So I have a story about my dog.

Ok. So he came in from spain so he was in the warm a lot, and we got him in the english winter. He was not happy i tell you! We had to keep him really warm for a very long time until he finally got used to it. We bought him a hot water bottle in a giraffe case and even tho he is really happy now he refuses to give up the last scrap of this giraffe case. He sleeps with it every night!
Btw this was my last doggo i got im getting another soon!
Honestly, I hate to say this because I know you’re just trying to make a buck, but as a former teacher I DESPISE programs like Grammarly because the attitude of (most) kids nowadays is genuinely “Why do I need to learn how to spell or punctuate my sentences properly when computers will do it for me?”

I was a full grown adult, working a part time job while in college, and every year i went to the toy isle around christmas to see if there was anything i'd want. No one could tell me no. I got little science/robotics/geology kits, cheap jewelry kits, a kid's loom...pretty much anything i would have maybe wanted as a child outside of like action figures (don't worry, i got some of those, too, but they just post in my windows as a conversation starter)
My people! My niece and I get along so well, lol. She's 11 now and getting a little angsty, but we bond over video games, plushies, comics, art, crafts, etc. I own tons of Squishmallows and Build A Bear plush, and I just discovered Mercari.
Love a beard, my husband isn’t allowed to shave his - even the kids freak out when he randomly decides to shave then grow it back, the youngest two literally cried and wouldn’t go near him for days as they weren’t convinced he wasn’t some kind of other daddy who was going to do evil things to everyone 😂😂
My daughter cried when I shaved mine as well... ! LOL
Aww, to be fair I wanted to cry when he shaved too, looked far too young therefore making me look older 👵🏻
That reminds me of when my sister got her long hair cut short. When her then 4 year old daughter saw it she burst out crying, sobbing “ you’re not my mommy”. She was upset for days.
I do not even know what my husband looks like without his beard. 🙈
I'm adding this comment in April 2023, but I've only just seen the video.
My stepdad shaved of his beard when 8 was about 12 years old, and my sister and brother ( his kids - we share the same mum) were aged 3 and 2. I thought he looked stupid, but my sister freaked out, started screaming that there was a "bad man" trying to take her! My mum and I were laughing hysterically about her reaction! She wouldn't go anywhere near him for about 2 weeks, because she refused to believe it was dad!!
This happened 39 years ago. My dad grew back his beard ( now a goatee), and has kept it since.

I realized I had a problem of this sort when I felt that my cats were being too needy.

The starting work on time one - I used to work in a shop and you had to arrive 15 minutes early, like you said. I arrived 10 minutes early (god forbid) and the manager pulled me into the office to have a disciplinary chat. I said I was clearly ready to work and could go on the shop floor immediately if she needed me to but that my bus had just got caught in traffic. She insisted on pulling up the form etc to fill out. My colleague who finished at my start time then came through saying she needed to leave, and I got the blame. Like, I AM HERE AND READY TO WORK ????

If you’re in the states, it’s illegal for employers to expect you to arrive early for no pay, as long as you’re there on time to start at their start time, which they can set. If you’re still in the same job, look it up, each state is differently, but the premise is still the same. You could have a lawsuit on your hands against your boss, just get a copy of his “write ups”
Interesting point of legal fact. If you are required to be there 25 minutes early, they are required to pay you.
You sounded so much like my daughter with your topics of conversation at a family event. She's 35, unmarried, no kids. By choice. She stopped going to family events because of all the "advice" everyone feels they should give her.
Gone through that, I was and still am single by choice, have no kids and after reaching 40 decided to avoid family get-togethers because it just got to damn boring and exhusting to hear all the BS.😁

I'm that person but older. I just say "women always dump me once they find out I'm a serial killer .... bitches .." It of course is highly inappropriate but it works WELL ... awkward chuckle or two .. then NEVER get bothered about stupid nonsense after. Also "wow you lot talk about boring crap a lot don't you" ... With your family: after you have a kid, they ask "when are you having another" peppered in with parenting advice, in a passive aggressive attempt to shit on your parenting. After your second kid, they move on to telling you that you better not have more kids.
To answer your question: after you have a kid the family asks when you’re having another one but at the same time they criticize your parenting lol

Seriously, my son was not even a day old and my aunt were asking me when was going to have another one 🙄 at that time I said, my dream of been a mother have been fulfilled. Now my son is four years old and their still asking and I just ask them if their going to babysit and give me money to support a second child? After that, in that day they won’t ask again but say that I’m a “malcriada” .
Oh ppl in the family have been saying this since my son was 1.. previously I would simply not say anything but now I tell them to their face that I'm happy with one child and it won't be easy for me to afford to have another. My simple rule is 'if u can't afford to take care of a kid n pay for school n what not then don't have another kid'. It's selfish to put a child through hardships just coz u wanted to have a baby.id rather take good care of the one child I have..

