The story they have built from HD1 to HD2 has been an awesome journey. I still log onto the first game to play with my wife and son to teach them about Super Earth lmao.
the reason why robots are often humanoid and most likely why automatons ended up that way is very simple - compatibility. Humanoid robots can use tools, vehicles and buildings designed for use by humans. With automatons it is most likely a legacy thing - Cyborgs had so much invested in development and manufacturing of human-compatible devices that they kept the humanoid design over remaking everything to be single purpose. It also allows them to use SEAF equipment and buildings, which would allow them to disable artillery, SAM etc. For example stairs are much easier to climb for a humanoid robot than a track/wheel driven one.
So, the automaton logo tidbit led to a thought about H2 having a sub-faction system like in waframe. Maybe cyborgs join in the fight once more, but as a separate faction because they are too different from the automatons ideologically
@@krzakijegogoebie3599 its pretty much just do nothing and get a free set of armour and old gun from HD1 you can call me wrong if something does happen but i really feel like their just being lazy on this one.
@@BERSRRKmaybe next year will be better, they are quite busy trying to patch the game because of all the complaints and the 60 day plan that just ended
I'm gonna assume the reason the Automatons chant is not because they have a brain in them but because it was just done by the cyborgs because they wanted them to. The Automatons are their children, their creation. They are made in their image, so why wouldn't they have similarities? They repeat the messages of their creators: blood and steel.
As someone who dosent own either game. I love watching these mega lore videos for franchises that I find interesting but not enough to spend money on. Great video quality.
I think the bugs actually may have Sexual Trimorphism. Hunters are more of a yellow colour, and there are also yellow scavangers that can leap with small wings. So Orange evolves into Chargers Green evolves into Bile Titans Yellow evolves into Stalker This would be similar to bees. The queen is female, the drone is male, and workers are sterile.
If the bots do have human brains, they will either need human hearts and lungs, or mechanical ones. Mechanical ones would probably be more reliable and easy to repair or replace. The brain needs oxogen from the blood. The rest of the robot requires oil to function.
That is something I didn't consider. They would need some way to get oxygen into the brain. I guess they could have some kind of artificial bubbler kind of how fish tanks have bubblers to get oxygen into the water.
I like the idea of the clankers being run off of human brains They die immediately from headshots, which wouldn't quite make sense from a robotics perspective as there would be a backup CPU within the chest of the robot.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!! I always wanted to make a "complete" lore video, but wanted to make sure I did it right. This type of combo video felt like the best way to do it.
Good vid but note about the automatons, it would be completely reasonable to say that they both are controlled by human brains but also that they do the whole human chopping thing because it does instill fear. It would be completely useful to instill fear in the enemy in warfare, and with the automatons not having a moral compass, and likely having enough AI to see the butchering thing as a psyops win without loss, it would be reasonable for them to do that.

My theory on the weird breeding decisions for the bugs that resulted in the current warriors and other more spindly variants in HD2: Super Earth wanted to breed weapons. Theres ants that adapt a self destruct mechanism to defend the hive, some spit acid (spewer variants), some get large flat heads to cover the entrances of the nest (hive guards). The male scavenger can then evolve into the orange nursing spewer, which would protect eggs after birth, while the female green spewer lays the eggs. If the nest is low on males, the green spewers can change into the green warriors to bolster defense. Back to the scavenger, it would also be able to adapt to become the male warrior, which grows to the brood commander and alpha commanders, as a more offensive role, while it would change to become a hive guard, which grows to chargers and impalers, as a defensive role. the baby hunter obviously becomes the hunter, shrieker, and stalker, and the oldest green spewers grow to bile titans.
