And as experiences go, it was certainly chock full of valuable lessons for the partaking. I'm betting from this point on, you'll always have some way to open a can, the mystery stuff sack mix-up will never be repeated, and I'd bet all your future hotdog grills are nice and level. The best part had to be the 'adding insult to injury', hotdog fiasco. By the end, I was cracking up. 🤣👍👍

What a treat to see this trail on video. Way to keep it light. I’ve hiked this a bunch-alone, with my boys and a couple of buddies. One January had to cowboy camp in the same place bc of tent issues. George Washington National Forest is really neat.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing real life. I have a wife who is not a camping fan. I got her to go on a trip and forgot the food for our main meal. Not a great night for me...Sara is a trooper! Shawn this was the best video ever! Love the beep, beep, beep as the dogs rolled off the grill. I have chipped a tooth by biting down on a dog that has hit the fire and had some small gravel in it. Ohh. I laughed a good 10 minutes over that part.
Hahaha, love the sausage avalanche! And the constant beeping out of curse words. Just awesome comedy of errors. Thanks for leaving that in the video. Made my day

This is the way camping goes when my wife goes! Glad to see that it happens to the best of us! I hope she wasn't really mad, This is how memories are made.
Love watching the hikes with your wife and dog ! Yes, those hot dogs had to roll off into the leaves , and Sarah wasn’t judging you for leaving the tent. Denali was happy being rewarded with his hot dogs ! All ended perfect . Now you have a story to tell about the time you went camping without a tent in the rain ! That tarp is fantastic . The bugs probably enjoyed your providing shelter and body warmth .
How to open a can without a can opener (without the arterial bleeding): Rub the sealed end flat on the pavement until you wear away enough of the metal to break the seal and bend the top back. Yes, I've tried it. Yes, it works. Well. It looks like there are plenty of flat-ish boulders there to do this with.
You and Frozen from @Outdoor_Adventures did loops in the same vicinity this month. You guys should get together on a West Virginia hike. Dude you reached my level of bungling a hike. I didn't think anyone else could take a can that wasn't pop top. The hot dog cascade was hilarious. Not having beans is worse than sleeping under a tarp.

This was the best video I think I've watched in a long 😂 time. You two are adorable and are truly in love🥰. Most couples I know would be arguing by the time they got to the camping spot, let alone, the forgetting of the tent EEK! They would have probably lost it, lol but, not you two. Thanks for the great video, keep smiling !
I was excited to wake up too early, turn on the old Roku TV, go to You tube, and find a new Sintax77 video. As someone else has said, you won't ever make the same mistakes again. We've all been there, forgetting something we wanted or needed for a trip, and that is usually the thing we never forget again. We may forget something else, but not the same thing we had forgotten before. You and your wife and dog still had a good time out in the woods together, and that is one of the main benefits of your expeditions. Thanks for the honest, video, to which we can all relate. You made the best of it and still had a good time. I enjoyed seeing the little additions to your first aid kit; those are things that can really come in handy if they are ever needed, and thanks for the shout out. I'm sure you will enjoy those breakfast tacos on another trip in a relaxed setting when there is more time for breakfast. Keep hiking, and providing us with adventures to enjoy vicariously!
What a treat to see a video pop up. And with your wife and Denali, Yea!! Oops as far as the title and intro. This is going to be so much fun. Sorry you had a spill but happy to see you back on the trail. Thanks for sharing all the gear and location particulars regarding this trip. See you on the next one. Stay safe.
Great video, I love when you go out as a couple. I appreciate your consistent, honest, and comprehensive trip exposure and guidance. I like the pants, but for those of us not living on Keto, RevolutionRace should make some realistic sizes for those of us backpackers and adventurers that that appreciate carbs more :)
You should be carrying a P-38 or P-51 military style can openers, very lightweight and it takes many years for them to wear out! A little dirt never hurt! Thanks for showing that anything can happen to anyone, even if you think you are prepared!!!
Sara is hilarious.... she must be your sanity in all your Murphy's Law disasters.... even Denali didn't look impressed lmfao .... maybe this is where Dutch got the new product name Dirtbag Den.....
Sintax next time if you take the can and rub it against a flat rock or concrete the friction will quickly wear through the seam and allow you to easily remove the lid and open the can. If you see moisture on the rock or grinding surface you know your through the seam. It works like magic. Try it outside with a tuna can.
Ha! Reminds me of the time we reached camp almost 30 years ago and it became clear I had forgotten the tent body for mom, young son, pupper, and myself. People back then thought we were crazy to overnight under a blue poly 9x12 tarp. But we slept "fine" and cozy, even in a light overnight rain. This is how we make memories!
This was a great video to watch! You two handled yourselves quite well in this type of scenario of mistakes and you were able to the make the best of the situation.
I thoroughly enjoyed your videos out of all the UA-cam videos I’ve seen I think yours is the best I hope you keep making them you do a really good job thank you
I just watched the dogs roll off the grill and had to post a comment before I watch the rest. There are days you just never should get out of bed. This is one of them. Thanks for having the balls to post this. You're a good man even if your lovely wife is going to dump you. LOL
Great Vid ! I'm debating between the dutchwear gear nettless hammock, and the netted Bugnet. Option 1, netless... and go with a summer/ winter sock. Option 2 zipper Bugnet option. Thoughts, Opinion, Knowledge ? Thank you !
Hello from Oklahoma! A great video showing why U should double check your gear BEFORE U leave the house. I never leave without my trusty leatherman. Wow! Funny stuff!
That was a bottle cap remover that was used for removing the cap off 6 oz glass bottles of coke.....that you were trying to use as a can opener. Flathead Screwdriver & bottle cap remover combination on that blade same as my old Boy Scout Knife of 80 years ago. There is another blade for can openers at least there is one on almost every multi-tool I've ever seen. Hey a lil dirt with food, same as when I was a Boy Scout, helps keep the immune system healthy. I'll laugh every time I remember watching those hotdogs roll off the grate, repeatedly, for the next several months.
Another trick, if you really have nothing to open it with, is to use a flat rock as a sandpaper and wear off the upper edge. A bit of work and some mess, but it did do the trick for us once. I'm sure the spiders were only being courteous. Bringing grill foods without something to light a fire with is worse.
Great video. Suggestions: 1. A Victorinox Tinker pocketknife is lightweight, cheap, and has ALL the tools you need (say, can opener). 2. Learn how to make a tent (LOTS of designs capable of holding two people and a dog) using a ten by ten tarp (which it looks like you have). All that's needed is some carved stakes, some line and maybe a pole collected on site. 3. KEEP that young lady! She's a trooper and has a great sense of humor. A lady like that is a jewel. Have fun and keep at it!
Possibly your finest video yet... love great north mtn, strickler knob has a great campsite I had a similar overnight experience with the wife and dog.... cheers from the SoDel coast.
Hilarious. And informative as always. Would have enjoyed a review on those hiking pants but maybe you have another video on them somewhere. Add a P-38 can opener to your kit and get rid of that ridiculous gadget you almost cut yourself using on the Bean can. Hot dog solution. Turn them in the direction parallel to the grate?? Ha. All in all, great job as always. Thanks for taking the time to video real life situation‘s. I know it’s a lot of work when you add camera footage on top of everything but thanks for allowing us to be a part of your trips!