I had a boss that bitched at me for leaving at 4pm every day. I explained that I came in at 7am every morning. She told me that she stays until 6pm. I had to reminder her that she comes in at 9am also. Then I had to explain the math to her. She still did not understand and was pissy to me.

As a mother of 2 children, this is so true. I get "advice" all the time, especially from random people. Also, "Are you going to have any more?" I got asked this 3 months after my first and 5 DAYS after my second!
at my current job, when i first started we had about 6 weeks of training... i work in a call centre and it was mostly learning the system, the products, and conversations etc -- there would be days we'd complete everything early and use the last 30mins for Q&A...which is fine, except when we would have no questions and they would make us wait until dead on the dot to leave... one time we were told to gather our stuff and because we had 2mins left we were made to sit down and wait.
I understand they are paying us until a set time but leaving 5mins early is hardly a crime when everything is done for the day.

At 60 years old, with an adult son still living with me, my family has plenty to harp on me about. "Why can't she keep a husband?" (because I don't need his alcoholic, smelly ass around using me for a punching bag, and he moved on and is torturing wife #5 now).
"Why is her 29 year old son still living at home?" (because my son's schizophrenia became full-blown after a year in the Navy, where he sailed through boot camp with ease and went to A school to learn aviation mechanics before fate and genetics played a cruel trick).
Why do I have nothing to do with the judgmental "christians" in my family who tell me that schizophrenia isn't "real", and the only thing wrong with my son is that I "didn't beat the Devil out of him when he was a small child?

Reminds me for the time I was getting my yearly review at work. We had a new manager and I did not like the review he gave me because he was judging me to stuff that was his responsibility, we do not have the same job or the same work that has to be done each day and he should not say" but you do not have to do the work I do" but without me doing the grunt work I did each day he would not be able to do the more important work. Plus he said I did not show initiative so I was only getting a 2 % raise instead of 3%.... so I guess that half an hour off the clock I worked each morning before any of the rest of my department came in was not me taken initiative.

Boss: Did you finish everything? We don’t leave at 5pm, we leave when we’re done.

Oh Lord, I remember being asked to do something right at quitting time, and I put in for the extra half hour, and then the next day was confronted by both manager and assistant manager and had to change it.... I am self employed from home now..... and this whole labour shortage thing going on now? that is exactly why.
Omg. I was a nurse for years. Never left “on time”. Patients always seemed to fall, vomit, code, - something - right at change of shift. Or doctor finally calls back after you’ve paged him 23 times. On the rare occasions I managed to leave close to “on time” I found myself checking behind me for the next shift saying “you forgot to.....”. 😂 And I once worked at a facility that “allowed “ you to clock in up to 7minutes before actual time (everyone on the floor used 1 time clock and there was quite a few people) but I was spoken to because I clocked in “late “ a couple times - I clocked in like 1 min before clock in or right at clock in time. 😧

The best was my job that expected us to be clocked in, and changed into lab gear and ready at our lab departments within 60 seconds of clocking in. So we were changing and getting ready prior to clocking in to avoid being “late” when we were actually on time. I had to literally explain that was illegal to require any work off the clock. 😒

Leaving 15 minutes after work ended felt illegal at my last job. Boss would bother me throughout the day about taking my breaks but then glare at me as I packed up and make "jokes" about "people running out the door at 5pm."
Except the time she totally flipped the script and aggressively told me to leave when I was trying to finish the newsletter I was supposed to send out the next day (she had continually interruptedme as I tried to work on it). Then accused me of insubordination for saying " I just need to finish this page."

Chinese New Year family visits are exactly like that section on Ripped Jeans.... in fact, small, time-limited businesses have sprung up for these - you can now rent a boyfriend/girlfriend for these visits to the family (in Asia). Strictly just for visits, nothing after. These "businesses" stop once the Chinese New Year period is over. Typical rates are a few hundred bucks a day, to a package deal of a couple of thousand bucks over the entire 15 days that Chinese New Year lasts (varies by country).
So you're family would be watching you have a new boyfriend/girlfriend every year? This is interesting. My family would think I have loose morals.
