Kinsman wanted to start to build from grass roots on up but he got so much push back we completed the circle when he left. He be great you need quality in players Only pulsic starts in european league in Italy he couldn’t break into Chelsea starting line up Don’t over state quality when most of USA players in Europe are subs. Thats the reality in gap of quality of player. Comparing yourselves to uraguay a team with a rich history and 15 titles they and Argentina are tied for most copas of this writing is down right comical uraguay has won two world cups four Ifcyou countries non sanctioned ones when European teams were only allowed. The irony is uraguay is only stable country in South America her neighbors Argentina and Brasil always going through drama it’s like being Sweden only in South American beautiful country Ifcyou can visit with people to match. And thier football team is thier best in concembol msybe second this year although Colombia may disagree. These are actual World Cup threats Thisxisxthe group Argentina and brasil need get through to make WC remember that 3-0 defeat to Panama a team that plays as a team just like you got killed by Columbia so don’t say you’re close to Columbia or uraguay those are two of better teams in world. You think France Croatia rather play uraguay or brasil? With brasil you get fluid football with uraguay you get physical football with few scoring chances. And they enjoy putting you on ground… hard! Repeatedly!

Re Crocker getting it wrong the first time: I bet if you gave Crocker truth serum, he would admit that his hands were tied by the Reyna fiasco. If he decided not to hire Berhalter after it became clear what a POS Claudio Reyna was, it would have been seen as validating Reyna, and that was not tenable. Berhalter was never good enough, but that was a bad situation.

Extremely messy situation. All of these guys like GGG and Berhalter and Lalas have thirty years plus history with each other, from USMNT and MLS etc.
There's a lot of water under that bridge and the dynamics for an outsider coming into a thirty year old clique must be astounding.
The Reyna/Berhalter feud was some long term antagonism that bubbled briefly into public view. And that was the only difference - we heard about it this time. The rest of the time they can keep it out the press - but the mistrust and cliques are still there even when we don't perceive them.

I just can't see the USMNT getting Klopp at all.
He would have the opportunity to manage almost any team he wanted at domestic or International level, and by that I mean with out being rude a team that could possibly win the World Cup tournament.
If you want someone who can build a team environment, create a bond between players & fans & who would be possibly be in it for the long term, then someone like Gareth Southgate is not as silly as it may sound.
He could well be a European champion by next week & will probably leave the England national team no matter what.
However would he want another job right away though ?
    Maybe not.
I'd say the best manager you should try and go for is Mauricio Pochettino as I think you would have a chance of getting him.

One very important point in Gregg Berhalter's USMNT history as Head Coach.
    - in a 2022 Friendly he beat Morocco who played Semifinal in World Cup Qatar against France.
The result in the Friendly was 3-0 and Pulisik scored a goal in the match.
The interesting thing about that result is, it caused Moroccan Fans to ask for the ouster of their Coach at the time Vahid Khalilozitch.
After firing that coach, the Moroccan Royal Federation hired a local international coach (Hoalid Regragui) who was at the time coaching Local side Wydad AC the Most Titled Moroccan Club in Soccer History.
When Hoalid Regragui took over from Vahid Khalilozitch, the Moroccan National Team quickly got out of the slump and realised some positive results against European National Teams.
Of course he went on to win 5 strait World Cup matches against National teams like Belgium 2-0, Portugal 1-0, Spain 1-0, Canada 2-1...
On the other hand the USMNT did not do that well at the same world cup.
The interesting specific point is the National Team that changed coaches after that Friendly (I think it was in Ohio) did very very very well at the World, and the side that kept coach Berhahlter only got to R16 - WHY?
The answer is not an answer but a useful thing to notice, which is:
The National Team that lost changed coaches and did very very well (W.C. Semifinal)
But the National Team (USMNT) that won the friendly and kept Gregg on as head coach did just OK.
PS- for the USMNT or Morocco, qualifying to R16 is no longer a milestone but simply a normal thing that was achieved many times before. Today the FANS of these two National Teams are more ambitious and they have the right to be.
So, changing Coaches for the USMNT in July 2024 is absolutely an OK thing, it all depends on who will replace Gregg, if it's someone very good who takes the USMNT for instance to the Quarter Finals (to match Coach Arena's Record) then all US Fans and US Media will sing praises for the USSF and Crocker sighting the fact they had the foresight to Fire a partially successful Coach (Berhalter) after he failed in Copa America.. this will be viewed as very Very Very Pasitive for the USSF
Remains to be seen who they will hire, and if the new USMNT coach will maybe surpass Arena's record or at least match it.
You will not find one US FAN who will tell you that crossing the highway of Group Stage at World Cup 2026 is a milestone or that dreaming about winning the World Cup is not a right.
Of course the USSF made the right decision based on the facts facing it, now let's get that success so if we look back in 2026 at 2024, we will remember Gregg with a Smile instead of hating him had he stayed on because the USSF did not have the foresight or courage to make a change.
The Moroccan Soccer Royal Federation made the change Months before the World Cup, and the specific reason was that Vahid Khalilozitch told Moroccan Fans that they are crazy to ask him for better results than losing to the US side 3-0 in America.
He paid the price for that stupid thought as the Moroccan National Team witht the same Moroccan Players reached the Semifinal of the World Cup that Valid Khalilozitch can't even dream about to this day. He shut his mouth after that and never spoke to the media.
I think he actually got FIRED according to Moroccan Laws. Did not get paid for the remainder of his contract. When you perform bad at your Job, contract or no contract, you should get Fired.
The USMNT is going to be better without Gregg Berhalter as he himself is not an expert in World Cups or Copa America. But he did win several lower ranking Titles with the USMNT as head coach.
    Good Luck Gregg

The U.S. defense needs to focus on stopping goals and not raising their hand for offsides. They're too sophisticated and want to follow the rules with a participation trophy for on field referring. Colombia and Uruguay aren't scared to break the law as we saw after the game. Also, why would the U.S. want to learn how to handle fights like Colombia and Uruguay when they can just blame their coach and fire him after every major tournament.

One point which helps USSF's Crocker.
    - After 2022 you needed to Reset the Team.
Very hard to remold the team whose players think they have succeeded.
    - Now, the Reset has been made.
the New coach will be able to use the 2022 success appropriately because the players have been humbled after the failure in 2024
= To me this means, the last 18 months was not a complete waste, as long a the new coach knows who to transition the players from 2024 to 2026 instead of from 2022 to 2026.
It's easier i.o.w. you'll get faster response from the players therefor better results.

A common problem I keep seeing with US soccer analysts and fans is that they are falling into the mistake that Mexicans have been falling into for years: thinking their team is actually better than it is. It sets the wrong expectations, it gaslights the players. Saying that the US team can be at the level of Colombia or Uruguay is non sense. There's decades and a long history of soccer ingrained in those nations, a history of paying dues and developing a culture and a mentality. Anything can happen in a tournament, and the US having had a good tournament at some point doesn't mean they should expect to magically be at that next level consistently. Keep taking steps forward, not making the nepo hirings, instead getting the winning mentality coaches, and the good tournament performances will become more common until they actually do reach another level. The fact is that if the US played in conmebol, they would have missed most world cups since 1994. Chile and Colombia missed it the last time and they were far better national teams. Those delusional expectations are what have kept the Mexican national team on a downward spiral, getting players burnt out, coaches getting fired so often, and on a trend to not even have the level to qualify for the 2030 world cup. Hopefully the US team doesn't follow them there.
