    Didn't God make Solomon rich and successful? Didnt HE financially bless Ruth? Didn't HE provide for David? IT'S ALL IN THE BIBLE. If that happened during Bible times,WHY can't it happen now to these pastors?

      Carissa Jamie Francis Did you even watch the video? Didnt the money changers use the temple for profit? Didnt it infuriate Jesus to the point he drove them out of the temple? The church DOES NOT exist for the pastor to live a lavish lifestyle.

    • @jlopez47
      @jlopez47 9 років тому +10

      +Carissa Jamie Francis Of course, since all rich people are blessed saints of God. Don't you remember Ananias and Sapphira who lied to the Holy Spirit about their profits from selling their possessions? They were struck dead for their sin (Acts 5:1-11). Steven Furtick is hiding the exact same information from his own congregation. More than that, he lies about the financial unity between his church and his book sales, and signs his house under the name of an associated business to further hide the origin of the funding for the house. Is this Godly behavior?

      jlopez47 Absolutely correct. Furtick is charismatic and a hater of the truth, that which is of God, not his own version of truth manipulation. When visiting your G+ it is very evident that we need to pray for you to read your Bible and look for a good shepherd to lead you to Christ, because Furtick is not of Christ. Furtick is of his own self-interest. Pray for him. In Christ name, Amen. www.GotQuestions.org www.GotLifeQuestions.com

      Go back and read about Solomon, Carissa - if you read - actually read- it - you will see that God blessed him with riches for a reason - and then - read about how his life ended. Once you read that - I don't think you'll be citing his story anymore to justify being rich.
      .

    • @janedough2107
      @janedough2107 8 років тому +7

      People are quick to point out Solomon and how God made him rich - but if they read the rest of the story, they will read about Solomon's miserable demise - due to his riches.
      God uses the riches He blessed him with - to teach us (for today) a lesson.

      Y'all are insane. But you're probably right though. I'm sure he's just manipulated his way through everything, using the church strictly for his own personal gains. I mean, forget that he's written Grammy winning and numerous other quite popular songs, designs clothes, and has written more books than you'll ever read. Not to mention the countless people he has launched and promoted and blessed with his own resources and business savvy. He probably shouldn't expect any compensation for any of that. You know, since I guess the Lord's work is supposed to be done for free. It's fine to be envious of someone who is genuinely better than you in every aspect - quite natural, even. But you don't have to, and shouldn't, attempt to tear down their work and/or personal character because of it. Good luck with everything 👍

    We all would like to have a big house and things of that sort. I go to elevation every week. Pastor Steven is very generous and gives millions to charities, he's written 3 books, he's earned the money he makes. It shows in the annual reports how much him and the church gives. Just because someone takes their money to build a home that they want why is that such a problem? All of these news reporters and press getting in his personal buisness like that need to be worrying about their own life. Sounds like they're more jealous than anything.

      yeoberry It's great for all the people working on his house. People who call themselves holy complain about the pornographers, but they're unaware of all the spin off. We all contribute our dollars to the economy. A person who's rich and snorting coke off the ass of a whore is contributing the same way Steven Furtick does, but Steven helps us spend money feeding the starving. Just think if we got the famished to talk dirty to us instead of paying someone else $19 a minute. The result would be the same. The person making the $19 a minute would have the cash instead, but that doesn't mean it won't reach the starving.

      Kip the purpose of existince is to bring glory to God. There are several scriputures that warn us against being rich. Most of us can't handle "being rich" and serving God to the fulliest. God knows this and that is why there are so many warnings. I don't see an ounce of humblenes in this man. The people seem to be robots to his teachings and nobody is testing what he is saying in light of scripture. That is a very dangerous path.

    I wonder what kind of house Chris Tomlin has, or Lincoln Brewster, or Michael W. Smith, or virtually any other Christian artist that has 'made it'. Steven Furtick has sold millions upon millions of books, of course he has money. He also has a family, and if he's not struggling financially, you can probably bet that God is honoring his obedience in tithing.

