- Bloons is full of very strong strategies, combos, and tools, but Geraldo's pickles are the most disrespected tool/combo that I have ever seen. It is probably because everything in his shop is OP, but pickles are incredibly strong and need to be used more.

I think that triple shot is more disrespected, and it combos with pickles really nicely. alone is a cheap early game defense

A 2-0-3 tack shooter with pickles can kill a tier 1 vortex.

pickles also benefits alchemists, because if the tower they're buffing shoots slower, the alchemist can keep up better

@@unkowndummy3334 nah since the tower will shoot slower, the brew uptime will be higher since alch has to throw less

@@unkowndummy3334 less effective, but also means better uptime plus the tower, in most cases, is still stronger with alch and pickles than with just alch
Bonus: HIMSELF. Geraldo gets the effects of his own buffs on any “tower” type item in effect (in other words, shooty towers, genies, and creepy idols get jar of pickles effects)
Referring to this buff as “pickling” towers made me laugh so hard
I refer to pickled towers as being “picked up”

i like to refer it as the jar of 'distusting' cuz who really likes to eat pickles
probably important to note is that attack speed buffs multiplicatively on sentry gunners since both the sentries' fire rate and the drop rate of the sentries are affected so the functional buff from pickles is probably a lot lower than 60% for that one

@@chewtag whether or not you use caltrops is completely dependent on the person. There isn’t a real right answer to if you should use caltrops, so please don’t go around correcting people when they say 4-0-1 or something like that.

@@PorygonToast well it only increases the damage output of the ninja, for a low cost. But in chimps mode you may prefer to save that $400 for something else that could do better but in almost any case 402 > 401

0-3-2 super monkey can also be a good combo with pickle and sharpening stone for increased damage and pierce for a tower that can stall moab tier bloons (exept BAD's)
Remember that lower attack speed means an alch buff will stay on for longer

I'm beating CHIMPS on Rake- a map I've been struggling on for WEEKS with the goal of doing it with druids, and now that I'm using Geraldo all the struggles went away, the camo's a big help but Blade Trap's the gold mine, automatically clearing the trouble rounds and even being an infinitely sustained backup roadspikes is god tier

The Pickles are mostly misunderstood, because players look at the attack speed decrease and instantly dislike it, no matter what it is, not to mention then you'd need to do some math and research to see the optimal uses for them.
But it's certainly worth it.

1-0-0 heli has 4 projectiles that deal 1 damage, so it’s very good combined with pickles. You can also use this to build into Apache.

I dunno if you guys have tried it but 2x 2-0-3 aces and 1x 4-0-2 heli, all w/ pickles and upgraded sharpening stone + a 4-0-2 alch demolishes the field long enough for you to save for apache prime. Point is, I've been a huge fan of pickles and I think it is one of the strongest tools in Geraldo's arsenal.
on round 98, with fully upgraded pickles, a sun avatar can get 3x as many pops as normal thanka to the bonus fortified damage. geraldo+savatar can almost solo to r100 they're that op

A caped Sun Avatar buffed to heck with Alchs and Geraldo got me to like 90 in a co op game on an advanced map once my partner was like “holy crap what”
Overdrive and Tackzone is one of the best with pickles

One tower that helped me beat scrapyard chimps was spirit of the forest+pickle Juice +sharpstone.
PS. Could you do a simular video with towers that are best with sharpstone
Buffing Geraldo is also good, his turrets all get it, so definitely worth the low cost.

a 2-4-0 mortar can be so goood with it too because of huge pierce somewhat high attackspeed and layer skip on mortars is always good had great succes normal bloons get shredded

yo Hbomb you should make a video of an insane combo i discovered, permabrew + support chinook. the permabrew buff stays on towers even when you move the alchemist so you can legit give every monkey more power

Hey, Hbomb, is there any math on the Necro/PoD with pickles? I always found it a complicated subject because there’s more to it than just dps, as there is also graveyard management involved(slower attacks actually benefits it because then it uses up less graveyard and allows bloons to get closer, giving the necro more pops in its collection radius).

From what i remember of the AP darts stats
Against bloons, yes, as it only does 1 damage at base (i think)
Against ceramics, no idea, can't remember if it does bonus damage or not
Against MOABs, don't think so. Pretty certain they have more than 3 bonus damage against MOABs, and if you stick an alch buff on them as you normally would it's definitely no.
It suffers the same issue that Comanche commander does, the bonus damage to certain Bloons makes it worse. AP darts increase damage to ceramics, moabs and fortifieds which is all you really see lategame. It might overall have a 5-10% buff but don't use it lategame because it will most likely lose popping power to fortified Moab classes.
@@Santisima_Trinidad ap darts deals 2 damage, with the airburst dealing 1 each. On moabs, the damage doubles to 4 and 2. So no, not worth on ap darts

If overdrive gets a good boost from pickles, does the tack zone benefit from them? Beause it shoots lots of low damage tacks (idk what is the exact dmg per tack)
A tower with 4 dmg with pickles = a tower with 4 dmg
A tower with 5 dmg with pickles < a tower with 5 dmg
A tower with 3 dmg or lower with picke > a tower with 3 dmg
Basically get pickle if ur tower does 3 dmg or lower

I’d actually advise against pickling spike storm since the spikes each do 5 blimp damage, resulting in a 4% decrease in single-target dps. Sharpening stone, on the other hand, is great and gives a 44% dps increase if 042 and a 32% dps increase if 140.
Where is Tack Zone on this list? It benefits heavily from Pickles even with an alch (single target). On a base TZ it seems to have roughly a 48% increase in dps, with a 301 alch buff it has a 45% increase, with a 401 alch buff it has a 39% increase and with a P-brew it has a 50% increase in dps. (Test on Fortified Bad on monkey meadow) Tz No Buffs ~ 13k | Tz w/ 301 Alch ~ 19k | Tz w/ 401 Alch ~ 22k | Tz w/ Pickles ~ 25k | Tz w/ p-brew ~ 30k | Tz w/ 301 Alch + Pickles ~34.6k | Tz w/ 401 Alch + Pickles ~35.5k | Tz w/ p-brew + Pickles ~ 40k

@@tactical_tack-milkguner- that is what i do for moab classes, trust me its better than embrittlement. it may struggle with fortified DDTs though because fortified DDTs are unkillable
