I am getting emotional seeing De La Soul and LL, this is living history. Listening to De La Soul in college helped me so much, listening to LL in high school as an awkward high school kid, man I could lose myself in those rhymes and breaks. What an era, peace to Dave Rest in Power !!!
I've been a De La fan for a long time. I appreciate LL pushing out details that I've never heard. Listen to De La Soul's Albums, mixtapes, EPs, Loosies. There's so much out there. "It's that laughing again...who's there?"
Grew up on De La Soul & LL Cool J's music since I was around 12/13 (thanks to my older brother) I'm almost 43 now, and it's amazing I'm still able to follow their career. Much RESPECT Greetings from the Netherlands 👍
I'm 45. Instantly fell in love with hip hop at age 6 with Run DMC. Being from Atlanta u had to get music from your New York cousins or whatever. Then V103 got The Fresh Party every Friday night from 10 to 12. And Arnell Star had a video show on channel 69 called Planet Rock. I think that was the name. My mom bought me a yellow and red 'My First Sony'. I used my ten bucks I got from my mom to buy three singles with my first purchase being "Why You Buggin" by DMC. Shout to all types of hip hop ever created, from 1970s Mc'ing to Drill today.
I grew up in New York when we were the only city rapping. i remember my cousins used to come up from Virginia and I take them to the park to see the DJ’s cutting and scratching because back then the DJ had to power but now it’s Rapper but I used to take cassettes to those guys in the South so they can here all the rap music they couldn’t get don’t there.
I said..you..talk show.. you..talk show.. you.. until I NEEDED A DRINK!! I am so blessed that GOD LOVES LL COOL J. Vibrate the concrete.. ALL DAY. ELOHE°IMIN. for TRUGOY. DE LA SOUL IZ FREE. SHALOM ✌️😔🙏👑♾️🎯🔯
LL is an incredible interviewer, invested and engaged in the subjects. His technique is like a freestyle, hia questions flow with De La's answers. BTW, love that Post loved comic books too!
After a lifetime of being a super star MC and actor it's wonderful to see L.L. just be a fan and bug out on some Hip Hop shit. And he has knowledge and love it
Alot of people love music, but some of us love it ( or are obsessed with it) so much, that we have to either make it as a hobby or in a profession. Or others pursue the history of it, or the journalism of it, or other areas of focus on the art form 🤷♂️
Agreed I made beats I can write, and freestyle But I'm definitely not a artists. I just love Hip Hop Even did graffiti back in the day Unfortunately I was never able to breakdance 😅
Dope interview LL! Much respect @38:52 King. They're still healing and need that space and are probably using all of these interviews to deal with that pain at the same time. This interview was perfection in giving them their flowers.
LL knows hip hop culture, this is good look for his rock the bells brand. He needs to interveiw more rap legends like KRS One,Rakim,Kool G Rap,Ice Cube,Scarface,Queen Latifah,MC Lyte,Yo Yo from Golden Era Of Hip Hop in 1980s,1990s,2000s
LL Cool J is actually a very very good interviewer. He asks the right type of engaging questions.