    • @jacktrotter8105
      @jacktrotter8105 9 років тому +1

      Brian you have completely misinterpreted scripture. There are more verses regarding warning about money than any other topic in the bible. Jesus absolutely was not rich. If you somehow read into the Word that He is rich you need to go back to 101. I don't give a flip if Steven is rich or not. My point is he is a prosperity preacher. It will be up to him to give an account on his finances. I would have a problem knowing my pastor had no accountability for his salary in the church which it appears Furtick does not. He refuses to open up anything about his finances when asked. That is a huge red flag. I don't go to his church and never will but I do think it's important to test what he is preaching in light of scripture and it doesn't take a theologian to see major issues with what he is saying. Sorry you are unable to see that. We are done here Brian. Good day.

    This man is incredibly successful financially wise. He started elevation from 14 people eight years ago and now he has a 16,000 square foot house. I think some very important lessons can be learned from his financial success. He has an incredible amount of support from his congregation which has enabled him to buy his own 16,000 square foot house. That seems a little extreme, but the fact remains that people are going to dump money on whatever they want to dump money on. If people want to help him buy him buy a house, let them! I don't think it's "God's Blessing." It's just that he has an incredible amount of support from his congregation.

    whether we attack or defend him, let us go to the Word first (isa. 8:19-20; acts 17:11; cf. 2 tim. 3:16). does furtick love money? i don't know. but Jesus said we are not to lay up our treasures on earth (matt. 6:19), and that we can know where one's heart is at by where his treasure is (6:21); that by how we use our money, we can see one's true master (6:24), and whether the 'light' in a person is true, or hypocrisy (6:22-23). paul repeatedly says how he could have used his rights as an apostle to make financial demands on his congregations, but forfeited them, so that they might see his concern was not their possessions, but their souls (1 cor. 9:1-27). he made it his aim to put no obstacle in the way of his hearers (2 cor. 6:3-10). yes, paul says elders are worthy of double honor (1 tim. 5:17). but in the previous chapters, he warns elders about being lovers of money (3:4 with 4:6), since they are to be the example for the believers (4:11-12, 15-16). whether furtick is a false teacher, i won't say. but the Scriptures repeatedly say that false teachers usually categorized by these primary motives: power (superstar mentality), sex, or money (these were the traits of the false 'imposter' teachers in 2 tim. 3:1-9). finally, in hebrews 11, those whom we are called to imitate those whose city is heavenly, not earthly (11:8-10), whose homeland is not of this earth (11:13-16). moses cared not for the riches of this world (11:26) because he endured by 'seeing Him who is invisible" (11:27). why? we have no lasting city here, but seek the city to come (13:14). as for judging, we must heed matt. 7:15-20 as much as 7:1. i am more concerned that we go to Scripture, than whether or not furtick is wrong. the only way to know is Scripture, not by what 'camp' we belong to. Steven Furtick's preaching has impacted my life and i'm now a 15 year old teenager with a fire for Jesus all because God has used Steven to preach the word of God. And there is nothing new under the sun. Jesus even said that people will persecute you for following him. This is only an effect and a proof for that the bible to clearly stated.

    If Furtick was truly interested in helping people find Christ, he would be publishing his own books and DVDs and handing them out for free. Instead, he rather charge $11.99, buy commercials with church funds, build a million dollar home, and act like a victim when people question his motives. Furtick uses our benevolent Creator and people's passion to serve God as a means to gain financially.

      The Christian faith doesn't work like that.
      We have the mandate to call out everyone who tries to profit from salvation and the faith.
      We receive from God for free. We must give for free and God Himself will be the one to pay us for that work and provide for our needs. Nobody works for God for free so they shouldn't act like they're not being paid for their service.

    Well, gotta say, this pastor seems like a slick business man. All I know is, when someone looks at you, can they see God thru your actions and your love for others? We as Christians are supposed to model our life after Jesus life, only once can i remember when Jesus was extravagant, was when Mary Magdalene washed his feet with the perfumed oil, and he allowed her to do that because he knew she was preparing him for his soon to be earthly death and burial. but he lived humbly, in today's terms he was poor, he didn't even have money to pay the roman taxes until he told one of his disciples to go catch a fish and the coins for the tax was in the fish's mouth, he relied on others for shelter and food when he was travelling all over, so that would make him homeless, he hung out with friends(some who were the lower class of questionable society) and he really ticked off the religious ruling class, he did not fit in with them at all. And he told rich people to give away their gold and earthly possessions, give to the poor and widows and orphans, live a modest life, love god and love others, no hating them, no judging them, that's God's job to judge. So I don't judge this pastor, God will do that but I do wonder what Jesus would think about his house if invited to this pastor's house for supper? Same with going to the Vatican, or any big elaborate house of worship?? I kinda get the feeling he'd be more comfortable in a soup kitchen chatting with whoever is there.

