27:11 Just did the six husbands a couple days ago and camped at this site. Must say it was the toughest trail I’ve ever done. Would never choose to do it in the rain, or descend down it. Bear danger is real in these parts, too!
Looking at my 1969 AMC White Mtn Guide I see I traced your steps on 10/07/1971 after staying the previous night at a leanto which must have been near your campsite at the time. I was 28 and carrying just a daypack and still remember the workout. A snow squall hit me as I cleared the treeline, raged at the Jefferson summit and then cleared with beautiful late day sunlight on Fall colors for the descent, I guess down the Jefferson Loop. what a memory.
Great video... I hiked up to Carter Notch and stayed over night in their very nice Cabin. That was 5 years ago and 40lbs lighter Thanks for taking me along. I'm 74 yrsold now.
One of your best! You know how much I love the Whites -- in any season. You made two extremely hard trails way harder by treating us to all the great camera work, backtracking and one-handed scrambling. Thank you! And you made the right choice: The Spur is endless...
Hey Sintax I generally do not watch long videos, however, I watched this one an throughly enjoyed it. The hour and 13 minutes flew by. Hope you are having a great weekend.
Having watched your videos and some others your trails over there they look to be well maintained and marked but still pretty wild. Our routes are rarely sign posted but hey your country could fit mines into its shirt pocket. love the videos all the best from Scotland.
That was a great adventure, a little bit of everything in terms of terrain, landscapes, weather, trail conditions, and trail difficulty. Awesome backpack, and documented so well!
Amazing video. I must admit I was a bit frightened for you on all of those rocks, The good thing about your filming and having all of us along is that when you are hiking solo, you are never alone, so someone would get you help if you needed it. I'm at my cabin in the Smokies now. I'm not hiking; I'm getting ready for a long soak in the hot tub. Thanks for taking me along on the hike. I've never been to New Hampshire.
Duh! I just came to me , while I was soaking in the hot tub, that your videos aren't live. You did this hike nearly a month before it was posted . Of course you had to edit it and pretty it up for us, so you are alone, but I know you have your messenger and you do keep in contact with your lovely Sarah , and I know you take every precaution and are very careful. Still, those rocks did look dangerous! Glad you made it back safely, Your video is the only way I would ever see that trail, so thank you for that.
@17:30 should say eventually it connects to Sphincter trail lol. Kudos for shooting footage while scrambling around. Some of your finest work. I must confess, I kept anticipating some plane wreckage.
This video is really cool. I've been wanting to hike the Six Husbands for the past six years after hiking Washington going up the Ammonoosuc Trail and down the Jewel Trail. I took a great picture of Jefferson and Adams while heading down toward the Jewel Trail from the Washington summit. Great work!
What an incredible video! I haven't been to the Whites in years, I'm motivated to lose weight and hit them again while I'm still able. Thanks for your quality consistent video content. A lot of channels change their personality or content struggling to make ratings. You just keep doing what we love to watch and be involved with.
In my neck of the woods…good trip. I blew out both of my knees coming back down Mt Washington just above tuckermans ravine a few years ago. So I don’t get out much anymore. Thank you for sharing the videos.
I like how you showed what it's like when you cross water and can't see the trail on the other side at first...I hate when that happens and it was good to show how you have to kinda skirt the edge until you find it (and not panic)! 👍 Great video! New subscriber.
Honestly, one of my favorites so far - and I'm a pretty big fan of your typical content 😂 Sara is a total champ, I could take a lesson in patience but what else are you gonna do in that situation. After the tent debacle, I about died when the beans weren't pop-top. And the hotdog avalanche line of censored profanity. Shit is gonna go wrong sometimes, it's best to live and learn, and it's refreshing to have honest content. Sweet pants too!
Outstanding! Trekked 6 Husbands a couple years back myself, Nothing like cresting to Jefferson;s knee after that amazing climb. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Next time you are hiking in the South, I suggest the Cohutta Wilderness area In Georgia. Start on Tear Britches Trail and plan your route to visit Jacks River Falls. It is the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi.
