I completely relate to your comment on how your cats saved your life. I was also suicidal for years until I adopted Lola my little tabby and she has helped me through so many hard times just by being there when I’m sad. She even pets me when I cry, I think she does it since she’s happy when I pet her so she does the same to make me happy. Cats really are little therapists. :)
Thank you so much for unprivating your videos! My respect for you as a content creator just went up, preserving history is important, and I remember back when these videos were first uploaded. Even if the content didn't age well or there's regret behind it, acknowledging these videos shows growth and I appreciate it. So many UA-camrs hide their old videos, and pretend that everything went smoothly. Having these videos be avaliable to watch again shows the evolution of the channel, which is something that is vulnerable to do. Thank you Shgurr.

I remember a while ago when I was first introduced to this channel, this was one of the first I watched. That comment about how you got interested in cats got me to watch the rest of your videos. I totally get why those videos have been hidden, but the sincerity and honesty that is held in those videos… I’ve never been in that sort of position, but every ounce of me is celebrating alongside you about your growth and improvement. I hope wherever your life takes you, it’s full of happiness and success.
I had a cat named Angel for 18 years. She passed a month before she turned 19 exactly 5 years ago. She really lived up to her name. Sweetest thing ever. She wouldn't jump on your lap but ask permission. If you said no she'd sit beside you instead and put her paw in your lap, look up at you, and smile while closing her eyes. That was only when I was busy with something. Normally I'd let her sit on me.
I'm finally ready to move on though. I'm going to be adopting one named Daniel next week. He gives everyone high fives. Literally will hold his paw up until you put your hand out for him to slap it. He's a real bro cat.

It was relatable though. My cat helped me a lot for years. But when I lost her, her husband, my dog and my bird in only a few years my depression got worse than it ever was. And I still have my other dog but I'm pretty sure she's got a mental disability because she acts really strange, almost bipolar. And I've been begging my parents for a cat for a long time but money is tight and they're hard to take care of. But I'd do anything to get a sweet little furbaby. Sorry for my mini-rant, I'm really not doing well.

@@gummy4658 wasnt my choice. i got emotionally abused when ever i inserted my opinion in anything. my parents dont give my animals proper treatment. i think its better she went to a shelter and gets fed and gets water because my parents aren’t responsible enough to take care of animals. theres no “getting used to” not eating or drinking. and we had her for 2 years before we gave her to a shelter. we wouldnt have gave her to a shelter if she was used to us. and her getting used to being malnourished isnt good. dont make assumptions like u know all the facts when u dont.

So I never had any pets (because my mom was allergic to fur) except then my mom died, and I was super sad and then I saw your videos of your cats! I ended up getting one (like 2 months later) named Dempsey, he’s very social and loves toys with bells, he’s a shorthair and I’m adopting him today! I’ll update once I get him. My mom made sure I grew up around pets so if they’re not in my life it’s awkward, the last pet we got is my pet cat who’s a Persian breed and was born deaf but that doesn’t stop her being Satan spawn and I love her for that. She was from a Facebook post where she was being sold along with her sibling who was already adopted by the time my mom found the post.
The biggest reason we got her was because dog fights were a thing and since she was deaf, people who did dog fights ever see the post their mind may go “free bait for the ring” and she came all the way to my home inside not a carrier, but a BACKPACK. Her name is also unique as it started out as a joke, her name is Tinka which was taken from Tinkerbell. I love her with all my heart and glad she’s part of my family, although she’s loud and likes to cause chaos I wouldn’t change a thing.
We love you shannon, you are super beautyful and strong, i am not just saying this because I'm a fan, but because i know that you have been through so much and were able go through it

If u see them fighting its normal, its like training in case a stranger comes and they can fight back.

I adopted my cat Cookie in 2019, and I love her. She's sweet and sassy, but she has a small problem with getting the zoomies at random throughout the day. She's completely quiet at night, but during the day she'll just randomly start running around and screaming. (Also if she feels like she's being ignored she sits in our big living room window and screams like a toddler to freak out the neighbors)

I often hear these stories where people say that their parents didn't get them a pet. And that maybe sounds weird, but when i was six, we already had a dog and two bunnies. And i wanted a cat. So i was like: "Mom, can we have a cat?" And she didn't answer me and two days later she picks me up from school and we don't drive home. "Mom, do we go shopping?" And she nods. "You wanted a cat. The cat needs a bed." And in the end, we actually got two cats. They later got kittens and we kept almost all of them (i think like five of them?) And yeah. For most kids that wouldn't be helpful but i think, it really helped me as a child being social and learning how to care fore others. I never had real friens, till this day i don't have one and never did. Friends should be a big part of growing up, but i never got to experience this and it left its scars. I'm socially awkward but pets helped me a little with that. When we had to give our dog away, i wasn't okay. We moved twice and my cat (Teddy) got ill and we had to leave her behind as well. A person from the old neighbourhood took her in. We couldn't afford her medication, it was the best for everyone. Many years later we got a dog. Two dogs, actually three but one of them belonged to my sister and she took her dog with her when she moved out. I know have an official emotinonal support dog and Kiera is the best dog i ever knew. Also three months ago i felt really lonely again. Without school it was really hard not getting into depressing thoughts again. So i asked my mother about... Mice. I didn't know where that came from, but for my birthday I got four mice. And i love them.
Thx if you read this all, sometimes i just want to share stories with Others, even if no one reads them. This video just got me thinking.
