I am a painter and musician and I'm wondering about the demqnd and desire for those services on the island. I have been working in Italy and Greece for several years, where eolle commission me for murals, portraits and original pieces for homes and businesses. As far as music, I am a singer/guitarist/pianist and have been entertaining tourists on a Greek Island for 4 years. Do you have any tips or observations you might share with me? Maybe even regarding the art and music community on Maui and where to start making connections? I TRULY apreciate your time, and I wish you and yours all the very Best!!!!!!!! Aloha Elisha! Thanks for your questions. :) There is definitely an arts community here on Maui! There are galleries in several areas of the island and a great shop that sells only locally made art called Maui Hands that has several stores throughout the island. There are also opportunities to sell art at local farmers markets & street fairs. Makawao and Haiku are great art centric communities to be part of on Maui! I hope you make it out to The Valley Isle!!
I have a plan to move to Maui in 2026/2027. Coming in 12 days did vacation the second time this year.
Hi! I heard the public transit system isn’t reliable in Maui. Is that true? If possible, I’d also like to know how likely it would be to find a studio apartment for under $2,000 per month or if I should rethink this budget. Thank you!
Aloha, Jessica, thank you so much for your video, it's very helpful. I am wondering if you can share with me the moving company you use to ship household items, please? I live on Lons Island New York currently and thinking to move, I feel so bad thinking to throw away all our household items we had over 20 years. Any help or experiences will be highly appreciated. What are the schools like on Maui? I have one keiki. Have you heard of or experienced any hate for mainlanders?
Aloha Jenny! My children have gone to several schools on Maui and we’ve never experienced any problems. The communities we have been part of have all been very caring and accepting. ☺️