I was there last year, i was backpacking as well! I understand what you're going through, some of those squeezes are tough to get past with a big pack... Plus some of the climbing there is super sketchy! That trail doesnt mess around at all
Excellent vid. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to filming it. Would have been exhausting to set up and keep going back to collect the camera with all those rocks, bugs and heat.
Wilderness Area is my favorite to hike! Best type of place to really get out into nature with whatever you can carry on your back. Great video, thanks sintax!
Sorry for the delayed comment watched your “hike” before we went on our backpacking trip. That was plain crazy to be there alone. Have hiked all over NH never heard of this trail. Rivals southern Maine on the AT. So glad you were safe
Wow! Great video man. Thank you for sharing your adventure, thoughts and for putting this together. I just found your channel here and I will be back to watch more. Your hard work is much appreciated!
Ah,a nice Sintax77 hit to help your day! I have done this trail with a Jump Off from Pinkham Notch a dozen times, and once slept in my hammock right past the Harvard Cabin almost on top of where you did that Mt Wash attempt. That also was a great video..
Such beautiful terrain. So happy you "take us along" on your adventures. Thank you so much. I am getting to see places in your vlog I will never get to see in reality.
Just recently started watching your videos and immediately became hooked with the whole hiking experience. Never thought i would see myself getting into it but it has me intrigued with all the gear and trails. Myself and a buddy just did our first 2 night 3 day hike at Dolly Sods! Thanks !
Hi Shawn. Great to see you back in the White's 👊 thank you for the views, and as always the awesome content, that trail was brutal, never been on six husband's 😳stay safe, be well, and come back soon my friend 👊👍✌
I have not watched this yet. Must wait until I have time to enjoy it. Also, six husbands was my favorite hike. Just scary enough to be wicked good fun.
And a little "Why, when I was your age" moment.... I did that hike in the early 90s well before the Bill Bryson book. In those days I was considered a weirdo because I was a female solo hiker. (Born too soon!) You hardly saw a soul in the presidentials, and the Appalachia parking lot was mostly empty ...even on weekends.
So awesome!!! I always look forward to your vids. Even though I could never do the trails you do I'm reminded why we hike and pass the torch on. I have never seen the views quite like this one. It reminds me why so many past packed in paint for master pieces to record the beauty of what they'd seen. Thanks again!
Wow. Great video.. That trail has really deteriorated in the last 30 years. But the restricted use areas were brand-new back then. (And of course, I did it with two hands and a tiny Daypack, though I was still torn and bloody at the end of it.) Thanks for the shout out, and once again, thanks so much for bringing us along.
@@sintax77 no, thank YOU. After watching that video, I don't miss the presidentials nearly so much. (And then you had to drive all that way....) I wanted to buy you a hot toddy
Thankyou for sharing a great adventure. I needed this just to escape my mind and Hoping I can get out and do something like this one day soon. Thankyou for sharing!
Until I saw the ad, I thought the ecoflow was a more environmentally benign prostate medication - an issue I had not heard of. Thankfully it is a new battery thingy. I like all manner of battery gadgets. I will be interested to hear more about duty cycle numbers and environmental tolerances.

Thanks, Jennie! Glad you enjoyed it.
@@sintax77 Ever thought of camping in Salt fork state park and seeing if you can encounter the Ohio Grassman?
I love that you did this to honour a senior hiker . Well done!

Hiking down Dry River trail in the dark was impressive.

I was thinking to myself I haven't seen a new video in a while. Haha and here you are. Fantastic show!
Woohoo!!! New Sintax77 vid, it's a good day 👍 Greetings from Australia 😀
AGREED BROTHER
I must have watched this video 10 times... love it
Just amazing how you find your way through that mess and not get lost.
Sheesh, Shawn, I have to say a BIG THANKS for the videography you did on top of climbing that trail. Texas

I did that trail before. The ladder section is so awesome.
