It's possible that by choosing to take the cybertent for self installed. You may have inadvertently bypassed the Aeroflap retrofit kit that some have mentioned their service center installed. You should reach out to Tesla service to see if that is the case.

Great job !!! I am a truck cap camper and a cyber truck camper wannabe. I am also a Do it Yourself kind of guy. The information you have given is telling me that this tent isn’t for me. Although it is very nice , at this price point I would expect the potential for bad results to be less.
I am looking forward to other set up you’re going to try and other DIY camping solutions you may come up with.
For now I’m keeping my money invested in Tesla stock. With a little patience, I expect the stock prices to go up and the camping solutions to evolve.

For fabric hydrophobics (whatever the fabric is, so not only for tents), you can always apply 303's Fabric Guard which also help for UV degradation if I remember correctly.

My biggest disappointment of CT was how you can't sleep temp controlled in the bed. If that was the case you could just toss a mattress in and that would be it.

It's too bad that Tesla made the rear window in the bed fixed instead of having it roll down. You could have had air or heat from the cab directed into the tent.

Agreed. Before the CT went into production, I sent TESLA my wish to have a Mid-Gate for the rear window. I have an 2007 Chevy Avalanche with a mid-gate whereas the rear window/divider unit can be folded down. With it down I can out 4x8 plywood easily or place my 14 and 17 foot kayaks inside the bed with the tailgate down. Now granted, the 17 foot kayaks will protrude 5 feet past the downed tailgate.

I have a battery powered SUP inflator that will go up to 15psi. It has a fast inflation mode. Then switches out to a slower but high pressure mode as the targeted pressure is reached.
Tesla should have included it as part of the Tent package imho. Even one that can plug into the truck might be a cheaper alternative to a battery powered one like the one I have. I think I only spent $60 on mine.

You might want to check out Flextail air pumps. They have two models that I have used. A smaller one [3600 mAh] and a larger one [4800 mAh] with a light built in that can hang in the tent and might have enough power to inflate and deflate. They can also serve as a power bank for a phone. They have added some new models too! With Prime day you should be able to get the small one for around $25? I use these to inflate River Runner float tubes. The small one can do about three single tubes with pillows before it needs a recharge. Keep the big one in a water proof bag for emergency inflations when on a river for slow leaking floats. Not really for doing tires but you would still want to be attentive filling the tent with too much pressure. Not sure how much pressure they create. Not high pressure, it will not inflate a car or bike tire [they do have a small bike tire inflator for up to 100 psi]. I think I see a gauge on the bi-directional hand pump included. Would like to know what the range the pump has; can it fill bike tires? Used to sell bi-directional pumps back in the 80's for bicycles for about $40 retail.

I have a pop up tent [8' x 8' x 5'], paid $50 on sale at Big 5. It sets up in 90 seconds with rain fly and packs in 4-5 minutes. Takes up about 1' x 4' space packed and use a bungee to hold it tight rather than the carrier it came in. Use a green tarp from Harbor Freight as ground cover, have a Queen size inflatable mattress and room for a cooler plus a suitcase of clothes [plus small space at the door to leave shoes]. Never bothered to stake it. My biggest problem is the time, effort and obvious anxiety of dropping a screw would have on me every time I set there tent up and down that I might not go on a trip because of it... certainly not a kiss solution. Thanks for this review and looking forward to the other items, maybe even a Polydrop some day?

For the inverter to work at the amperage it can deliver it will take much energy. A better method would be to charge the portable batteries from the truck when they are low which would give your all the power while the truck is in sleep mode. For AC you can by 12v unit for around $300 which will cool the tent and run off the portable batteries. Tfhe TLDR is that when the truck inverter is running you have to make good use of it to charge portable batteries since it is optimize for high amperage devices like a spot welder.

You have a new vulnerability, now that you defeated the loctite these two bolts can vibrate out and get lost in the Tonneau Cover mechanism from driving the CyberTruck. You need tethers on the bolts to prevent them from falling in. Use intooth washers, and fender washers, drill a hole in the edge of the fender washer and use a double side sticky tape anchor, Zip tie to the anchors after looping through the drill hole on the Fender washer, push the fender washer on first, then the intooth washer to trap the fender washer on the bolt.

I value running the a/c or heat for car camping. Seems sleeping in the back of a MY would be more comfortable and convenient. Also Ithink a cheap tent in the bed with a tarp secured over it would work as well. Such a large truck and so little usable cabin space. 2:30 this is wrong. That's the old design, the new tent design has simple quick release tabs that you can just retrofit.
When people who don't camp review camping equipment 🤣 it you want a climate controlled space with a bed dude, get a hotel room or a camper. This is a TENT for CAMPING outside.... Basically, this dude doesn't like camping and doesn't know anything about camping equipment, sleep systems, etc haha

I’ve wanted an electric car for a few years now. Recently, though, someone said the EMF readings on the electric cars are horrible and as the driver, you’re just sitting on the battery getting exposed at close range for hours.
I need a counter argument for the next time this topic comes up. Thank you!

Who is that extremely attractive lady at your campsite?
Mount Washington, New Hampshire, is only 6,288 feet high. That should be a challenge for water bottles and the like but is pretty minor compared to mountains in the west.

"Harbor Freight"? There's no need for that kind of language.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a real EV truck with a hard cap or something and a sliding rear window?

terrible design. first tesla product that I thought was absolutely silly with exception of cyberhammer. that was still silly but slightly less silly than a $ 3000 useless tent.

If the world's richest individual can sleep on the factory floor, I guess we can all sacrifice ourselves and sleep in a rolling toaster oven.

If you're not an engineer or mechanic then go ahead and get any other tent!