I’ve watched you guys off and on, and I was like this guy is so prepared. This is one of your best vid! You show what it’s like for real camping ⛺️ love the hotdog avalanche! Sarah you are a good woman for keeping your cool 😎 wish I could say the same for me LOL 😆
What a great vlog! You three are the perfect antidote for relieving anxiety in this world right now. Keep it up! Been missing your adventures lately! Sara is the perfect compliment to these outings! The dog runaways were hilarious my ribs still hurting from laughing so hard. You guys take care and thank you for sharing!
Good morning Sarah, Sean & Denali ! She is such a trooper, you're a fortunate man ! That gives a new meaning to a Hot-Dog Race.. I was waiting to see if that new style of can had magic jumping beans.. Just place the buns and the end of your rack & see which one lands first... It's a new camping game, Chili-Dog Frenzy !
Hi Shawn 👋 good to see you my friend👍Thank you, take care. stay safe 👊 oops...🤷♂️😊 Hi Sarah, Denali 🐾👋 from NH
Dennis B.
Stay safe.
Best video ever! How hard did you hit your head last week 😂🤣
I am cracking up!!! Watching this early in the morning …..I am probably going to be late for work!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
So relatable. I hike with my wife all the time and we’ve had our moments. Your wife handled it like a rock star.
In those situations all you can do is have a good laugh 😂
You should be carrying a P-38 or P-51 military style can openers, very lightweight and it takes many years for them to wear out! A little dirt never hurt! Thanks for showing that anything can happen to anyone, even if you think you are prepared!!!
Awesome vid you guys. Sorry you guys for got the Tent, but it looks like you guys stuck with it and made it happen. Inspirational!!
Sara is hilarious.... she must be your sanity in all your Murphy's Law disasters.... even Denali didn't look impressed lmfao .... maybe this is where Dutch got the new product name Dirtbag Den.....
I just died laughing at the rolling hot dog debacle 😂 I’m loving this video so far lol
Love you guys for being so real. Thanks for the laughs.
This was a great video to watch! You two handled yourselves quite well in this type of scenario of mistakes and you were able to the make the best of the situation.
I thoroughly enjoyed your videos out of all the UA-cam videos I’ve seen I think yours is the best I hope you keep making them you do a really good job thank you
What a great camping video 😁 Everything can go wrong but it’s always ok at the end of the day
I just watched the dogs roll off the grill and had to post a comment before I watch the rest. There are days you just never should get out of bed. This is one of them. Thanks for having the balls to post this. You're a good man even if your lovely wife is going to dump you. LOL
In the beginning your puppy was hilarious lol "hurry UP! LET'S GO"
Thank you thank you guys, that’s the first belly laugh I’ve had in ages. Tent, beans, hotdogs and waterfalls - what could go wrong?. 😂
Wow, what a trip! You have a nice family, glad it all worked out and you had a chance to enjoy a cheeseburger! 😂
Sara is gonna give you a matching black eye if you don't get that coffee rolling. the one two punch. You guys are adorbs.
I was laughing the entire time. But somehow he got it open!
Hopefully he adds a basic Swiss Army knife to his gear! I always have a cadet in my bag.
@@earnhar768 Gotta give credit where credit is due......they kept their sense of humor & shared their "adventure" with you & MEeee.
@@ojisanhoward8940 TWO heads to inventory stuff B4 the hike is ONE head. ONE head is NONE, obviously!
watching and hiking with you on line is my winter pass time. All good especially the ones with spicy Sarah along.
The hot dog debacle! I laughed so hard at that. You two are awesome. We need a couples camping trip with your friends! Thanks for the entertainment!
That ditchwear tarp has to be the mvp of your kit. It’s come in handy a few times now.
Great recovery setup man.
Absolutely halirous, best vid yet. Two thoubs up👍👍
You guys put out some of the most entertaining videos out there. This was a funny one 👍
The hot dog avalanche had me howling! I don't wish you guys any bad luck, but I needed the laughs.
