I think it’s simple economics. The fact that they need GPs now is a good thing, it’s simple supply and demand. Now we can demand decent salaries and excellent locum rates, but a day will come when an anp can do the exact same job as a gp for half the money, guess who will get the job? All I can see is the power of the gp being degraded year by year until we have no power at all. The 1980s was the golden era of gp, those days are now over and will never come again...
