Any chance of interviewing a pyro tech sometime? I’d love to see that stuff!
18:25 I spy a wild Matt Horn in the background prepping Luke’s kit…
10:27 JT is there too walking by.
Love these Videos Nick! Funny to see Matt Horn setting up Luke's kit in the background at the end. I've been bingeing his videos too.
JT as well too at 10:27.
They just played my state in Australia a few days ago
These are all great, thanks Nick. The most interesting part to me is the "how did you get into this" questions. Would love to see more non-arena interviews, including house techs in high profile venues and festivals.
Thanks for the comment. Feel free to check out some of my other videos. I have many others that have exactly what you are looking for.
Nick, love the content and watched it all. Maybe you have answered this… does the monitor engineer have any input on mic choices/locations or is that all front of house? And do the signals all get equally split (as inputs) to FOH and Monitor and then each board does what they need to do with raw inputs?
10:27 JT, Matt Horn's Manager walking by. 😂
18:23 Matt Horn in the background though. you can see him vlogging as the curtains rising up.
Any idea who makes the mic switcher that is in the rack?
I was wondering the same thing, I have the Rat switcher but a rack mount one is great
but what does Clair Bros. have to do with his job search?
Mmm , do your homework and go to bed.
i thought they only made speakers. i guess they do other stuff too.
I was asking because it’s strange to me.
that’s like Caterpillar making construction equipment AND getting jobs for crane operators.
@@johnviera3884 Yes pretty much, you just answered your own question because they source the PA and gear, and they also need engineers to go along to make sure things go off without a hitch and/or nothing gets destroyed needlessly by an inexperienced tech. Those companies often have their own guys.
Would you find and interview Bill Sheppell please?
Where did you get that jacket? I need it.
It’s an Allen and heath jacket
Sure wish Ashton's advice was translated to local (my neck of the woods) sound engineers as some seem to be jerks and full of it!
FR. You'll find that most of these guys at the top level no ONLY are they good at their jobs, you HAVE to be chill and easy to get along with, because you're not only working with these people most of the time you live within a bus throughout the whole tour as well. There's NO place for ego, being a jerk, or taking things personally.
Dad
Camera man smh
He dont know how to say Parsons?
HIS singer? HIS drummer? HIS guitarist? Slow down there big chutes.
Chill. That's pretty common vernacular for an engineer working with a band for nearly a decade.
Sean is PISSED!!!
This guy is no joke and smart
If you worked with Clair Bros , you know your stuff.
My gosh only at the end of my career was I able to talk a cover band into ….no stage volume,,,
Replay!!!! My fave band!!! They helped saved my life!! Been loyal to them as a fan from the beginning before signed on the south side of Chicago. ❤️❤️🙏🙏🤘🤘
