    Great tutorial. Followed it with the phone in front of me, step by step. About 2.5 hrs taking my time and rewatching steps. Enjoyed not paying the dealer for this one.

    Thank you so much! I've been asked to do this on my girlfriend's car for the last 2 weeks, this was the best tutorial I've seen, I was really hoping to find someone listing the tools required so I was prepared before we started taking things apart. Well done! Much appreciated.

    I was getting an estimate ready and watched your video to see what needed to be removed. Thank you for the video. I wanted to mention, though, that ProDemand says all that stuff doesn't have to come out if you'd remove the upper rad hose. Just a tip. Appreciate the vid bro

    I have a question you should be able to answer. Does your installed fan kicks on and off when needed while the engine is running? I see some products online and read reviews, some people share that with the aftermarket replacement, the fans are always on, and go off only when you turn off the engine. The original one kicks in only when there is no air movement and antifreeze temp is over some limit, like while idling or stopping on an intersection light...

    Great video. Hopefully I’ll get the guts to try this myself. One question I do have. Rock Auto has the fan with and without the module. Any reason why you didn’t purchase the one without the module and just reused the factory one? Thanks again!

    • @TDLDIY
      @TDLDIY  Рік тому +1

      Yes, i did hear aftet the connector are little be different for the fan to the module. This way its all together and i didnt have to repurchased it after.
      I hope this helps!

    There's a brown wiring harness that goes to a limit switch above the radiator fan I can't figure out where it goes it must came off while replacing does anyone know what it is??

    Follow up, both fans were bad in our car. They both wiggle tremendously, surprisingly, the primary fan was worse.

    • @TDLDIY
      @TDLDIY  Рік тому +1

      Sounds like it was a good idea to replace the fans. How did you find the process? did you find the replace fairly easy and would you recommend to someone that is thinking about doing vs taking it to a dealer?

    • @SAABguyMD
      @SAABguyMD Рік тому +1

      @@TDLDIY The instructions were terrific! The only problem I had was I couldn't get to the bottom screw on the new fan module, the replacement unit had skinny little metal Phillips screws. I ended up using some silicone RTV on the bottom and just made sure the top was very tight and added some silicone there too. It's all about being patient and making sure you know where things get hung up on the fan assembly when you're removing or reinstalling. I would definitely recommend this to anyone considering it, especially for the cost savings! Start to finish 3 hours included a break at halftime. Important! Make sure to have all the right tools. I went and bought the two tools that I did not have that you recommended, the ratchet wrench and I picked up an inexpensive electric impact wrench, it made The job go much more smoothly

    Would removing the rad hose have made the removal a lot easier? It looks like the control module could even remain attached if the hose were removed.

    • @TDLDIY
      @TDLDIY  Рік тому

      I am sure it would've been easier. I was trying to make it fairly easy for most that might try it without removing unnecessary stuff. Its very much do able this way. Thanks for your comment you idea will give others another option on how to do it.

      @@TDLDIY Rad hose removal not needed. I just finished my own fan replacement and I don't think removing the rad hose would make much difference. There is a bunch of other stuff that is obstructing just as badly as that hose.

    Can you just replace the module or do you have to change the whole fan??

    • @TDLDIY
      @TDLDIY  Рік тому

      You can possible change the module but it may have different plug connecting the module to the fan, the module to the vehicle will be factory plugs.
      Plus all depends what your issue is. In thw case if my video i was cheaper and easier to replace the whole fan with module then just get a fan and hoping the module will connect to it. which i have hear issues saying the factory module wouldnt connect to the aftermarket fan i purchased.

    Did this cause your vehicle to overheat?

    • @TDLDIY
      @TDLDIY  Рік тому +1

      No, my vehicle didnt over heat but if i had left it possible could've. Now in my case it was the fan that was linked up with the A/C typically when i turned my ac on i would get noise due to a worn out bearing in the fan. Unfortunately i couldnt just replace that one fan but the whole assembly.

  • @joeydelmarsjr.646
    @joeydelmarsjr.646 8 місяців тому

    what i wanna know is why does the fans kick on when the heater is on and nothing else, its not on auto or defrost ?

    • @TDLDIY
      @TDLDIY  6 місяців тому

      I am not sure what you mean? These fans are for the air conditioning condenser coil and coolant radiator. Anything for the air in the vehicle will be an issue from the blower motor which is located under and behind the glove box.

    • @joeydelmarsjr.646
      @joeydelmarsjr.646 6 місяців тому

      @@TDLDIY well if you gone thru the Nissan forum you will run into alot of posts that describes both rad and condenser fans kicking on when calling for heat only. you can hear the fans kick on when you select heat. seems to be some odd way Nissan programmed the ecu. which only adds to the wear and tear 80k miles and condenser
      fan already blow its bearings
