The 1J really is a great motor. I added Munro racing CT12 highflows to my VVTI 1JZ, from a non VVTI 1JZ, with all the supporting parts made from Kurt. 414rwkw and factory-like response on E85, with a Haltech 2500 running the show.
I've had Supra 4 pots for quite some time now, currently using Intima SR Pads. Decent brakes and seem to pull up well. Stock Toyota pads for the four pots left an insane amount of dust.

Factory brakes are quite good with better pads with more initial bite. Sadly you missed the more important upgrade for brake feel improvement on the chaser a braided brake line kit all round.
Quick fact of the day, bigger or better brakes don’t actually improve how quickly the car stops, only tyres do. It only helps with dissipating heat which can keep them effective for longer. If you want to know which one is the issue, try locking up your brakes, if it doesn’t you have a brake system issue. If you can lock up you need stickier tyres.

Braided brake lines will stop the spongy feeling you get from rubber lines as the fluid heats up and expands. Also heads up on those brake pads, they'll grind down the rotors way faster than regular pads.

Next time you change the discs go slotted only with better pads and you'll be good brother. Gives you time to save up for it, fronts first then worry about the back 🤌🏼 looking good man, just the little bits and pieces to go until she's perfect 💪🏽

mate you forgot that not only are your tyres a limiting factor but you need to get braided brake lines too if you want wayyyy better brake pedal feel too
I have the same power in my S14 SR20 on pump 98, its a good power level.
Feels, 390kw barra here and it's just nuts how much power it is.. really too much for a daily haha
