I watched this doc because first I love De La and secondly the passing of Trugoy. And I got to say I feel a little better after watching it. It got ROUGH in the middle listening to Plug 2 talk about his mortality….but by the end I can say he gave his LIFE to this thing we call Hip Hop.
Rest in PARADISE King!
When your career has span almost 30 years and you're still dropping relevant albums you are the definition of hip-hop. De La Soul means From The Soul. Don't ever forget how important these guys are to not only a culture, but society as a whole.
These Guys Gotta be the Most Humble, down To earth, Overstanding, Coolest Hip Hop Group EVER
THEY ARE! salute
I must say, I was lucky enough to meet and hang with Plug2 and Maseo separately, on different occasions, and it’s amazing the amount of coolness and humility they possess. You’d never sense they were the game changing innovators that they are, from their demeanor and attitude.
Rip Dave Aka Trugoy the Dove. Respect✊🏽
… Hence why they never broke up 💯❤️
I can't like this enough. Thank you De La Soul! I only had $20 in my account this week, I spent half of it on your album. No regrets.
fuck you 2sacks, someone is saying something positive and you just gotta come in with this shit
That's a good thing you did, dude! Fuck what anybody else thinks. You won't be thinkin' about them when you're chillin' listening to your passion.
Yo man, some people suck, but not everyone. I got you...finding you offline.
+2sacks1 or maybe hes got 20 in his account as he has a job but had to spend the rest on bills
2sacks1: I've come to learn that people who spend time bashing others (whether it be online or not) are typically lacking something that gives their lives meaning. I'm sorry that you feel the need to be hurtful; whether it's because it makes you feel better about your plight, or whether it's from pure anger and hatred. As disappointed as I was when I first read your post, I realized that I don't know what your life is like, and so I should try to reserve judgement. All I can offer are my condolences. I don't know Ernie Manning, but there's something amazing about someone who loves something so much that he's willing to spend half of what he has left to support.
This is the most unified and consistent rap group of our time. Steady drums Dela.. long live Dela!
Love De La Soul. 27 years.. can't believe it. Still think back to the first time I heard them on the school bus - would have been 13.
👍👍
De La Soul's music was the soundtrack to some of the best memories of my life! Hip hop in its truest form. Respect.
I was riding by in a cab last week in Nyc. Saw Pos. I yelled Plug 1 n he ran over n gave me Dap! This is the Third time I met him. Respect to the Original Plugs 1,2 & 3!
A reminder why De La Soul is one of the most; if not the most, innovative, down to earth, real life rap group ever. Rest in peace, Dave „Trugoy the Dove“
3ft High...... and still rising. Great album.... best Hip Hop Group! Thank you De La Soul for both anchoring and elevating Hip Hop.
I remember the 1st De La Show in Brazil, in 99. And the energy, the quality and the simplicity stills the same. They’re above modes and fads.
I caught them live in 96' in San Diego CA at a college show one of the dopest concerts I ever been to 🔥
De La got old in hiphop. Our lives went along with yours; from party and optimistic 20s to being grown and family concerns and baring your soul and being dope all the while. I appreciate this album, and was proud to support.
was bumping this joint on my way to work this morning. crazy to think De La been dropping quality album after quality album for THIRTY years. the rollout, singles, promo.... everything was perfect for this album. thanks guys.
Timeless music one of the greatest trios all time no matter what genre of music 🔥
Unreal. Thank you De La Soul for everything that you do to inspire every generation, and to push the boundaries.
im 33 and my older brother made sure i knew who you guys were/are. I cant go a week without listening to you first and foremost. From my soul, thank you!
To hear Dave speak about life and death during that time makes me feel like there is a higher being that connects the universe to your purpose in life. Thank you De La for being that group of my youth and now; 52 years young. Amen
It's nice to see Howard and Brandon, after getting all these Kickstarter emails from them.
Rest in Peace Dave. Thank you for everything. 😢
The people always has your back De la!!!
To this very day "Freedom of Speech" is still my fav
record. Pos, Dave, Mase and Paul....I love you guys.
I always felt like I should have been the 5th Plug, no bullshit.
Native Tongues Forever.
Who’s Plug 4?
Professor Prince Paul? 🌼
yoooo! Moseley Jazz Festival in the intro! I was there!!!! thank you guys!
De La Soul, Hip Hop Is Our Life! Keep It Goin Til The Wheels Falls Off! Peace and Love Brothers.
I'm glad I was part of this project. Been listening from the beginning. By the way, the cd from the Kickstarter campaign arrived in the mail today.
R. I. P. Dave you are truly missed 🙏🏾
I love you guys!!THANKS to be Part of this World!!
Mad I missed out on the Kickstarter, happy I got the record and watched this documentary, loving the entire album! Thank you very much Gents.. De La Soul is a class act!
Best. Hip-Hop Group. Ever. I have every album. Can't wait to cop this one.
damn, this was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. thank you gents. for almost 30 years of beauty and realness.
Proud to have been part of this.
Please keep making music, and keep asking us to help you finance it. :)
The old system is broken....
I once saw them live when I was 21 in whistler Canada. I went around the back and shouted to them to ask for a photo, they said to just come around back stage to take it properly. I then proceeded to go back stage and awkwardly take some photos and talk to them all. They were so damn humble and friendly, in particular Pos who gave the time just to chat to a random family after playing a huge set. I probably hung out for a little too long savouring the opportunity but they just showed nothing but love and appreciation.
