If he’s been caught 11 times. Imagine how many times no one caught him.
Hundreds - maybe thousands of times.
Exactly!
Every other day man. Every other day.
I can bet you he drives intoxicated *every, single time* he gets behind the wheel.
@@hoptoit5910 the number of incidents and the frequency really tell the story. The problem is that he wasn't caught EVERY DAY. But in reality, he was driving 3 to 4 times drunk every day for the past 20 years or so. That is somewhere around 25,000 times driving drunk if my math is right.
Ridiculous that my kids have to share roads with people who have 11 DUI’s
Should be in prison.
Right this is crazy
He would be if he were in TX, trust.
You know the old saying, "20 strikes and you're out."
He WAS in prison!
So he can drink prison wine?
Three years of military service back in the 80s is completely irrelevant, especially if he's picked up a dozen DUIs since then. This man should never be allowed to drive again.
He should be in prison for life.
He's not allowed. He does anyway.
With people like him, you revoke his license and he'll drive anyway
@@Alboalt Which is why he should be placed in Prison!!! He is a public safety risk and as such should be in prison for life!!!!
@@caryhetzel2809 This is the US. We have the 8th Amendment, prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment. A prison term for life even for felony DUI would certainly violate that. The punishment has to fit the crime.
I'm Japanese. In my country if you drink and drive once you lose your license for life. There is no legal limit, if you have one beer and drive you will never drive again in Japan. We have almost no deaths from DUI's. This just seems crazy to me.
Sadly, people still drive, with or without a license.
That's not even close to true. You can have < .15ml/L BAC and still be legal. Please don't just make things up.
In the states, if you’re over .08, you get a DUI.
In Japan, it’s .03. That’s about 1 oz. of 100 proof alcohol or 1-12 oz. bottle of beer. It’s so low that you basically can’t drink at all and drive.
We definitely should be like Japan and this category.
Y’all have trains and barley need to drive.
This guy won’t learn. And don’t bring up his service record as if it deletes any of his actions.
You mean the measly 3 yrs he did? I’m curious as to why only 3 as standard enlistments are 4 years.
Eh, his lawyer is working with what he has...
Military would prob cringe he’s using it as a means for mitigation. Don’t tarnish the military dude
@@laurajercha9587 As if the military is something to be proud of, they'll take anyone.
Eleven DUIs! At what point do we take him off the road?
After a fatality.
@@jakemoeller7850 sad but true
@@jakemoeller7850unfortunately
Happens ALL of the time in the state I live! It’s crazy. I believe the highest number was 12 times by one individual! Insanity.
47 is the magic number
"He regularly attends AA meetings"..... well, OBVIOUSLY THAT DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING AT THIS POINT, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT WORKING!!!! lock him up already!
Day before court he looks into an inpatient treatment - lol
Plenty of people sit in the back of an AA meeting and do nothing to follow the program. Many who are court ordered, simply get the secretary to sign an attendance sheet and then they walk out the door.
Yeah, right…He regularly attends AA meetings….with a beer in his hand.
@@marysullivan6398 AA will help you quit drinkin'. Sober for 46 years.
He's a veteran, he can go to the VA for treatment! He's definitely a hazard to the community.
If he was serious about treatment even a little bit, he would have been in inpatient rehab years ago. He literally went to prison and got out and immediately went back to drinking and driving. Keep that in mind, drinking isn't illegal, he could drink as much as he wanted if he just did not drive. Anyway my point is that this is incredibly common. People are more than happy to continue drinking and doing drugs all day for months and years at a time and then suddenly when standing in front of the judge they need help and need rehab. It's a joke.
I'm just here to see Mr. Allen called by judge Simpson..
I wonder if he knows how much we love his work. 😊
its soooo fly
Mr Allen is soft
Oh, baby. Somebody said he needs his own YT channel. 😍
I live down the street from Judge Simpson's courtroom. I should rent out myself out as a guide to take folks on trips to see Mr.Allen!!!
My brother was killed by a drunk driver. This make's my blood boil, and he was a repeat offender. This man should lose his right to hold a drivers licenses FOR EVER.
I was hit by a drunk driver as well, with the excuse (in court) that iyt was the first time he had an accident and was going to a divorce !
Let's all chip in and buy Judge Simpson's courtroom some efficient microphones.
Your tax dollars should already provide such
The two words you never want to hear in Judge Simpson's courtroom are "Mister Allen."
I love looking at Mr Allen !
I look forward to hearing "Mr. Allen." 😊
Love when Judge Simpson says “Mr. Allen”!
Man, I missed it again. Had to go back - yep, there goes Mr Allen.
At this point the fact he's not in prison is a miscarriage of justice
No amount of bond would be high enough. Send him to prison
"Sentence first, verdict afterwards." -Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland, 1865.