    Just a thought, have you ever considered the fact that maybe Steven was obedient in serving God and therefore he was blessed? He devotes his life to Elevation Church and the furthering of Christ's Kingdom. His books are amazing and honestly God has changed my life through the obedience of this pastor! Honestly, there financial reports are nobody's business but Elevation and it's congregation, not the national news. Watch one of his sermons online, you will see just how much he allows Jesus to work through him. Is it a crime to have a nice home? No... God blesses the GIVER and Furtick GIVES! I see this as a way to poke the Christian church and to poke Elevation because of their ability to completely engage attention from people because God has gifted them with the ability to incorporate the 21st century around the Bible. He preaches over an hour every week and it's SPIRIT LEAD, never heard anyone like him. I am a pastor, and I support Steven, and Elevation 100%.

    1. I don't see in the Bible were we are instructed to not make $ but rather to be content no matter the circumstances. Remember, God was the God of Soloman and of John the Baptist. It comes down to obedience.....Money is not the root of evil....The LOVE of money is! 2. The "money changers" in the temple were driven out because they were telling the poor that their sacrifice was not good enough and therefore they needed to purchase a better sacrifice from them.....This is what Jesus got mad about! I don't necessarily agree with an enormous mansion like this, but why should pastors not be successful?

    Apart from him making money on his book, being a pastor is his job so whatever he does with that money is his choice. Giving anyone information of finances in any company/business is against the law. So I do not think that the media should be concerned about how much money anyone is making. Maybe we should go ask NBC how much the CEO makes and what he does with his money. This pastor works hard and has put a lot of effort into his ministry and job. Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe he is just a good steward with his money or is that just abnormal for America?

    Maybe the reason why people attack God's people and try bring them down negatively is they never really sought to have a relationship with God. We do live in a selfish and jealous world. We want to gain fame and fortune. We get jealous when someone has a lot of accomplishments, and we try to bring them down so we can lift ourselves up. As Christians, we are always going to be attacked because of the one who has saved us and who we live for, but God also promises us that if we follow His plan that we will be blessed tremendously (Matthew 13:23). As you can see in this video, Pastor Steven and Elevation only started out with 14 people, and look to where it is today. People from the outside will look at money and how many books he is profiting off of them, but are we actually looking at the actual purpose. The purposes of his ministry and his books is not to lift himself up for his glory, but to lift people up so that they may experience a personal relationship with Christ, which is what we are called to do as Christians (Matthew 28:18-20). So maybe if we want to experience a number of blessings, maybe we ought to seek the God, who has authority over all the earth, and complete His will, then see what happens in your life. Nothing can compare to the mercy and riches of God!

      +Casa Nova Solomon was a king, not a pastor. And the only reason Solomon was a king was because the people of Israel rejected God as their king. God is our king, not any one pastor.
      So the better analogy would be Timothy. Did Timothy have a huge palace? Hopefully not, given that this is what Paul wrote to him (1 Tim. 6:3-10):
      3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

      Well first, Your pastor is nowhere near Solomon, so I resent you equating the two... second, if people in your church don't care that he gets 'filthy rich' from the church and his books, then no, I don't care either. IT is not however, biblical for the 'shepherds' to be so rich.

    This is a hack job report. Who cares if he has a big income or house? The expert critics they use in this video need to examine their own lives instead of dumping on someone who has done a lot to contribute to charities. 6:51- the radio guy says he's doing the same thing the money changers were doing in the temple, "using God's house to make a profit." This theology is incredibly unsound. The New Testament expressly states that a building is not the church, the people are. If we want to complain about how much money someone is entitled to make in ministry then where do we draw the line? I'm sure the pastor and the radio guy in the video could give up more for the kingdom especially considering they are rich compared to most under developed countries in the world. I'm not a prosperity preacher supporter but think this news report and subsequent critics need to put down their hypocritical stones...rant over.

