanting to help others. In order to contribute to help others there must be a price to received. This is so sad. If Hmong people cannot even help and support each other how are they expecting for other races to help and support Hmong? What a shame!!!! This is an embarrassment!!!! All this fight is for greed! Soon there shall be no more Hmong New Years, Hmong community is going break apart if they continue nonsense fights like this!!

How are they nuts? I see Dr. Shoua Yang's point. In Hmong history, it is really set for one time. Not from September to December.
I disagree with the idea of forming another organization by other groups or these 60 individuals to coordinate and celebrate the MN Hmong New Year because:
1. It will further divide the Hmong.
2. Create more competitions, animosities, and hatreds among these groups/organizations.
3. it will NOT RESOLVE the current conflict and possible lead to more confrontations, violence, and legal actions which may result the justice department (Attorney General Office) to prevent Hmong in Saint Paul from celebrating Hmong New Year - because too many problems.
Instead, the Hmong communities/organizations in MN should establish a "Hmong New Year Commission" to study and resolve the current issue then restructure the governance and involvement of the Hmong New Year in MN to hopefully have all organizations in MN join together to celebrate the New Year annually.

These two Doctors need to step out from all problem inside Community like this one because soon you lost your reputation and peoples will threat on you 2 and saying bad words to you 2. I agreed with Dr. Shoua Yang's comments because what he had said was right. However, he is a hmong. He has the right to solve the hmong conflicts that will effect the hmong community not just teaching. Teaching is only his regularly duty at his job. He is part of the hmong family. Whoever don't understand this, that person is getting lost already.....
Dr. S. Yang has a point, because he has had the right education, he sees farther , deeper and think harder. If 90% of us have the education, we can do it. Dr. Yang has a vision, but can he do it? maybe, because he is also has Hmong blood.