The defense attorney seriously thinks the defendant deserves leniency?? That’s why I couldn’t be a defense attorney.
Thats his job. To zealously defend his client. Its not for everyone but thank goodness there are men and women who have that calling
He may not think he deserves leniency, but he has to advocate for it.
The defense attorney can’t say “yeah your honor, fuck this guy. He’s guilty as fuck, lock him up” like who would hire someone like that?
Defense attorneys have a very tough job, especially defending people or bad people that obviously are guilty and worthy of punishment.
@@TarHeelsKennyActually, behavior like that from a defense attorney would probably guarantee the conviction being overturned on appeal for ineffective assistance of counsel. So maybe there’s a possible strat there if you’re reaaally desperate. 🙂
The attorney disgusted me when he said no one was hurt in the course of this guy's drunk driving accident. What would he be saying if someone had been killed? My client takes full responsibility?
11 DUI's, attending AA??? In-patient treatment will be just as successful for this guy.
He's been caught 11 times, how many times did he get away with it ?
When the glasses get taken off and the forehead gets rubbed you know that particular accused has had it !
fool me once, shame on you. fool me eleven times... well, you get the gist
Asking for leniency for a person who has 11 DUI's to continue doing what he is doing? WTF.
That's an attorney I'd want on my side. He's doing his job.
If you don’t ask how can you find out? It is still up to the prosecutors’ office to not make plea deals on anyone with more than 2 DUI’s! Absolutely ridiculous he is still drinking and driving!
I loved that part, "to continue what he is doing." Ummm. To continue to drink and get dui's and continue to put other people's lives in jeopardy?
Note how the defense lawyer not only brings up his (irrelevant) military record but throws in the word "Christian" to some group he wants him to join. It's all to manipulate a judge. I'm glad this judge sees right through all that b.s. The defendant should have his driving priveleges revoked for life.
It is his job to attempt to paint his client in the best possible light. It’s the prosecution’s job to do the opposite. The judge decides what is relevant and what is true. That’s how the system works
He probably has had his driving privileges revoked, but that doesn't stop him from getting into a car.
People use Christianity like its some sort of defense... going to church once a week is meaningless if you live the rest of your life as a miscreant. If you're such a decent Christian, you probably wouldn't be here on your 11th DUI!
"There was an accident!? Mr. Allen..."
Priceless
He should be in PRISON FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. It's now time to care about OTHER citizens' lives. 😡
Defendant is a serial liar and a serial failure. He should never drive again, he should never have a license again, and he should never own a car again. There is no reason for the state, or the state's court system, to continue threatening the health and safety of the rest of us by allowing this non-stop offender to drive ever again.
We're from Arizona and this state would have imprisoned him long ago. How that schmuck is on his twelfth dui is a reflection on the shambles the courts are in. Excuses and victims have overtaken this country. He should be in prison for at least ten years
They DID imprison him. He served time in prison for previous DUIs...and now he's served that time, gotten out, and is doing it again.
You can imprison him but his term will eventually end. And where are you then?
He’s so slick with “Mr. Allen”. Love it !
I respect the Judge for saying he’d release the funds for inpatient treatment
I'm a sober house manager. In addiction, if you aren't moving forward you're moving backward. Yes, it's difficult and sometimes incarceration is the only thing that will get a person sober. He's been given many chances and hasn't used them to better himself. It's sad but clearly the meetings and counseling aren't helping. At this point he simply shouldn't be allowed to drive again in any state.
Sobriety happens with hard work and the person wanting to get well. My dad did long rehabs in two elite facilities (one of them he had a room that an Aerosmith member used), and he still had a bottle of vodka in his car when he died.
This man needs a long prison sentence and never be able to get a drivers license. So what if he is a veteran; so are a million other clean/sober veterans.
How does this guy have a license. This is ridiculous. I know his insurance has to be sky high, if he even has any. This is one of the problems with our judicial system. He has probably been offered plea deals and plead to other charges.
It's more than the judicial system. The legislative branch makes the laws by which the judicial branch administers. Consult with your legislators.
You think he has a license?
He doesn’t have a license.
I was in the US Navy 40 yrs ago , I don't think it counts against any criminal activity defence today.
I am a combat disabled veteran, made this mistake once, never did my service come up, and I quit drinking that night. This dude did 3 years, getting disability still, and milking it for everything. Pathetic.
lol. Mr. Allen. When you hear that here…
I would not have the nerve to go in front of Judge Simpson with this!!😮
03:01 With the purposeful utterance of “Mr. Allen”, it was at this moment that he knew… well, y’all know the rest.
I love it when Mr. Allen is summoned. This new attorney is bad at this. Try again son.