    Once again the church and the world is arguing about Money!. This is so sad. People you really have to read your bible. There is nothing wrong with this Pastor being rich. The bible says A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. We don't know what this man has gone through in his life and the price he has had to pay. Furthermore, Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God and many more scriptures in the bible like this. Job was wealthy and the bible says he was an upright man. So was Abraham, David, Solomon etc., does that mean they were evil? There are appointed to some people upon this earth to be wealthy. The LOVE of money is the root to all evil, not money itself. The bible also says money answers all things (but keep in context of the scriptures) like helping and being a blessing to others. After all, how can you be a blessing to others if you are always in need and have nothing to give. Yes, Jesus was poor, but it was his assignment on earth to suffer this, to be touched by all aspects of what we feel so he could be an accurate intercessor for us. There is no honor in suffering and being a martyr through an assignment that's not yours. He doesn't have to disclose how much he makes. People see others prospering and they get envious because it's not them, yet they are not willing to pay the price to achieve in their own lives, so they lash out at those who do. Just know that what God has for you, no one can take away. Leave your legacy, he is leaving his. Give what God is asking of you and be done. If these pastor's are doing wrong with it, God will judge and they SHALL answer to Him. I pray for this pastor to continue to reach the masses for Christ and that his heart stays pure, truthful and he continues to mature in the fruits of the spirit Amen!

    Anyone that says Steven Furtick is not of God, nor any of the other mega churches' pastors, are complete morons and do not know their Bibles. Just because Steven doesn't fit into the mold of what you think he should be, does not mean he is not of God. In fact, you do not know your Bible at all. Read Deutoronomy 28 and it will tell you how you will be blessed if you keep the law of the Lord. Pastor Steven keeps it real, and reads more Bible during his sermons than most ever do. As far as his book sales, he writes those books. That money SHOULD be his!! Most of you need to open the Bible and see what it really says because it is apparent you are not reading it now!

    This is what the devil does. He blinds the flesh by "stealing, killing, and destroying" -John 10:10. He will find ways to break your faith. To feel ashamed and to fall away from God. The devil is dead and means nothing to the world, so he uses Gods people to turn against God. For the devil does not understand that his future awaits him. Jesus is coming soon. And the Devil is SCARED. So he's using his little precious time to make all flesh become like him!! Have to remember that God is BIGGER, STRONGER, more FEROCIOUS, and LOVING. I trust in pastor furtick for what he is doing, God blessed his heart and family for serving the Lord. It's like Jesus and the Pharisees. Where the Pharisees lived in the Old Testament's word when Jesus said he is the son of God. The Pharisees was too focused on Gods word that they forgot what it feels like to have that connection with God. God is Loved. Rather than judging and thinking about MONEYYYYY all the time, pray for him if you "think" he's doing wrong. AND PLEASE PRAY FOR YOURSELF TOO.

    For 1. Jesus was being kill for doing nothing wrong cause ppl are evil to begin with so Jesus already proved to us just because we do God work doesn’t mean it is going to end well
    2. He has like three or four kids so all of them need their room. He needs it also big living room and study room and maybe a gym area , 7 bedroom house and stuff is what he needs . I mean how is he going to host ppl with tiny house? If he needs it and want a bit luxury , and just because he is a pastor doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy nice things in life and if he made the money he can enjoy some nice stuff in life . It doesn’t make all the pastors a better pastor just because you live in a smaller house . House and wealth do not define a pastor. The fruit of his work does and he has been reaching and preaching and yes he is marketing the book , well Jesus been marketing the Bible . I am not saying it’s the same . But if he wrote it and help ppl so why he is not suppose to market it ?!!
    Jealousy is the root of all evil 👿 so everyone on his case because they were jealous and hoping God would bless them like God bless Steven Furtick . And therefore they wanna see what they CAN do to bring pastor steve down
    When you well known , you get haters .
