Fact: no-one can be selfless without being selfish. No matter how much you give away you will always keep something for yourself. You can't stop people being selfish. Define 'good'. Some would say that the economic crisis was a good thing because, for some reason unknown to me, they think money is bad and makes people greedy. Some would say the opposite.