That experience ignited my passion for making music and I am so appreciative of these guys.
Rest in peace Dave, we love you and shout out to De La Soul the GOAT. 🔥✌🏽
What? Some realness and truth in today's Hip-Hop? Thank you! Been rocking you since the days of cassettes. Please keep on keeping it real! Hip-Hop is DEAD! Long Live Hip-Hop!!
Man, my whole childhood consisted of a soundtrack these bruthas have consistently been a part of... and they still sound fresh. Imagine that..
I'm De La To the Def! Even if they Break up! De la means so much to the culture and I say in 2022 we should honor them and the Entire Native Tongue Collective Each year!!!
This is an awesome documentary. I came of age in the late 80's, and De La Soul was the like the rescue breath in cpr to #HipHop. #StillAFan
Love You De La............................
Worth the wait. Love to see artist care about what they put out, I'm grateful.
My boys still doing my shit - this and A Tribe Called Quest - only Native Tongues can come out with new music and it not sound OLD and dated. Unless I'm that old dude still buying Paul Simon albums but I'm with the Anonymous Nobody lol
Great film , grt album. Love that you still making fresh new stuff.
The full body and depth of De La Soul’s catalogue and legacy is completely
AMAZING! #greatwork
Thank you De La. You have been and continue to be a huge part of the soundtrack to our lives.
I really enjoy this documentary film! De La Soul is true music legends in Hip Hop. I am going to purchase their new album, "And The Anonymous Nobody."
Salute to y'all, I've always appreciated the wit, intellect, creativity and delivery! El
day 5 of constant rotation...without a stop in sight! thanks for this breath of fresh air!
love the labum!
This is a very beautiful, artwork, concept and LP!!! Thank you Pos, Dave and Mase for continuing to put out great music!!!
One of the best documentaries i have seen. I've been down with De la since the 3ft high album and am still riding with these men. I'm 43 now and hip-hop is dead, but with De La and ATCQ and other groups from the golden era it still lives.
Thanks guys, I have loved your music since I was a kid. I realize now that you guys are barely older than I am! CRAZY!
Keep it up, your fans appreciate it!
Thank you for the album!
Fuckin right, these cats are the definition of true hip hop, music for mankind, gotta love em. ; ) #RESPECT
Awesome! That new album is incredible!! Funny how this generation of "music" fans are quick to say older rappers are washed up etc, when De La Soul proved them wrong by releasing one of the best albums to come out in a while! This is real MUSIC... Respect to De La Soul & thank you for being a great influence/inspiration!
-Paint The Sky,Blew!!!
I am a 48 year old fan, and I was there when hip hop began, what captured my ears about DeLa-soul, was their incredible rythmic grooves and production of mase and Prince Paul. Dela always captured the ears first. That image that they put out was only a reflection of where they are from. As they have proven,... Hip-hop is not just a "hood" thing . DeLa was the living embodiment of the evolution of the most expressive, dynamic, and powerful genre of music in the 20th century. Period.
Marvin Tidwell Very well said family... I totally agree. Much respect!
Ageism is a thing in Hip Hop. Hopefully it slowly dies.
man Dave ! here n after ! journey well sir well! 2023😢
True Art form...raw and original. This is Hip Hop!! Royalty!! 🙌❤❣
I'm so happy!
Class is Permanent. A Different Breed Indeed.
Long live De La Soul
The best and worst periods of my time spent some years in NY, music of yours were always there. I am happy to be able to contribute even a little to your creation. I will see you guys in Tokyo Billboard!

The passage of time makes me even more glad/proud I chipped in on that Kickstarter project; I was happy to contribute to the attempt, the end result was outstanding!
[Edit: rewatching Dave share his thoughts about the meaning of We Still Here (Now) = 😢]
I listened to all the tracks but as soon as I got to this(Exodus) track; Mind fucking blown...."with an outro that's also an intro For the east, and the west, and the central" - #DeLaSoul #AnonymousNobody Thank you so much for dropping this album!!
Will always be grateful to the memories and music De La has given to hip-hop. De La was the first to put @OfficialCampLo on tour. Congrats to the Plugs on the new album and continued success. - #Legendary

Beautiful work very proud of you guys. I'm 20 years old but I've been an old school funk fan since I was very young so this is amazing to see you guys back considering the trash that's out today. Thank you and I pray you get your catalog released soon!
TBH I lost all faith in HipHop but this album has restored my faith for the time being, but the reality is I have been pumping DeLa for 30 years now and along with ATCQ its usually the first albums i transfer over to any new device i buy.
Thank you DeLa for another classic.
"...or whom ever it is. It doesn't have to be a Name, just someone talented who makes it work."
*Respect*
Powerful.
Top 3 favorite groups of all time.
Such a high level of RESPECT & ADMIRATION for you guys. Been rocking with De La since the very beginning. Along the way, I've enjoyed witnessing the growth and creative evolution. Never being afraid to break new ground sonically. Always uniquely DE LA throughout. I look forward to many more QUALITY projects in the future. DE LA SOUL (From the SOUL). Peace...Netm8kr
