I agree with the uncomfortable part, but man what a motorcycle it is. Fantastic. I would personally take it over any Bajaj/KTM anyday. Also, I hope people stop talking about cooling as if it is a feature. Not all bikes produce the same amount of heat and not all bikes require liquid cooling.

It's little long..but worth the read:
First of all let me tell you that this is a bike you won't repent buying.I have been using the Gixxer 250 naked Matt black since the past 2 years and had no problem whatsoever.This definitely turns heads on the street as this is built bigger than 150 as it has best in segment tires which are 110 and 150,so it needs a bigger swingarm to accomodate and thus looks compact yet bulky.Coming to the engine,this is perhaps one of the most tried and tested engine along with the Honda's CBR as it shares the same engine with the legendary GSX R 250.This is the only bike in the Suzuki India lineup that uses SOCS technology,a state of the art cooling technology that Suzuki uses in its superbikes as well,and is way better and advanced that most of the liquid cooling used in other bikes and with very low maintenance as it uses the bikes own oil to cool.There is no heating whatsoever even after long hours of riding unlike the Duke 250 which still has a lot of heating issue even with the BS 6 update.Exhaust sound is very bassy and soothing to the ear,you will feel more so when you rev past 4000rpm(26.5 Ps power 22.2 Nm torque),then the motor springs to life and you will enjoy every bit of the ride as this an extremely flickable motorcycle as well, throttle response is crisp and power delivery is very very linear.You will love this motorcycle for sure.Returns a decent mileage of 38kmpl which is ok for me.Braking is spot on as well.

How's the Suzuki service?
Suzuki are the pioneers in complete oil cooling systems (Not air-oil cooled like the RTR 2004v for example). This engine is specifically made to suit Indian riding conditions. Suzuki's endeavour was to make a simple to maintain, high on practicality bike and the gixxer 250 fits the bill perfectly. Also, Suzuki's service is the cheapest in the segment although it goes to service 1000 km earlier than the Dominar. The compression ratio on this bike is also a really good 10:7:1 (Makes for a less stressed and torquey engine) and it also has the biggest disk rotor in segment. The rake angle is 24 degrees which aids in better handling! These are a few points which you can cover in your reviews instead of harping on the quality of the switch gear.
Yeah bro. SOCS is wonderful, but our Indian bikers just think all oil coolings are the same and liquid cooling is always better, without even understanding the technical details. This is made worse by some random UA-camrs throwing half baked information, just to make and publish videos, and thereby confusing general population.
The second major problem we have is the fanboy culture. Instead of appreciating good products irrespective of the brand, we have fanboys of every brand, who wouldn't care about any other brand.
Sometimes I hope our Indian biker community get more aware, informed and educated about bikes.

@@phabove7 True. I feel it is also our duty to spread the right information when we have it as a lack of proper info can influence the buyer the wrong way. In fact, I have seen quite a few reviews of this bike but upto now only 2 are worth mentioning---See the channel infobikescars (from mizoram---this person has fantastic knowledge on bikes in general and does detailed reviews) and Syed shiraz (He has dedicated videos on the Gixxer 250. The details which I mentioned in my previous comment was something that I read from his write up about this bike---Refer to the website bikeadvice.in

Dominars are highway specialists.. Gixxer is an all-rounder..
Your right in saying it is a Budget Duke250.. Infact the Suzuki packs more in terms of better low end performance with higher top speed too!.. So the Gixxer250 has the most brilliant engine in its class in real..

Yes! This is the video that I'm waiting for. Unfortunately one is reviewing about Suzuki Gixxer 250 naked version. Congrats bro. This is the most underrated bike in India. Even Suzuki didn't promote the same.
Gixer is best instrument cluster .. good power ... Wider tyres. . and important Suzuki's.. refinement fit and finish gives premium feel .. best in segment

And since you brought up Duke 250 in the end let me tell you that I have ridden both bikes and find this way more refined and torquey (Specially at the lower end which the duke sorely misses).

