I wish he was still here...... would love to have seen his swing age!!! STILL remember the day. My mom who doesn't play golf stopped me as I walked into the house while his jet was still in the air.😢 I was glued to the TV news channel. rest easy my Man.
Yeah that’s false…. It changed very much from start to finish. His tempo on his follow through was 130-170mph club speed…. His backswing was much slower.
@@daviddicara991 perfect tempo, but to say it never changes is completely false. The swing is much faster than his backswing, which means tempo changes very much. Not an opinion.
Yes man Me also and I had just started playing and watching because of tiger but for some reason Payne caught my attention and Cory pavin for some reason
His plane went down as I was getting ready for grandmother’s funeral. I remember waiting for my then girlfriend now wife to be ready as I watched that news cast. Such a great swing, funny man and great friend to many on tour
I truly miss this guy. I always felt like I could learn something from watching him. Just a textbook swing hones to absolute perfection. Smooth, fluid, zero tension or hurry. Zen like.
I remember exactly where I was when I found out he'd passed on. I had just begun my golf journey as a kid, and he was my favorite. I wish I could have seen him continue to play, he had so much respect for the game.
One of the most beautiful golf swings of all time. Perfect tempo, very fluid, excellent technique, but not mechanical. A natural looking swing with sound fundamentals.
People talk about locking your forearm or firing your hands at the ball or turning your wrists or whatever trying to hit a golf shot. Here it's the absolute perfect swing: turn your body and let your arms go wherever they feel like going. All you add is just pushing forward from your back leg. After that it's just see ball, hit ball.
I’m gonna watch this before every round and have my mind watch perfect unhurried tempo while still absolutely annihilating the golf ball. My goodness. RIP Payne, say hi to The Lord for me
@Seth, Yes, perfect tempo that begins with that slow deliberate back swing. Also notice the left hip how it clears out of the way on the downswing. I really liked your comment about Payne saying hello to our Loving Father in Heaven. I think you would be a good friend to have. Blessed Day. 🙏🇺🇸
@@frankkinley6272 Frank, thanks so much. You’ve made my day! I admire Payne’s Faith more than his swing. Great commentary on deliberate slow backswing and the hip clear where he gets the power! God bless Frank and thanks again 🙏
Fun fact, in the late 90s into early 2000s when golf video games were transitioning from recorded animation to 3D animations, most of the swings on games like PGA Championship Golf, Links 2001, and others used his swing as the basis for the game.
As I understand the golf swing better and better, I realize more and more why Stewart's swing served him so well. Oh yeah, and the aesthetics are off the charts.
The sound of a persimmon club is incredible!
🎯
The feeling in your hands at impact is even better.
Hard to believe he changed to metal in 96ish. Big bertha came out 91
Was just going to say this. Love that sound.
Definite crack sound.
I think a lot of us miss this guy
A gentleman, an athlete, an ambassador of the game, a mentor - wish we'd seen him play more.

His tempo never changes.
“One thousand one”.
From start to finish.
Every swing.
Every time.

Such a great golfer 🏌️♀️. RIP
There's a sound you will never hear again. Persimmon striking a wound balata Titleist...bone chilling !
Nah, I just got get my old Macgregor driver and hunt in the old shag ball bag.
You got that right big daddy….
Gosh I miss watching these old school swings like this. 👌
Could watch his swing ALL DAY.. Payne was my favorite golfer pre-Tiger.