Let Him Do What He's Been Doing ? He is Driving Drunk !! 😢
That little lawyer is as sketchy as his clients, I'm sure Judge Simpson gets prepared for what's coming.
He knows somebody
If that was one of my parents on their 12th DUI I would never be in court backing them up - would have terminated my relationship by now. Him putting the lives of others at risk is just as bad as a random person putting my life, my children’s and grandchildren’s lives at risk.
Go to court for guardianship and sign them into a long term facility for alcohol treatment. The VA has a great program as I know many people who have successfully taken the VA program and have not drank again.
Leniency so my client "... can keep on doing what he has been doing."
😳😳🥺🥺😬😬😱😱
Physically injured yeah he wants to hit the bar right after court
Nobody was hurt THIS time.
This guy's military service and being a lifelong Michigan citizen are completely irrelevant to him getting caught with a DUI 11 times. Oh he's in AA - clearly it's not working!
He's a drunk driver. He belongs in jail before he kills somebody. How can he have a driver's license? What wrong with these judges? No wonder insurance is so high.
His ol shoe leather liver should be calling it quits soon so that will get him off the road😵😵
True
Why isn't he in jail like 6 DUI'S ago. Like Years in jail.
He was in prison, as you might have noted.
He was in prison but he also has never hurt someone. Victimless crime.
just send him to jail
WHY is this guy driving at all and not in prison?!
On the upside this defendant has recently been knighted as Sir Rosis of Liver.
AA meetings and conntinues to get drunk 🤔 He DGAF because he continues to get slapped on his hand instead of punched in the gut. He needs to sit down with some serious time with no early release.
"Mr. Allen."
😁😁😁
He should go straight to jail!
Fun fact: when this guy got a DUI in 2017, also involving him crashing his car, he filed a federal lawsuit against Monroe County and the magistrate judge who signed the warrant for his blood draw
Wow trying to weasel his way out of it or get money out of it?
Is there an article about that somewhere?
@@jamon5933 Don't know if there's any news articles, but if you Google his name, one of the first links is a Justia page with a PDF of an appellate court's affirmation of a district court's dismissal of the lawsuit
Wow, he is damn lucky that Judge Simpson is so caring to the point where he is able to be transferred to a rehab facility, I personally think he needs to sit his ass in prison for quite some time! 11 DUI’S!! How is that even freaken possible?🤷♀️😡
Why does this man still have a drivers license?
The donkey-party has left the chat
The judge said he's not trying to punish him, he also said he was bless that he wasnt injured? What about the innocent people who share the road with him? That's the problem with the judicial system today they care more about helping the assailants then punishment..That's why they repeat doing their dirt because they get victim treatment.
Navy veteran from 82-85. Went to two AA meetings…yesterday. “Looked into” inpatient rehabilitation.
You know you’re boned when you hear “Mr. Allen !”
Way to go Magistrate Fink!
We residents of Washtenaw County can always count on you to show poor judgement and let drunks back on the roads with the rest of us.
“Abuse of discretion “ - true words from Judge Simpson.
I think somebody was eating the microphone during this one.
Do you think 11 previous DUI’s /still drinking/still DRIVING on our streets should even be out in society after, say, 3 or4 / 6 or 7/ 9 or 10 WOULD PUT THIS GUY AWAY.⁉️⁉️⁉️
I guess they just want us to wait til the climax of this horror movie-
“11 time OWI defendant out on bail drives into group of school children!”😡
Thank you for your 3 years of Service 44 years ago, luckily we wasn't at war at that time. I know PTSD is a real problem but unfortunately too many abuse the system and take advantage of it. I'm beyond sickened and angry how horrible the court system handles drunk drivers!
11 DUIs? Someone in the justice system should be in jail alongside him.
He needs more than counseling and programs. His license should be immediately revoked and he should enjoy some time in jail cell to contemplate how he's been putting the public at risk.
Words of wisdom from a true master of the Bench.
My daughter has brain damage from a drunk driving into her bedroom at 65 miles an hour when she was 3. My daughter has a lifetime of effects from that driver's choice. The same driver got another DUI a month later.
This man is a straight-up menace to society. Good grief! Our legislators need to do better. How many chances does he get before he unalives someone??? It's shameful! 11 chances is more than enough leniency!!! 😡
Nothing good comes from Judge Simpson uttering the words, "Mr. Allen".
This defense attorney is attempting to make his drunk client look like a Boy Scout who just happens to make small, insignificant mistakes. I drive often. Knowing that these criminals are on the road despite multiple arrests is unimaginable
This defense attorney is just earning a paycheck and couldn't give two craps about the defendant. It's impossible to defend a lifelong drunk.
