Kiryu's monkey mode stance is actually really good, it can take out hordes of enemies within a couple of punches.
I think that's the joke. Anybody who so much as smells Beast style knows it can slaughter a small army

@@TheXell the style shreds by itself. Issue is, when the style gets better with weapons, you begin taking out entire boss health bars with one hit.
@@auhs6240 the flow you get with it is insane, then you run out of items and you may as well ditch it. Of course in regular fights that’s not a problem, as regular people are a lot less in the mood for fighting while under a motorcycle, but Mr. Shakedown can eat the bikes and their wheels, albeit with a few of his many health bars missing.

You're missing the biggest aspect of this game:
That the main characters will deliver bone shattering, blood-gushing beat downs to ordinary citizens in order to teach them a lesson like "Hey, don't yell at your dog, man. That's mean."
And the people will shrug it off like it ain't no thang and usually see the error in their ways.
It's amazing.
You can literally dislocate their shoulders, neck, and throat, throw them back on the pavement, and somehow they will get up and act completely fine.

So I looked into it, the reason Chinese Spider-Man looks different in the Chinese version is because they made him look like his voice actor, who apparently is a popular actor and they wanted to increase sales in that area

Also probably because the current Chinese government has a kinda weird ego thing going on. They even heavily suppress non-Chinese martial arts because, well, more effective martial arts are making their masters look bad.
Kuze, Shibusawa, Awano, Tachibana, Nishitani and Sagawa were all made to look like their own voice actors, so not sure why Lao Gui was done so dirty.

1.) Beast Mode is actually fucking OP. Become monke.
2.) They're only the Five Prostitution Daimyo of OSAKA, not all of Japan.
3.) You DO need to play pool for three hours. To build immersion. That's why they put it in the game.

The true majima experience is to utterly avoid doing anything with him once he hides in kiwami 1 (stopping him from appearing, then much later find him and suddenly his glitched out anywhere system will go into MAXIMUM overdrive. I even encountered all of the RARE RANDOM events with him back to back.

There was nothing more heartbreaking to me than learning that “Kiryu has never killed anyone” was a mistranslated quote that actually meant “Kiryu has never killed anyone, except in self-defense” because the latter sort of makes sense and I hate that.

I played Yakuza 0 just because of this video and I actually cried once and almost cried three times while playing the main story. Just so you know, I almost never cry, so that is a huge compliment to the game.

I love the idea that Kiryu has genuinely never killed anyone, but not for lack of trying. He desperately wants to kill people but somewhere along the line he ended up cursed to have no-one dies by his hands no matter what.
Crashed your car into a busy shop-front? Just so happened everybody was queuing at the till. Caused a helicopter crash? The pilot and all the passengers jumped out and happened to land in someone's pool. Shot someone point blank in the forehead? Ever heard of that guy who survived having a railroad spike jammed through his skull?

Yeah, sounds about right. Spends a ton of money on s*** that doesn't make sense, one of the strongest in the game, but spent so much time enjoying his gains that he became rusty and wasn't as much of a refined fighter as he was earlier in his time.
You didn't even add anything for Shibusawa, but I can just say this now: he is the definition of a min-maxer.
Of all the incredible editing I've seen on this channel, the 24-Hour Cinderella (1:26) might just be my absolute favorite.

@@silverwings9276 Pat of 2BF/Castle Superbeast gave the franchise the biggest signal boost it had ever received back in 2012 or so with a Yakuza 4 playthrough. Legitimately, without that huge explosion of people actually knowing what the fuck it even was, Yakuza 5 would've also gone under the radar, and given that 5 was a miracle localization in the first place, 0 would probably have just not gotten translated at all.

I figure you know it was coming, but Monkey Mode for Kiryu is definitely good. It’s best for allowing you to accidentally pick up items while attacking and see some of all those unique animations
monke mode is my favourite fighting style, maybe because it's easy to be effective by just repeatedly attacking and easy defending.
Beast sucks when you have no weapons, but if you're close to a bike rack it becomes 11/10.
Monke mode is seriously strong when a lot of large items are around
Monke mode is best for crowd control, I've found. And for when you wanna whip out the most unga heat moves imaginable.
Monkey mode + any large object is S tier.
I just realised, there isn't a single frame nor word dedicated to the sheer ridiculousness of the Pocket Circuit Racing minigame and yet the video is still batshit insane regardless.

This editing is the only thing that can actually keep my adhd ridden brain focused for the entire duration of the video
For once, the drugged up crazy injected into our veins isn’t entirely from Maxor, but also from the game.
Also the edits of gameplay with the music is seriously something I could watch all day.
Watching Max0r's videos is already an out of body experience when you have an idea about the game he's talking about, but when you've never even touched the game he's covering you feel like doctor strange when he first met the bald woman
After watching this video, I bought Yakuza 0, spent 5 real world days in the Cabaret side quest, and beat the rest of the game in half that time. I'm not ashamed to say that the post credit scenes made me tear up and smile at the same time, simultaneously tragic and happy is a hard vibe to pull. I'm on Kiwami now, and I intend to finish the series.

Hey Max0r did you know the best way to grind Kiryu's Real Estate thingy is by doing all of your investments at once and then waiting outside and using your phone to play, like, Genshin or whatever for 5 minutes, then going back in to do it all again? It's tedious but it works.
if you want to farm even faster you can try looking for mr shakedown, since you will have already used the money it wont be too risky, but taking a break while farming is good too

@@francismendiola5057 I still haven't gotten past Yakuza 3. I know it's petty to not play because of old graphics and I know I'd enjoy it but it does stop me from starting and there's so much other stuff I want to play.

@@francismendiola5057 there's a hostess management game in 3-5 but it's way rougher than 0's. You can see how it evolves but it's not actually good until 0.
I disagree about beast style; it's very useful when the game forces you to fight a dozen enemies in a confined space.

Looking back on how Maxor plays most games he “reviews” he seems to favor fast attacks over powerful ones so that might be why he doesn’t like Monke Mode

I played through all the Yakuza games and all I’m saying is that this is pretty accurate to all of them

The Beast style of fighting is pretty good it just relies heavily on picking them up then swinging your monkey like body mass at the suited pickles till they're fully disable and or have a skull that inverted itself
Yeah, this video leaves out just how cathartic owning someone with a motor scooter finisher is.

I respect how he really puts a full month of editing into every one of these videos. The first 2 minutes alone would take most editors a solid week.
This was the final push to pick it up. Even though the vid warned of spoilers I do not feel spoiled. The quick cuts have just made me wonder about what happens to get to those points. Hell I found surprises in the first couple of chapters. Also just a banger video in its own right
Your style and writing just keeps getting better, I love how you're starting to weave your genuine personal opinion/experience into the comedy and explanation, it really adds to the rewatchability and overall quality.
