  • I have some preparation and upgrades to do before the next outing. It'll be good to slow it down for a bit. Vikings still gotta eat.
Be mindful that I'd like to experience as much of this fresh as possible. No spoilers please.
    Give tips when:
    - I ask for them.
    - I'm doing something wrong.
    - I could be doing something better.
    DON'T give tips when:
    - They spoil the surprise or joy of discovery.
    - They're about things I haven't seen, unlocked, or otherwise shouldn't know about yet.
    - Finding out the hard way seems like more fun ;)

I never have too many bones, but my favorite item to decorate with is a max upgraded bone tower shield.
Santa gives charcoal to naughty children, Thor gives it to victorious vikings. They are not the same.

I approve of your new garden wall! Much more robust!! I was going to give you a hard time about your water damaged interior but figured you were just going for a more rustic look Personally would drive me nutz! Maybe you could class up your interior with some ceiling beams or utilize the metal reinforced beams with core wood beams built over them for a really cool look. I do like your spacious base and I don't think its too large. I generally build in a more traditional viking look with my builds but do like your fortress and its in a pretty cool spot with the bay there. Oah and to nit pick please pull up your floors in the workshop and remove the foliage poking through.. that would also drive me nutz LOL. Looking forward to your next videos! You've come a long way Viking.. but so much to go. Great adventure and terrors await! Cheers.

The ol’ Viking villa has been neglected a little. I wouldn’t mind getting some more iron before committing to reinforced beams, but you’re right, it needs more flourish.
Along with interior repairs it’d also make sense to put some crystal windows. Much to do!

IRON: Yes you will need a lot more Iron. Two things you can never have enough of in this game.. Iron and Wood.

You’re not kidding. If we find more dungeons in swamps I might make a special detour to gather more iron.

For more "excitement," go for a stroll in the mountains at night, chop a few trees here and there, you know the lingo.

I have found that if you plant flax and barley in rotation it makes more sense. A complete crop of barley or flax. The split crop is ok when you are getting the seed count up other than that it is just a waste of ground in the long run. Or you could use a different bit of ground for the other crop.

    • @Blondefire_HeyBlondie
      @Blondefire_HeyBlondie  Місяць тому +1

I think the split works okay. I have more barley flour than I know what to do with now so it’s only flax which needs to catch up. And there isn’t that much to spend linen thread on now.

24:58 Is that a shroom between the ferns?
1:13:48 Yes, I mark all the things,
probably too many things, as my map lags when I scroll out XD.
But it does make collection a doddle.
1:59:43 Desperate times? You're surrounded by trees :P
p.s. I don't know why that one bit of archway keeps breaking.
p.p.s Previously you've learned that regular wood does not support stone.

Hmm, not sure, I couldn’t see anything.
I’d rather maintain the surrounding forest (yes, I know I could plant trees 😋). Besides, there are other places to get wood during our travels.
In this case stone doesn’t seem to support stone either 😕
Besides, I’ve been meaning to put wooden corners on those archways for a while.

Red mushrooms spawn up to 5 in one place (unless there are two spawning points very close together). I think my best finding so far has been two spawning points that made practically a single patch spawning 8 mushrooms. I never have any problems spotting them in the grass in Meadows, but find it a bit more difficult in the Black Forest vegetation. But generally (from my experience, that might be biased by particular map seeds) they tend to be slightly more abundant in Meadows rather than in the BF anyway.

It’s always nice to find a couple of clusters together. Marking the ones near the base will make it easier in future.

Y’know, despite it being a local dish I’ve never tasted it. I’ll eat pies all day long but a pie floater? I’ve never been a fan of peas 😝

@@Blondefire_HeyBlondie As a guy from Central Europe, I love peas. Fresh and dried. We just forego pies and put sausage in pea soup instead. Much better Pea to meat ratio. And now, as I mentioned pea soup, I am contractually obliged to make it, or my Slavic license will be revoked.

@Zaaphod Peas have been the enemy since childhood but aim slowly coming around. Same with brussel sprouts. I used to hate them too but had them prepared at a restaurant recently and holy shit were they fantastic!

I do, but I’d rather reserve them for black metal while there’s still black metal to smelt.

I have no idea why that one arch keeps breaking . . . glitch in the matrix

    • @Vasilio1000
      @Vasilio1000 Місяць тому

I have had similar glitches on several occassions, and one much worse glitch in one of my maps. A whole section of raised ground kept resetting to the original level every time I tried to dig something with a pickaxe in the vicinity of my base. Every time I had to rebuild part of my forge building afterwards. I think these glitches may be caused by some incorrect saving when you have huge buildings with too many build pieces, but not sure since devs have tried to fix it several times. Probably some errors still get embedded in the cloud world save file when you exit the game/steam too fast. Usually this happens with cloud saves, not with local saves. It is the main reason I do big building using only local saves.

It’s really frustrating. I may end up propping it will core wood something to see if it helps.