Bro, SOCS is way better than Liquid cooling system on Dominar.
It is not just an oil cooler like on pulsar 220 or apache, it is a full fledged system.
SOHC stands for Single Over Head Camshaft and DOHC stands for Dual Over Head Camshaft. Every engine is designed according for a specific purpose. A valve train should be light so that it does not possess a lot of rotational inertia. Also, a heavier valve train means that more power will be required to open and close the valve mechanism, which eats into the share of usable power, hence also affecting fuel efficiency.
In the DOHC design, both camshafts are situated in the cylinder head. As is obvious, implementing a 4 valve design is easier with the DOHC setup. Most engines with the DOHC setup are known to rev higher than their equivalent SOHC designs. This also allows a much more optimized valve setup, thus improving performance. DOHC engines have lesser torque just off the line due to their bulk but higher up the rev ranges, this becomes an advantage as they have greater peak torque as well as horsepower.
Advantages Of SOHC Setup
1) Light in weight.
2) Better acceleration.
3) Lower cost and compact size.
4) fuel economy is great since major torque and power is produced from low to mid range rpms..
Advantages Of DOHC Setup
1) More precise valve timing, tech like vvt can be implemented.
2) Greater performance at high end, better top end torque and increased power
3) increased volumetric effeciency, better air flow.
Now sohc or dohc .. it is a personal choice....
Still being a sohc, but giving same output as a dohc engine...🔥...
Some motogp elements like
Valves rocker,arms (shim type), retainers ,
printed piston skirts is helping to reduce frictional loss in piston itself
Cooper grip treatment on the cylinder has imporved heat transfer, cooling performance and durablity.
Socs too perform it's task very well... Overall a good machine 🏍️
Even power to weight ratio is better in Gixxer... Since now hp peaks much higher... It has bigger power band...

Would prefer Gixxer 250 over Dominar anyday and every bike doesn't need liquid cooling system it depends on the engine compression ratio
Compression ratio of the gixxer is 10:7:1! I have ridden this bike for an entire day and felt little to zero heating (As can be normally expected given our climate and in the city!)
One of the rare reviewers who doesn't hate stiff suspension. I can ride all day on stiff susoension, I just love stiffer suspension.

Guys, the bikes available for test drive have disconnected speedometers. They are meant only to test drive and put on display at showroom. Usme koi kuch nahi kar sakta. Har company yahi karti hain

He is the owner of a KTM machine. The break plates and setup on it is top notch with splendid initial bite. That's the reason why he feels other breaks not that punchy.....like a spongy feel, takes it's time to stop the bike.

Been a year owing gixxer 250 and it is still such fun to ride. Also the peace of mind japanese engines give you is unmatchable. Just one thing i would like to correct in your vedio is you said it multiple times that dominar's liquid cooling is better then suzuki's oil-air cooling which is not the case. Suzuki's oil-air cooling works like a charm.

I am a new rider as well, learned how to ride a bike 2 weeks before buying the dominar.. as a new rider, i can say that i rely substantially on the gauges to understand the speed i am in.. a gear position indicator can help, especially when someone gets confused in traffic.. it happened with me a few times..
Veteran riders can understand the speed by perspective of the road, on coming vehicles, signs and all.. u too will develop that sense brother, dont worry..
Ride safe though.. this baby dom has crazy pull.. although very good bike. By no means i regret my purchase.

I think UA-camrs really need to research some more before saying things like liquid cooling is better than the oil cooling provided on this motorcycle. Suzuki ke engineers aise hi Suzuki ke engineers Nahi bane hai. And that too a patented SOCS tech. So in order for it to be patented it needs to have something unique.

The price is a factor. The spec sheets suggest that this bike should be priced at 1.40 lacs at most. 1.6 lacs for a bike, which has kind of 2010 standard specs. But, this might be done to reduce weight maybe. I think if they have upgraded the switches, added slipper clutch, did a design upgrade to the headlamp, this bike would be a killer in the segment.
what about fz 25 1.75 lacs on road for bs-6....for just 20 bhp which is 7 bhp less than gixxer

Suzuki aftersales service is good, but parts availability is pathetic. No aftermarket parts available and local mechanics and vendors rarely keep Suzuki motorcycle parts. If you're living in Delhi, Bangalore or some tier 1 city, you can go for this bike. Buying this bike in a small city will only give you nightmares when it comes to service if a part goes bad.
Bhai mere paas koy bike nhi hai or pahli bar ye bike kharid raha hu to mujhe thoda jankari chahiye tha ki jab bike me oil 1 ya 2 ltr. Bacha hota hai to kaise pta chalta hai kyun ki ye bike to fi h or isme kamse 2 ltr petrol hona chahiye to kaise pta chalega kitna petrol bacha hua h . Help me
Bro...in video 480p giving ghost effect...its me or there is problem in video...it is not up to 480p mark quality...as we r stuck on mobile that res...pls check video quality...and one suggestion pls give one extra feature detailed info like apaches glide through traffice...this bikes oil cooled system...so it ll differentiate every video from each other...and review becoming same pattern...pls do something different pls...hope u understand...great videos as usual
The 480p restriction has been lifted since 2 weeks
Yash Amin its not working on my phone...max res is 480...thats not problem...it video clearity on 480p...ghost effects on 480p is not that common...

@John Michaels Gixxer 250 is best allrounder , Dominar 400 for touring power not good for daily commute, MT15 for daily use & very good mileage....do take your wife/gf to test pillion seat
