this is exactly what ive been doing. Ive got six priuses. two daily drivers and the other four are project cars. ill probably end up selling them as my health has started to decline.
@@TheHybridGuy the two id like to sell are in running condition. The first one needa the rear brake lines on it redone. That one has 147k. The other runs fine, but needs some tlc. Id like to keep the other two for parts or for when i eventually am able to get around to fixing them.
There was a time when i would find them and buy them and fix them up and donate them to families in need. But over the last two years things have changed dramatically and i cant afford to do it anymore.
Your choice, allowed for you illustrate how fault analysis, sorting upstream or downstream issues, show constraint of replacement, how corrosion impacts diagnostics (subtle water damage), and rebuild a battery. Thrown in how to restore light facia. I didn't catch if you replaced or fixed the AC compressor. Denso so reliable. Only a few things left.. to build on. Thanks for the great show.
Hi, great video. I found you while looking for information about the P3000 and dreaded red triangle which had popped on my 2005 Prius that I've owned since almost new (
Love your videos, i love that you bringing the dead car back to life, i have a prius and loved it! I've worked on my car and appreciate that u took your time to fix things right!
Hi Peter, good job in breathing new life to a junkyard Prius, a lot of useful info in the video, I had to subscribe and I'll check your other content 🙂I have also a question please - I actually found your channel thanks to your article on torquenews about how you fixed Prius P0420 error (catalyst below threshold) using a can of CRC Valve cleaner. I have the same issue with my Gen2 Prius and wanted to know how exactly did you apply the spray. Is it OK to remove air filter cover, then have someone to keep engine running and apply the spray directly to the opened intake (to area where I can see the throttle valve/flap). I heard the spray should not get in contact with Mass Air Flow sensor, so I would be spraying well below it. Thanks for your reply!
So, I made en entirely separate video on my battery reconditioning process that I should be dropping here in a day or two once editing is done. And yes I always top balance.
Thank you! it was a feat for sure. that car was really tore up when I got it. It seemed like everything was broken. Fun video to make and I did end up making some decent money on it.
@@TheHybridGuy I had my 2004 Toyota Prius since 2019 when I graduated high school and it’s been loyal to me for the past few years on the original battery I love this car

Just do as the can instructs. put in maintenance mode.
Don't you have to top-balance the modules? What was the reconditioning, or conditioning, routine? This is interesting but a lot is left out.

Nice video. What was the engine code?
The first one was P1150 the second one was p3000 but I had forgot to plug in the HV battery fan which is why the second one appeared.
