- $20 Bill (for George Floyd)
Some people die for honor
Some people die for love
Some people die while singing
To the heavens above
Some people die believing
In the cross on Calvary hill
And some people die
In the blink of an eye
For a $20 bill
Some people go out in glory
(Yeah) with the wind at their back
Some get to tell their own story
Write their own epitaph
Sometimes you see it coming
Sometimes you don’t know until
You run out of breath
With a knee on your neck
For a $20 bill
O Brother I never knew you
And now I never will
But I make this promise to you
I’ll remember you still
So now let this be our communion
(Take eat, this is the body)
it’s time to break the bread
Do this in remembrance
Just like the good book said
Sometimes the wine is a sacrament
Sometimes the blood is just spilled
Sometimes the law
Is is the devil’s last straw
The future unfulfilled
Like the dream they killed
For a $20 bill

A powerful song from an amazing musician. Rest In Peace Tom! We all miss you my friend....🙏🏾❤️
How many times have I now heard this song and yet I’m still blown away by its brilliance.
Yes!
Thank you Tom. I was listening today and playing along with my guitar and crying as my heart continues to break for America and for these Americans who deserve better than this. We remember you Ahmaud, and George and Breonna.
A wonderful, wonderful song Tom. Thank you!
So many songs written about this tragedy, but this is the one I will always remember
Breathtaking Tom, just too beautiful. Thank you so much. Saw and heard you perform this on the Mary Gauthier live stream and was so touched by the sentiment. Your words are epic. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you Tom for your beautiful music and thank you cousin Mike McM. for introducing me to Tom’s music! What a talented & wonderful person!

Most Sincerely, Neal Braverman, Boston, Ma. 🙏🏾💫☮️🌈
I remember when you first wrote the song and I cried. Now I’m watching the Chauvin trial and I’m crying again. Thank you for this song.
Brilliant.....And Beautiful.....Thank you. PS. Just watching this now ....(NOV 2021)......back tracked and found
the song "dancing on the ledge", and found this entire album now on Spotify.....WOW. what a great crew. Also,
brilliant that you are playing a Tenor guitar.....the lyrics and melody are strong. Thank you so much for this. Powerful and
beautiful at the same time. x
Long live this song. I still find myself revisiting it again and again. Much to be sad about in this world, and much to be hopeful for too. Let's resolve to make this a past we can acknowledge with regret and determination to transform. Thanks, Tom, for sharing. I don't know how you can get through singing this without breaking into sobs. I can't, and I'm an old white guy.... even after 9 months.
Listening again after watching the opening statements in the Chauvin trial. No justice, no peace. 😥
Rest in Peace, Tom
Magnificent and deeply moving. Thank you, Tom and the Fox Run Five.
This is a gift! Thank you all!
Let us HEAR this! Let us keep hearing this - this message - from a man I've long counted as a dear friend and whom I respect as I do few others. Bless you Tom and our friends who helped you produce the powerful video. May history find your song, your message, alongside a record of real change in our land that is so long overdue.
Beautiful notes and deep pain. Say their names.
A perfect and powerful song, and an amazing production. Everyone should hear this song.
He is an excellent songwriter. He captures the essence of issues.

Brilliant, a classic now..... Tears....
This needs to be shared far and wide...it brings the truth home the special way that only a brilliantly written and performed song can. Peace and love to all involved in bringing this to us.
So beautiful!! I am proud to know you Tom. Using your talent in this way is just so awesome!

This song has truly touched my soul...Thank you Tom!!!
Beautiful. Powerful. Important.
Powerful. Love y’all and appreciate how you’ve brought this song and message to life. Feel good TPR
Just shared this with a local pastor who had somehow thought it appropriate to share a starkly, darkly totally different kind of performance by young black "conservative" who does not deserve to be named
Beautiful
Deep ♥️
One of the most powerfully emotional songs ever
Sooo moving! I can't say enough about the emotion this song generates. Thank you for continuing to be our conscious and raising our sensitivity through the art of music.

Derek Chauvin has been convicted, but we still wait for justice for Breanna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Botham Jean and hundreds of others. And just this week there were more police murders. I am determined to never forget and to continue being angry and hopeful.
Black lives still matter and they always will. This beautiful song by Tom Prasada-Rao (which I listen to on repeat) keeps me angry and hopeful all the time. Bless the musicians who move us so deeply.
In the words of George Floyd's daughter "my Daddy changed the world." Let's #say their names.