What does the fact that he is a life long Michigan resident have to do with bond? Does that mean, if I moved to Michigan a year ago, my residence doesn't mean crap?
If you moved to Michigan a year ago, bond will be slightly harder for you.
It's an old school reasoning. If you're living in one area for your entire life, has ties to the community, you're less of a flight risk. In this case, the judge isn't worried he'll run away, so it doesn't matter.
I know a guy who has 3 first-time dwi charges
You can have sympathy and also hope for the best, but this is beyond scary. He won't and can't stop.
Mr. Allen. Two words a defendant never wants to hear in Judge Simpson's courtroom.
I just wish that more of the videos cut to the defendants as Cedric calls "Defendant is remanded..." so we can see the cuffs going on them. Always perks my ears when I hear him start off with "Mr. Allen..." because we know what's coming in a few moments. Finally, I loved Cedric's little finger point toward the door as he said the word "remanded". Almost like the Gong Show (for those of use old enough to remember).
Meanwhile....watching Mr. Allen saunter over and stand behind the defendant. 😊
Judge Simpson, is without a doubt, an amazing judicator. He chose to look into this mans dismal future, while still protecting the public. The offering of s compassioned option towards this aging alcoholic..was something i have rarely witnessed.
He could've just had him incarcerated AGAIN, for his uncontrolled behavior..and righteously so. But, instead..presented in the least, an opportunity for a REAL change in this mans life.
I have been sooo impressed with Judge Simpson's experience and wisdom, in the many cases I have watched via Zoom. Remarkable..
P. S.
A very wise, fair and compassionate judge.
He should be the standard for appointments to the Federal Court.
Magistrate Fink screwed up in setting his bond too low. He doesn’t deserve any more breaks.
Not the first time, won't be the last. She has given PR bond for violent felonies. She needs to go.
@@inglesd90 I’ve noticed that about her lately. Judge Simpson said she abused her authority in setting his bond; I wonder if an admonition is in her near future.
@@inglesd90I agree 100%! I’m from Ypsi and I’m sick of watching her hand out lenient bonds. She does her job poorly.
The only REQUIREMENT for MEMBERSHIP in AA is a DESIRE to stop drinking......
How can the defendant not be locked up after 11 DUIs?? DUIs should be a felony and charged as attempted aggravated assault with more jail time after each. This guy will kill someone and it will be the justice system’s fault for their murder!!!!
He's out of prison two years ago and has to come up with a $50,000 bond.
Judge was extremely kind and fair. He is either confined or inpatient treatment.
I couldn't be a defense attorney. Just listening to this guy. I can't believe he's saying some of this stuff out loud! So crazy!

“Mr Allen” = *3 Hots & a Cot* 🤣
When Judge Simpson says "Mr. Allen", the defense atty starts talking as fast as he can on behalf of his client because he knows what's coming next.
11 ? Veteran ? Attends A A ? No injuries ? So What ? DO NOT ALLOW HIM BEHIND A WHEEL !
i love this judge thank you sir for your service
Life, life in prison. He is a danger to the public every single day! He's been getting DUI's almost as long as I have been alive!
Bravo, Judge. Well done.
This goes right into the time capsule as a Cedric hug fan. He just puts his hand in his face and rubs it. I know what he is thinking. Hes not mad. Patience of a saint. Mike in Princeton, NJ.
Once I saw the bailiff move behind the defendant, I knew it was over for him 😂😂😂😂😂😂 dude is a drink away from vehicular homicide!!!!! He's a danger!!!!
"There was a crash?"
"Yes."
"Mr. Allen..."
The perp is going to jail.
Judge Simpson us THE BEST! 😊
"Christian Based" ... that doesn't make it better.
Mr. Allen...
How is someone with eleven DUI’s not serving a life sentence already? This has to stop!!
Why do the courts waste time with someone who isn't willing to change? He will eventually hurt someone if he's allowed to get out of this again. I'm disappointed Judge Simpson is going easy on him. Why?
He should have been in prison yrs ago no more chances peroid 😢
"... allow him to continue doing what he's doing",
Well that does appear to be the problem, doesn't it.
I’m a Navy veteran, 1970-74. I’ve seen people die in war. That doesn’t give me any special rights, especially the right to endanger other’s lives by driving while intoxicated. If you want to drink, drink at home or have someone else who hasn’t been drinking to drive you. Simple as that.
I don't understand why stricter punishments aren't handed down for repeat offenders. He shouldn't have a license, his household should have interlocks on their cars for life because of this man. Whatever treatment he's doing on his own obviously isn't working. I don't think in-patient will work either, to be honest. He's a lost cause at this point.
If leniency is to be used, the defendant should also have an alcohol tether/ monitoring program that continually addresses the issue.
A compassionate no nonsense Judge