And for me my favorite forever 😢

My favorite childhood golfer. RIP Payne
Me also. What a heart
he and freddie have best repeating swings ever......lov 'em both
Amazing sound. He hit the middle of the club for sure
Payne was outstanding!! Was my favorite before Tiger. Miss Payne RIP. ❤🙏
Became a great competitor by listening to his wife. Always undeniably talented and a man of good will.
Arguably the greatest golf swing ever.
I would argue with you
Fred being 2nd 😊
Such a tragic loss. Payne was such a fascinating guy.
I remember him at Gleneagles, lost to Jasper Parnevik. Gracious in defeat 🙏
Perfect swing. Best of the best.
I truly miss this guy. I always felt like I could learn something from watching him. Just a textbook swing hones to absolute perfection. Smooth, fluid, zero tension or hurry. Zen like.
Just looks so smooth and effortless! Great swing!
I would love a new age golfer to dress and swing like this. it would absolutely blow the sport up! We miss you Payne.
I used to love watching him hit that ball. He did it with style. He looked like a golfer and had a decent haircut.
I think Knapp is close, just with a slower tempo
Ludvig Aberg would be perfect. Just grow those locks.
I can’t take those capris or whatever they are seriously lol.
I remember exactly where I was when I found out he'd passed on. I had just begun my golf journey as a kid, and he was my favorite. I wish I could have seen him continue to play, he had so much respect for the game.
I was at work and heard it on the radio. I couldn't talk to anyone because they would have thought: wtf is he talking about
Yep I was on my home course walked in the halfway house after 9 and it was on the tv his airplane not responsive. I was 21 or so.
We're all missing that smooth fluid swing. It would have been a pleasure to see him play more years.
Every shot sounds so great. His swing is every golfers dream.
just copy his feet, back and through
I miss that guy.... He had the best swing I've ever seen, and the best attitude of anyone.. God bless Payne Stewart...
Absolutely miss seeing Payne. Legend
Undoubtably the best swing of all time, him and Freddy couples. The smoothest ever
Uh, Sam Snead?
I met him in 1993 at Gleneagles for the Scottish Open….an absolute gentleman and by god he could hit a ball! RIP Payne ☹️
He had the best swing in the game It's such a shame that he is gone
Poetry in motion. So sad that he’s gone.
🤢 overused comment.

Heartbreaking loss. A great player but more importantly, a great human being. Class personified.

I like this better than modern ones. What a nice shot ! Thatll be mine.

Miss watching him play
One of the classics gentlemen to play the game.
What a beautiful swing. He makes it like easy.
When golf was a game of great skill....
Love these videos
that first swing is sooooo pure!
Just a stunning swing. Definitely would have won more majors.
Wish he was still around. Amazing swing, good man.
Saddest day in Golf when he left us.
Stewart and Fred Couples had the best tempo in my opinion. Effortless and powerful.
One of my all time favorites!
Awesome. That first one sounded like a shotgun.
Smoothest ever. Great guy. Cut down WAY too soon. Godspeed Payne.
The pink what 😮
The putts he made on the back nine of the last US Open he made to keep his round and victory going were incredible! He was a lot of fun to watch.
A great golfer and an even better human being.
What a beautiful golf swing

Golf lost a good man that one fateful day. Remembering watching him as a kid. Smooth as silk Payne. Hope we get to play 18 on the other side.
Club twirl master.

He's actually a classic 😊❤ one of golf's rare Human more so the jack, Arnold and Ben! Unique Style!

I love the compact, athletic swing.
Got that Mike Austin flow.
That first shot sounded like a mini rocket taking off. Amazing.
Beautiful move! Just makes me sad that his last clip was 1999. Payne was great for the game and we lost one of the good ones to soon 😔
He was an awesome player. I walked with him at the Air Canada Championship a couple days before he passed.
The guy had a great swing!
Smooth swinger….smooth dresser. A great character that the golfing world misses.
That first one, phew. Beautiful.
Payne Stewart’s passing is an interesting documentary. It’s worth a watch.
Miss watching this guy swing a club
Awesome swing, rip Payne
Saw him live many times at The Open, class act.
Love the sound. Like the crack of a major league bat Vs. College,"dink"'of the bat. Imagine what he could do with today's technology.
I miss the 90s reverse c swing. Monty had the best finish I have ever seen in golf
Miss you so much Payne.
RIP TO A LEGEND
That swing is dope
Great tempo
Pure class
When woods were made out of wood. Dude made pink knickers look rad.
This. Is how you swing a club. Pure swinging motion.
I don’t know about his swing but his drip is out of this world.
Touch of class Baby, touch of class!

He definitely would have won more majors, his swing would have been Great for a long time.
One of my favorite golfers all time. Like Payne I too have a thing for classic golf attire. I Just can't do the Knickers and quarter Lengths.
God bless him and his family.
So smooth so compact so consistent... When he won the US Open defeating Phil Mickelson in the final pairing I became a fan.
Still remember you buddy….rip
I had forgotten how beautiful his swing was. What loss to golf.
Those outfits 😂 need to pick some up for next season.
Taken way to soon. Seeing him now after being gone for 25 years, he reminds me of a young Bruce Willis only with a classic golf swing.
